I don't think the dwarves train until you have 10 of them, because whenever I hover over the 'Train' order in the military schedule, it says it requires a minimum of 10 dwarves.
They don't train for me either, and I have it set for a minimum of 1
ok i got the gist of this mi,itary thing sorted out. Andything you do besides the stuff you tell the to when you press S is their Idle commands. They will do this when you don;t thell them to do anything. Press s, select a squad and from there ordering them around is peasy.
Why are the stupid dwarfs not sleeping in their rooms, but in the hospital while they are not even sick or wounded.
Mine do that too, expect it is either the hospitle or they decide to fall asleep outside or in a cave.
I think my military problems are caused by my stupid arsenal dwarf who was just standing around waiting for training even though he wasn't even in the military.
I think my military problems are caused by my stupid arsenal dwarf who was just standing around waiting for training even though he wasn't even in the military.
People who were once part of a squad will never become true civilians again. It's a bug. They keep training and shit even when they're removed from the squad.
Whatever happened to the fun bugs :saddowns:
My soldiers are stuck....In the bedroom
lolinjoke
Is anyone else having troubles with dwarves working themselves into hunger and exhaustion and then refusing to eat or sleep thus slowing their work down and making them even hungrier and more tired?
Why doesn't DF work for me? It loads for about a milisecond before going "FLAGRANT SYSTEM ERORR DF.EXE HAS ENCOUNTERED AN ERROR AND NEEDS TO CLOSE." Can anyone tell me why it is doing this?
Gonna try WW1 in arena Arm some elfs and humans with a steel helmet, boots, cloths etc. Steel crossbow, lead bolts, and make them grand master marksmen.
Whatever happened to the fun bugs :saddowns:
Acid Rain. Pinching that severs body parts.
haha they shot at eachother, missed and then bullrushed It was kinda more like musket warfare.
haha they shot at eachother, missed and then bullrushed It was kinda more like musket warfare.
You forgot to give them more than one bolt. Go over the bolt and use +- to increase the stack size.
Lead bolts are meh, much rather adamantine bolts if i would want it more realisitc. [editline]07:36PM[/editline]
You forgot to give them more than one bolt. Go over the bolt and use +- to increase the stack size.
Yeah, i think they need a quiver, wich there is no option of adding. [editline]07:37PM[/editline] Yeah, lead bolts only bruise the body.
how do you make hunters hunt?
Oh wait no you don't, hah, but they fire that crossbow like a fucking machine gun!
Oh wait no you don't, hah, but they fire that crossbow like a fucking machine gun!
surprisingly adamantine bolts suck [editline]07:42PM[/editline] also, I just was in a human towns main hall, cut a child's head off.. About 20 humans surrounded me, I escaped with a broken arm :v: "The flying bronze bolt strikes you in the upper left back tooth and the severed part sails off in an arc!" Talk about near fucking misses

At the moment I want to train a relatively small military squad, what is the appropriate way to initiate sparring and begin training of them? At the moment they are present in the barracks, but are not actively training.
Also, is there any way of increasing the quality of say, armor, weapons in arena mode?
So i've decided to get into Dwarf Fortress, but i don't like the current tilesets. What is the best looking tileset for the game? I mean both graphic and character tileset. I wanna get into the game but i want it look nice and good.

Just tried adventure mode as an elf. Got ambushed by a sasquatch, threw my spear at it, which peirced its lower body and became lodged. I chased it all over the fucking place trying to kill it, eventually leading to another sasquatch, which we both headed away from. Then it suddenly stopped and started punching me, actually hitting me rather then missing. The other one joined in, but I managed to cripple the first. The second then took my rope reed fiber backpack and jammed it into my ribs, lodging it, and causing the broken rib to pierce my left lung. Jesus christ this game is amazing.

Thank god, you deserved it. [editline]08:27PM[/editline] How to fix mayadays Tileset?

Should say something like "Iron Bolt [25]" after 25 +'s. [editline]08:31PM[/editline]
surprisingly adamantine bolts suck
Because of their lightness. Adamantine bolts are kinda like throwing a high speed super sharp soda can at someone. Loses energy very fast. Slade bolts on the other hand, they pierce even steel plate.
You were an elf? Thank god, you deserved it.
Ya, I've played adventure mode mostly as a dwarf, wanted to see what using an elf was like. Wooden weapons are horrid.
i just killed over 47 humans, and took every single weapon from a weapon store.. Free ammo.. I'm just going around throwing battleaxes at people :v:
Throwing shit at people has to be the best combat aspect of this game.
