Ahem, a tileset, or any graphical enchancment that works?
Mayday's
Dragons are way too easy, I killed one with no wounds with a talented swordsman/adept armor/shield user.
Dragonfire needs a buff.
holy shit, some harpys just swooped in out of no wheres when I was starting a new fort, and injured the fuck out of my 4 dogs
On that note why has nobody tried this yet. Dig a hole away from your fortres going down as depp as you can untill you find the dreaded clown car. Then just channel the top op the hole to a river. I did that to deal with underground cavern creatures. They never came back.
Am I the only one getting a shitload of gold and other valuable materials?
Am I the only one getting a shitload of gold and other valuable materials?
no, the new version really ups the mineral/ore density
no, the new version really ups the mineral/ore density
Kinda ruins the fun when you have hundreds of gold ores and bins full of gems. And that's just from digging one or two layers :saddowns:
Luckily a bone doctor just arrived as a migant. So until further notice he's chief medical dwarf.
You should try Minas Tirith next, I've always wanted to build something like that. Edit: I mean how epic isn't this
I could do both. The Bridge of Khazad Dum could be the only reliable way to get to my Minas Tirith look-alike. However, instead of a moat, I just have a 1-3 tile wide bridge suspended over 100+ layers of painstakingly channeled out nothingness. Of course, only way I'll be able to do this is if I can actually find a massive 10+ mountain to carve Minas Tirith out of.
Im making my DF fortress in Minecraft :smug:
what the fuck
the first rule of dwarf fortress is don't talk about dwarf fortress
what the fuck
DF really is self aware, it must have read the news about the Irish priest and the deaf boy.
Ok, so what exactly is a fey mood? I had a gem cutter do it and he ended up making some gem dog cage artifact. Right now I have another dwarf with it and he isn't doing anything really. Is it just like some inspiration to make a work of art, or can be be anything from make wonders to go batshit insane and kill everyone?

Dwarves in high fantasy were also known as master smiths and producers of anything and everything metallic. Toady introduced Strange Moods to emulate this behavior.
how do I increase the game size, its just 800x400 then 2 inch black borders

He can go berserk and start killing your dwarves if he doesnt get his stuff in time.
DF really is self aware, it must have read the news about the Irish priest and the deaf boy.
Yeah I bet this kind of thing only happened once.
Dwarf Therapist is out for DF 2010. VERY buggy, but it works. http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=39229.msg1136017#msg1136017
well fuck i thought my fortress would be screwed over by the guy that wanted shells that i didnt have some how he got some
What. The. Hell. I was walking across a frozen sea (which is odd in it's own respect) when I found an ice wall. "That's wierd",I thought, but what was even wierder was that it appeared to be a perfect square of ice, approximately 10 tiles by 10 tiles by one tile high. Not a single imperfection marred a totally smooth surface. Unnerved by this, I went onward and found two more of these. The third one is when it really got wierd. It was in more of a U-shape, and I found a single hole in it, 3 metres long by 1 meteres wide. I was ready to enter, but I realized it wasn't a tunnel; it was a deep, deep shaft. Knowing I'd hate myself for all eternity if I didn't jump, I threw myself in. I proceeded to go into flying mode for a full20 seconds. To put this into perspective, I once leaped down a 10-z shaft and it took me a second to impact. WhenI finally landed, I smashed into water. I looked around as water choked the oxygen from my mind, and it appeared tobe a series of odd water-filled chambers. I never got a "You have discovered an expansive underground lake" or anything.I finally drowed after a few turns. tl;dr: I found some extremly odd ice monoliths waking across a sea, located a absolutely massive shaft, fell in, hit water,no less confused. The only thing I can think of is that a small part of the ocean didn't freeze. I think I should upload the save.
The forgotten beast Gor has come! An enormous quadruped composed of vomit. It has a pair of fan-like antennae and it has a bloated body. Beware its webs!
i'm screwed [editline]08:46AM[/editline] to bad its in a closed carven [editline]08:47AM[/editline] He can sit there while my dwarfs party.

If you guys want to fix soap, follow these instructions. Soap doesn't work properly because it's made into globs, not bars. Edit reaction_other.txt inside the raw/objects folder and change '[PRODUCT:100:1:GLOB:NONE:GET_MATERIAL_FROM_REAGENT:B:SOAP_MAT]' to '[PRODUCT:100:1:BAR:NONE:GET_MATERIAL_FROM_REAGENT:B:SOAP_MAT]' then gen a new world and start a new fort.
