REFLECTIONS
Until the Dwarven civilization reclaims this barren piece of rock, the Black Towers of Olontost shall rise no more, hanging as a work in progress like a pitiful obelisk to failure.

The Eternal Sentinels, meant to serve as a monument of Dwarven mastery of nature, shall be reclaimed by the very thing it sought to conquer.

The Tomb for the Queen, however, was finished. Her bones were able to be placed into the Aluminum sarcophagus that lies directly underneath the center of the pyramid. Standing in everlasting vigil is an artifact statue, seemingly ready to spring to life to defend the bones and ashes of the Dwarves fallen queen.

I'm tempted to save scum and finish the rest of the Black Towers, then finish the rest of the tomb's traps.

Build statues.
Remember, when you have no idea what to do with a valuable metal (which you have a lot of), build either statues with it, or structures.
He killed an elf every other year?
Try 2 per year, if not more. :ohdear:
I made a slade colossus.

How did you lose (or as the wiki would say, "How did you have fun?")
How do I make my military dwarves wear their armor when they are inactive? I thought I saw an option to do that.
In the military menu, I think it's in schedule or when editing alerts/orders something like that, there's a toggle option that says like
"Inactive - [Uniformed/civilian or something like that etc]"
So my fortress was just attacked by a cavern-dwelling snow monster.
Thanks to the new material system, he was a complete pushover. I mean seriously... Snow?
Thank you, that was what I was looking for (it was already at uniformed, so it's not working, but whatevs)
I'm making an obsidian block tower. I didn't realize how much I was actually gonna use.

Production on the mega-constructs kept my focus away from the important things, namely, weapons production, recruitment, and alcohol production.
I had only 8 soldiers (4 Champions, 4 highly skilled Marksdwarves) when a large siege hit. Around 15 or so civilians were out at the brook when the siege came, and one of my champions thought it would be keen to sleep.
I was able to fight the siege back, but my fortress lost around 30% of it's total population and 80% of its fighting force.
i'm getting no migrants.

and my booze industry is hurting, but I just bought all the trader's booze, so i'm good for winter.
have farms up in a drained pond
Try 2 per year, if not more. :ohdear:
How so?
Says that 1000+ years of fighting led to the deaths of 452 elves. On average that is less than half an elf a year (aka once every other year).

:v:
they've got balls of steel
Object testing mode is fun. Unarmed dwarven bar fights FTW
Also I set up a fight between two alligators and they both wouldn't die but they hurt each other so bad that they vomited a few times a turn.
It was:
Alligator 1 slashes Alligator 2 at the upper right arm, but it glances away!
Alligator 1 vomits
Alligator 2 vomits
Alligator 2 bites Alligator 1 in the lower left leg, but it glances away!
Alligator 2 vomits
Alligator 1 vomits
lol at the image of alligators fighting, vomiting all over each other, and standing in a great big pool of vomit

He seems to go on a rampage every decade or so, if not more, then disappear for a while. :raise:
Did I miss something in the release notes or do dwarves prioritize work over eating/drinking/resting?
Did I miss something in the release notes or do dwarves prioritize work over eating/drinking/resting?
Somewhat, but to the point of near-death is a bug.
They'll try to finish a job first before they stop and eat/drink/sleep
I finally got a chance to test out wrestling on a jaguar. The damn thing refused to choke to death. The fight consisted of us grappled in combat with me slamming it over and over, choking it for minutes at a time, then more slamming. Then I figure out how to equip my bronze scimitar and I finished it off in one hit.
How the heck do I gouge eyes in this one?
anyone figure out why hunters won't hunt?
is your guy equipped?
is the labor turned on?
are there animals?
I'm annoyed that, because I can't figure out the military system, all of my guys are turning out as wrestlers (and I heard wrestlers got nerfed a little in this version.)
anyone figure out why hunters won't hunt?
Have you tried using m -> f and set the ammunition?
My hunter wont hunt because I chose a place where slugmen and a giant eagle are the only inhabitants :byodood:
