Profit was pretty good, went from 80 probes to 110 probes.

God damn automerge.
Madpro, how are you enjoying the game so far?

Pretty fun. Good deal of grinding but the great community makes up for it.
Well, the luck is with you now, got 180 oil with 40 probe.
[QUOTE=alx12345;31759111]Well, the luck is with you now, got 180 oil with 40 probe.[/QUOTE]
Eh thats not too bad. I think that should pay for at least 20 more probes.
[editline]16th August 2011[/editline]
I'm feeling it right now. Gonna go do some mining.
[editline]16th August 2011[/editline]
1/11 probe - 624 Crude Oil!
2/11 probe - 70 Melchi water! (Worth 2x as much as oil)
3/11 probe - Nothing, and entering dangerous territory.
4/11 probe - 82 Melchi water and the deposit appeared too close to enemies for comfort. Especially when I only have 14 shots.
5/11 probe - Nothing.
6/11 probe - Nothing. Going to check out and mine around some weird trees I see over the crest of the mountain.
7/11 probe - 59 Crude oil. Not too good but I will take it!
8/11 probe - Nothing.
9/11 probe - 183 crude oil and I see some high level robots in the distance! Time to start heading back.
10/11 probe - Nothing and there seems to be a huge mountain and plenty of mobs in my way back!
11/11 probe - Out with a bang! 596 crude oil! Now to get back to the TT and see if I profited!
[editline]16th August 2011[/editline]
17.76 ped! Thats going from 110 probes to 350 probes! Booyah! More than doubled! Well thats all for today and probably about a week folks!
Total profit of 12.26 ped on this one hour trip.
This si going to be on the bottom of the page too dammit. Quote it lol.
I've been playing this before the CryEngine update.
[editline]16th August 2011[/editline]
I also wasted 20 euros on buying new gear and a helicopter filled with weapons.
Though I would blow through another 70 probes before I went to sleep. Bad idea. Not a single deposit. :smith:
Ups and downs, ups and downs.
I'm also quite interested in playing this game, I've read troughout most of the thread but there's just a few things I don't get.
For example you guys are constantly talking about the fact that the "payback" or some shit is only like 90% Does that for example mean that if you do X and spend 10PED on various things you get only 9PED in return?
Steam group!

Event TONITE. More info will be posted at the steam group.

Then you should know how shit the PVP is.

Its hard to have fun immediately in this game if you don't deposit money, otherwise you will have to sweat creature 8 hours a day.
Oh wow just realised I can use the steam overlay to browse internet, and still have my game fullscreen.
The pvp is fun as long as you don't face up against someone from Tax collectors or any of the other high skill society's(ie: If you actually manage to HIT them you will most likely just do 1 dmg, due to their armor.)
But against equal odds it's pretty fun, and yes the return rate should balance out to 90-105% return. Though I'm not sure if it's like this for mining as well, or if mining is completely luck based(skill increases your chances etc).
Also college is starting up for me, so I don't know how much time I'll be able to spend on Entropia, but I should be clear pretty much this week, and the next, except for tomorrow that is.
i wanna play this game but how did i stick 2 it.
[QUOTE=godlike;31770563]i wanna play this game but how did i stick 2 it.[/QUOTE]
I recommend joining the society in the OP and depositing some money to get on your feet and have some fun.
Add me to the list: Ivan stupideye Trotsky
I'm at the Swamp Camp, anyone want to sweat with me?

Depends on what you do, and how skilled you are at it. Mining generally gains you the most return rate as the minerals/ores have fluctuating markup rates and you can get a pretty good deal for what you find if you know how to barter. Crafting can be profitable but it is very risky and requires a lot of PED in investment to get going. (It's also incredibly boring). Hunting gives the lowest return rate of them all. It's mostly a fun activity you do knowing that you're going to lose money. Don't expect a return rate of more than 50-60% and you won't be too angry.
Note that return rate in TT value is generally much lower than 90%, and the only way you're going to reach that number is if you use markup values as well.
My knowledge may be outdated though. I've played PE/EU for a long time and tried out most professions, but last time I played was just before the VU 10 update (CryEngine2). However, from what I've heard they haven't made big changes to the loot systems, some even say it's worse now (although that may just be nostalgic bias).
I should try it out again. I still have like 300PED left from the last time I ragequit (a well planned 1k PED "economic" hunt project that resulted in a 20% return) and a new computer that can run it with a good framerate. I really miss those troxie and ambu globals, even if the game is a moneysucker :3
[editline]17th August 2011[/editline]
How much is the price of sweat these days? Got 61k in storage, bought it pre VU10 as I heard about future fancy Mindforce updates and I thought it would bring the price up.
Does anyone have like an Ultra High config for this?
Thinking about putting in like $10-15, putting that into getting some mining equipment sounds like the best plan. Any ideas on specifics? I just want to do something for straight up money.

you should be able to sell that sweat for about 2.5PED per thousand, if you're lucky.
at what level (or skill level, like newbie, green and so on) should I use the Ziplex finder?
A random guy named "tinker" just came up to me, gave me 50k of ammo, a gun, a healing thing an some other shit randomly. Fuck yeah.

if you got less than 5k it usually sells for 2.2ped/k, though 40k+ should give you maybe 3ped in twin peaks, (or you could go to rocktropia or one of the other places, and it sells for a LOT more as they need sweat in crafting over there.
Just got my deposit limit lifted.
LETS SPEND SOME EMONY.
Deposited 125USD
woah you should control that.

How about now?
Digging so far goes OK, not make profit though. Got 5 ped out of 10
You guys wanna go hunting later on?
I'll take a look on entropia tracker and see if I find some mobs that are doable with 2-4 people
found some info on Entropedia:
[img]http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae350/Xavith/argonautinfo.png[/img]
so a pixie armor would be fairly useful, I believe you'd be able to survive without armor if you stop shooting and just heal yourself, while the rest of us keep shooting gaining aggro etc.
I'm with you Xavith.
At least i have enough ammo :v:
