I don't have an arsenal/quartermaster on my nobles list. Am I boned? :bang:
They only show up after you get more than 20 dwarves. If he doesn't show up then, just wait a bit, he'll eventually show up.

Found out the comic Foxtrot did a parody of Digging To Deep, involving the Seven Dwarfs from Snow White unearthing a Balrog while singing their mining song.
Link.
Holy shit this comic's hard to find, I've been looking for an image of it everywhere.
I'm not gonna get too much into this Hitler shit, but the man did hide the extermination of over 6,000,000 for like, 5 years..
Which isn't as hard as you think, considering the camps were in the middle of nowhere, the bodies were usually incinerated, and the populace (who, as I said, would believe anything at this point) was told that they were being taken away because they were to blame for everything. Again, the fact that it wasn't discovered earlier can mostly be attributed to his ungodly luck. Anyway, as was asked, does anyone know of any other complete creature mods besides the Xenomorphs?
they were told that they were being taken to work, not because they were to blame for everything
Except that Hitler specifically blamed multiple races for Germany's problems. Besides, you don't need brains to be a lying sack of shit. Am I right? :v:
Oh wow, the lizard-demon law-giver of the local gobbo civilization just arrived with reinforcements after the original vile force left. My fortress had been filled with this light-blue monster killing humans during something called the "Terrible Siege".
Hitler was smalltime compared to Stalin though.
Without a doubt, without a doubt. Considering the Great Patriotic War cost Russia 8mil in military casualties and 17mil+ in civilian casualties. Combine that with deaths caused by politics, famine, etc. The only reason Hitler's so popular (in a sense of the word), is that a) he started a global conflict and b) his killings were focused on specific groups. Stalin's kill-count is far more atrocious than Hitler could ever dream of. Stalin was also far more intelligent (albeit far more paranoid). [sp]Note: I'm not praising Stalin. He's still a monster. However, he does have a seriously awesome 'stache.[/sp] :v:
Last time I check it was a thread about dwarf fortress.
Stalin Fortress.
In soviet russia, dwarfs control you.
:godwin:
In Soviet Fortress, the Earth strikes YOU!
I'm taking names for Dwarves, I got a spattering of different professions.
Can I be a militia commander/captain? [editline]05:20PM[/editline] And for anyone who thinks like me and thought it would be a good idea to assign one dwarf as quartermaster and bookkeeper, don't. It doesn't work.
Oh hey, if I set demon type to none when I hit hfs will anything happen?
Stop talking about hitler.
Does [POP_CAP:] work in '10 or not? Because it didn't work before.
Hey people, I was thinking about making a story on the Bay12 forums, but rather than a traditional story, it will be a journal about the Pantheon of this world, and mostly taking things from the Legends and turning it into an actual story. Think I should bother trying or is it an awful idea?
For dwarfs or in worldgen?

I have decided to flood the upper part of my fortress after allowing the Trolls and gobbos in. A severely wounded children dragged himself to a dry area of the barracks, behind a door, and now sits there. This will not end well, since the lever leading to the suicide system has been destroyed. It's gonna be fun to pop between still-dry areas and the extremely deep water.
In Soviet Fortress, the Earth strikes YOU!
This is actually kind of clever considering the new cavern creatures.

I've seen rain fill up empty ponds, so the same should work for a big area. Just make sure it won't flood the fortress in the process.
there's fucking raccoons everywhere oh god
Is there a way to kill a kobold thief without having a military? Oh, and I'm playing the old version.
