I'm back home so I'll sign up and download.
So, I've been looking to get into some kind of MMO for over the summer. This looks fairly decent but... How would I start this off?
Damn it is so annoying to wait for maps to download, also my character looks like a woman. Aight, thats seems like the plan then.
So are there any success stories with making real money? Any from you facepunchers that actually play it?
Jesus I need help with this game.
Somebody should plan some get-together.
Somebody should plan some get-together.
Holy shit I think I was playing with you a minute ago. I asked how to access the inventory and you just told me about the clothes.
Actually no, I didn't download it yet. Sorry lol

You know when you're living life to the fullest when you sweat for 8 hours a day.
Just got a free ride around with some guy in his VTOL, how nice. How can I enhance latency in this game because I felt like I was shooting around kinda whilest being a passenger in his vehicle. Made for a rather unpleasant flying experience as opposed to a hopeful smooth ride over distant lands.
Fuck got away form the level 32s. Now running away from level 47s. FML [editline]14th August 2011[/editline] Fuck, fuck, fuck. [editline]14th August 2011[/editline] Oh yes! I love the Calypso Rescue Team!! [editline]14th August 2011[/editline] P.S. Im saved.
Yeah, the rescue team has been a godsend at times. Bailed me out from invisible robots and things. Unless they just happened to spawn right in front of me knowing my luck. Managed to sell some sweat for 2.5 ped per thousand, unfortunately I only had 2.8k on me. Got me enough to repair my vivo to do some more generous healing.
I finally got out of the gateway, in as Rurik Brojangles Kane.

This is my problem. No matter what I've tried, restarting PC, running as admin, clicking retry etc. it just doesn't work. However, clicking cancel lets me run the game, even if it has only downloaded around 200mb out of the full 4gb. Quick update before I posted this message, it seems running it still works. But that's still confusing. [editline]14th August 2011[/editline] No wait, it comes up with that error in-game too.
I like how underwear is more expensive than vehicles in this game. Oh the vanity.
I like how underwear is more expensive than vehicles in this game. Oh the vanity.
you serious? holy shit gotta get me some underwear so I can look rich now.
Where did you sell them?
At the Limnadian District. If people want sweat they'll get it there, otherwise at Twin Peaks somewhere in between the scammers.
Dammit I fixed my problem - Turns out Kaspersky is giving me alot of trouble it seems.
Can't touch this.
Right I'm gonna see if I can answer some of your problems, most of your technical problems should be found on google, (the general updater problems, might occur because of lag on your end, so just (go to task manager > processes > and kill the entropia launcher) then just retry it. On the subject of mining there are a few different theories that I'm gonna quote
Mining tactics Mining tactics depend more or less what mining theory you believe in - Some say there are “veins” of ore, means some deposits near to each other. Means rather cover the area were you already found a claim with more bombs (take care about the radius then) - The others say it is irrelevant where you mine, you will get a certain amount back, so it’s self correcting. The money you lose you will get back more or less for 50-100%. Its hard to find THE mining theory, cause all are more all less true for certain situations - It is usually better not to mine in the areas near tps, because quite many people are mining there and don’t want to run into the wilderness. Although some high deposits have been found very close to Teleporters. Depending on what theory in mining you follow your chances are either equal, or better if you mine in the wilderness. So at a tp area mining has not many pros. - True is that you can find the same minerals/enmatters in an area. Means if you find permanently oil in one area this isn’t pure chance, this area has oil, and it will keep spawning again. Maybe (most likely) not at the exact spot you found it before, but in the area for sure. You can’t be sure when it spawned again. Sometimes it takes 1 day, sometimes 4, so you can never be sure. But if your skills are too low you maybe won’t find everything, so you can’t be that sure if this area doesn’t contain a different type of ore/enmatter. - In the end your mining style is depending on your pocket, and how you think mining is working. Either you mine absolutely random, more following theory 1. Or you try to cover an area when you’ve found something or you just ran in a line, dropping after you run twice of your mining radius (53m for tt finders, means 106m running) Depending on what theory you believe it either has absolutely no effect or is the Holy Grail. - Carry at least one refiner for the ore or enmatter (depends on what you mine) with you. You will be over weighted if you have too much stones or enmatter with you. You can refine your ore or enmatter to lighter, refined forms of your stones/enmatters. This won’t decrease or increase the tt value; it will just reduce your weight. Another positive side effect: refined ore/enmatter has usually a higher value at the market (better %). - You should check your skills and your stats with finders quite often. Mining equipment offer learning bonus, so, maybe you could purchase a new finder with learning bonus and even higher search depth.
The mining guide in question is here: http://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?49052-Basic-Mining-Tutorial
So are there any success stories with making real money? Any from you facepunchers that actually play it?
Some guy Tifa met in game a long time ago back in 2004 he got really drunk and deposited all of his bank savings into entropia, continued to buy the best FAP in the game, Modified First Aid pack or something. Which heals 160 hp, very fast, and for about 1pec per use, which is incredibly economic, that same guy is making a living off the game, as the Modified fap is now worth about 10 times more or something. It's a gamble, but there is a possibility. Though by just playing normally 20$/month or something, you can in fact get to the level where you can buy one of the (adjusted, improved, modified) type of weapon/tool, in which case, you can start earning some real cash. As you can imagine hunting with an armor is really expensive, you see me go without armor for the most part, but imagine not having to use armor, just heal yourself once with an imp fap or something(120hp) and keep on fighting. You have to calculate the point where it becomes economic to hunt without an armor, if you end up having heal on every fight without armor, strap on an armor, if you breeze through them, go without, and only heal in between fights. Back on mining again: There are random deposits all around the world, that have their own respawn timers, the respawn timers might be days/weeks etc, the minerals are specific to the area, ie the area norzone found his crude oil there will mostly be only crude oil. The amount you find and the type of minerals you find is dependent on how deep your survey probes can scan, the TT finder won't find all, but that doesn't mean you should go get the biggest and baddest finder, because you still need some skill in it, ie it will search 100-200m depth or something, with another you may go 150-260, or even deeper, your skill decide how deep between 150-260 you will search. The deeper it is, the more resources are probably found. Hope this helps a bit. more info [t]http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae350/Xavith/FPinfo.png[/t]
Mining works either like that, or your name is Norzone and you get a HoF worth 200 out of mining on one of your first mining runs
This is the other gun I got for those(OH SH*T) situations the eco isn't too bad actually
I'd be willing to spend $10-$20 to get out of some of this sweating. How long does it usually take people to start earning more PED than they have to spend? What is the most fun thing I can do in this game?
It feels so good :D Though I want to point out, this is me making a profit yes, but what you don't see is how I spent 80ped on hunting earlier ;)

Is it better to mine energy or ore?
Shit, didn't know they had vechiles now.. haven't played this game in years.. Might aswell start playing it again, seeing as I have nothing better to do
