People will not recieve water in hospitals unless you have some storage containers built inside the hospital zone (so that they designate buckets to hospital use). Merely having spares on the stockpile will not work.
Well, shit.
You want a fun time? Load up arena mode, give a Bronze Colossus GM Wrestling, rename him to "Triple H", put him in the arena and drop anything in there to fight.
Throwing anyone into the wall is an instagib, and you can remove body parts at will just by pinching them. :buddy:

How do you throw people? I can only pick up objects and throw those.
Control+A, hit enter to switch to wrestle, select the parts you want to grab and what you want to grab them with, then enter the wrestling mode again and hit 'throw'
protip: scroll up from the top to get to the hand grabs
So hard to make aboveground fortresses without a good cpu now. 4x4 is way too small if the map isn't completely flat, 5x5 means 50fps at 7 dwarves sadface.
Thanks a lot everyone for your tips on burrows!
How do you stop the bleeding
how
I've been struggling for somewhere to put my farm plots, I've just started getting into this game and I've placed my farm plots inside, on clay (could this be the fatal flaw?), and none of the seeds are showing up (I want to plant plump helmets in particular). Could anyone help me please?
Did you wet the area to make it muddy before placing the plot? Did you go into q and activate plump helmets for all the seasons?

Do you need to do that for the inside? How would you wet the area?
Dig out the room next to one of the murky pools you see around and make a hole so the pool drains out. Any excess water will evaporate over time.
Right. I've just "flooded" one of my rooms. Seems to be slowly evaporating now. Thanks.
I flooded a rocky cave to make a farm in it, the water doesn't seem to evaporate.

My dwarves are fucking lazy and always having parties and shit.
Do snakemen olmmen and giant olms die if they are out of water?
I just used a metric fuckton of time to lay out my design.
Then I find out the river is frozen.
I really hope that it thaws in the summer.
A goblin hit my axedwarf in the mouth with a greataxe and it lodged there. The goblin twisted it around in the wound :ohdear:
A dwarven child went berserk and is now smashing his head against the wall or something, his head is dented and there is blood flowing everywhere.

Just watched combat logs, seems that the dogs attacked him

Seems that my bookkeepers 5 day old child got killed :(.
Gah, a goblin ambush is nasty when you haven't figured out how to command your squad yet.
And I stumbled upon a huge cave underground that was full of giant cave spider silk, should be funny to check out later on.

Nope, Giant Olms can exit the water and slaughter your fortress.
Could anyone recommend a good tileset? I've downloaded this one but it does strange things to full stops, commas and 'o's -- are there any better or is that one about the best?

Is there any possible way to get a dorf with a damaged leg motor nerve to walk again? Would crutches do the trick?

Thanks.
Is there any way I can identify an aquifer without trying to embark first? I'm trying to find a location for my first fortress but it seems that every damn brook has an aquifer; how can I avoid them?
Thanks.

A layer will have a blue rectangle to it's right to signify an aquifer.

Rivers or streams are a better choice to embark next to.
Brooks almost always run dry in summers.

Huh? Brooks are an infinite source.. they never run out.
I started in a place with no river or brook. I'm sad face now, because I can't make any indoor waterfalls :<
Forgotten beast just wiped my entire fortress out and flooded what was left of it by destroying all floodgates.
How do you kill a blob of flame?
Edit:
One of my artefact rings was called "Emptiedflesh the Depressed Sadness". I guess the creator had some problems.
