I put in a capital of 40 $ at the start(bought armor, and gear spent the rest on ammo), and I'm going about 20$/month though I seem to be breaking even now, so I might consider not depositing more, just whenever I need to.
I would say, go mine energy, because you get twice the amount of tries. ie 100 survey probes give you 10 energy or 5 ore surveys.

I spent 17 PED earlier on stuff to mine at Nea's and I did. I only found about 431 Refined Oil, well, now they are refined and 7 Garcen Grease.
Now I got no ammo either and I'm too poor to go melee with monsters because I have to repair the knife often due to the low durability and high price.
Sweating..my god if I'm still sweating in a month someone put a bullet in my head.
I've got a problem still. I can get the launcher up but it still does the "cannot start up the auto blah"
i'm going to restart again.

I was reading through this thread wondering how the hell all you people can be having such an awesome-good time and making money to stay afloat and such.
Then I saw this post and realized I'm not alone in my suffering. :v:
Also with that being said, out of curiosity, how do you mine for enmatter? I remember reading that you can buy the stuff off the trade terminal, but I only saw the ore extractors there. Couldn't find them on the auction, either. This was in Port Atlantis.

Yeah. It's hard to figure out where you'll get it so I learned this last night.
Mine a spot, don't find anything? Run in any direction while counting to 10 and then put down a probe again. That way you don't waste as many and you can also find some I guess.
It's up to you but that's an economical way.
also enmatter spawn in generally smaller pockets because you get twice the amount, so if you're experienced go for Ore, just starting out, go for enmatter
so, just got done with my first hunt with norwegian, I used 10 PED worth of ammo, sold the loot I got for about 5 PED :v

Is it bad I use/buy the rookie enmatter scanner/finder? It gives me many more tries for what seems like the same stats.

Here is part of what I do, I have a Finder F-101 that I bought off the auction, it searches 191.8/263.7m this is pretty decent, and it's for my skill level(starter) the mining theories that I posted earlier, I'm quite confident that the "ore veins" one is the actual one. As the drops seem pretty random, but nurtured etc.
my second ace is this: [url]http://www.thedisturbedones.co.uk/mining/eudoria-v3-0.htm[/url] it's not completely up to date, but it does give you a hint as to what's in what area, what you want to look for is a huge variety in either ore or enmatter, in my case I go for ore, then just scout out a few areas and do some mining, there WILL be smaller drops nearby a large deposit, so if you aren't finding anything at all, change area, and I mean look around you, see some colour change in the scenery? Go there, look for things that stick out and give it a test mine.

This game seems fun so far though. Mining seems to be my strong point, but the starting extractor thing only has like 3 uses, so I'm saving up for a better one. If it all goes well, I may add some funds to help me along.
