Found it :woop: [editline]07:53PM[/editline]
Ok, after playing this game all day, I still can't figure out how this is fun. I've played a lot over the past weeks anyway, but just can't see the fun! I guess it's simply not my kind of game, too complicated. Going back to the 3D world of Minecraft was more refreshing after struggling with hot-keys and tentacle demons.
Aww. Too bad :( [editline]07:56PM[/editline] STRIKE THE EARTH! [editline]07:58PM[/editline] Wait, where the fuck is my brook?
WHO FOUND A STAR SAPPHIRE? THATS RIGHT I DID, FUCK YEAH!!!!! x60 value! Oh yeah!
Ok, here's my experiences with this game. Start out. Get a lot of turtle. Make great people, great roles. Settle in, find a mountain, make a cave/fortress inside it, then make random store rooms for wood and stuff. Then I just sit there and wait for things to happen, as I just don't know what to do...
I want Visual Fortress to work for the new version. SO BAD.

This game is a giant sandbox if you get bored with it you have low creativity.
WHO FOUND A STAR SAPPHIRE? THATS RIGHT I DID, FUCK YEAH!!!!! x60 value! Oh yeah!
I once found pretty much every x60 value gem instantly when I embarked. Lucky bauxite mine.
What is the pretty visualizer called? Does it work with DF2010 and where can I get it?
What is the pretty visualizer called? Does it work with DF2010 and where can I get it?
You mean Visual Fortress? but I doubt that it works with DF2010.
I've got a small problem. All my dwarves seems to have decided that it's impossible to leave the dining room. I'm getting a lot of "... cancels job x, area inaccessible", but I've double-checked that it's possible for them to move outside. Any suggestions?
Triple check the doors if they're locked etc. [editline]06:44PM[/editline] Dig an alternative path.
It's a pathfinding bug. I'm not entirely sure what causes it, but sometimes your dwarves get stuck for a while after completing a job or something.
Microcline hurts the eyes, it burns.
It's pretty I love it
Are there any other epic stories similar to boatmurdered? I don't exactly mean the kind where one player continues from the previous player's save, but that would be cool too.
It's a pathfinding bug.
press d->b->d that should open up a designate menu with the dump option selected.
Cheers.
I had this fort earlier that had a legendary armorsmith who had created an artifact right gauntlet, my hammerchampion fell in love with it and bashed some demon skulls wearing it during the last moments of my fort. Later I came back in adventure to find the gauntlet that was so powerful, it's wielder was told to fend off demons for days single handedly. The gauntlet was looted by stealth in the middle of the demon swarms. After retrieving this artifact of might, the adventurer took up a quest to slay a mighty dragon for the human empire, struggling in vain against the dragon's will. It was told that the nameless adventurer had a masterful steel shield decorated with turtle bone that pierced through the dragon's flames, protecting the user. Later, even though the dragon was defeated, the adventurer lost his right hand and the gauntlet along with it. It now lies within those god forsaken depths of the cavern where foul creatures dwell, and nobody dares to enter. The adventurer turns in the head of the dragon and retires in this now peaceful human town. He still has his shield with the turtle bone burnt on it, marking his victory over the dragon. Maybe someone will recover the gauntlet, time will tell. Mayhaps the underground civilizations have already found it, and established ultimate dominion underground by using it, and soon attacking the surface? Probably not.
Chunky, you.. play df?
Only since Monday.
do all the military bugs still exist?

Holy shit. Was goofing around, and I came across a mountain range which was +76. Yes, +76.
Holy shit. Please give me the world gen info for that
It was a standard, randomly generated, "Create New World Now!" World. Just like how I came across a +73 mountain in DF2010, which I'm checking out right now. [editline]04:52PM[/editline]
The perfect mountain :O How did you visualize it?
This was on Dwarf Fortress 40d#. However, I JUST (as in, while typing I finished embarking) found a mountain range in the newest release which goes from +50 to +73, then to +64. Scratch that, maximum height is +120. Holy shit.
Holy shit. Was goofing around, and I came across a mountain range which was +76. Yes, +76. EPIC MOUNTAIN
Holy Shit! Make some ballista batteries and archer nests! (Swallow style!)
Escape > export region image or w/e, export something Then in your DF directory find the txt file and upload it
You mean the bitmap image? Or the txt files? The txt files seem to only contain creature compositions and amounts. [editline]05:05PM[/editline]
Holy Shit! Make some ballista batteries and archer nests! (Swallow style!)
I'm planning on doing that for the DF 2010 fortress I found, which is roughly 2x higher then the mountain I just posted. This is going to get insane once Visual Fortress makes it to DF 2010.
I just got attacked by a wolf. Attempt to gather all of my dwarves inside so they don't get hurt turned out to be complicated enough to crash my game where the fuck is 'dwarves stay indoors'

Open military screen, alerts, arrow across to your burrow and hit enter.
