Where does one obtain cars in this game? some dude showed me a good mining spot, but he took me there in a VTOL and that took a while in the airplane. I dont want to even imagine trying to go back on foot. I am on arkadia just FYI. yeah i know about the auction house but i kinda want a specific car. also, should i have started on arkadia or calypso?

If you still need a lift I can fly you there.

So I installed the game. I used to play it a long time ago but never got past the sweating stages... I'm gonna give it a try now. Gonna try to work up to a decent amount of PED without depositing, and explore the game and stuff so I have some knowledge before I actually put real money into this. Any FP societies in game?

I can't find any Berycled young on the calypso gateway.. Nevermind, found them. Seems like mining is a good way to go to make money in this... I don't know which way to go though, it's either mining for hunting for me.

Trying to understand the market.. Markup is based off of the TT value, right? Say I had an item with a TT of 1 ped, a mark up of 200% would make that item worth 2 ped to someone, correct? Just trying to make sure I don't sell my stuff for too cheap or too much. (three posts in a row, I'm a beast.)) update: That was cool, a nice guy in a VTOL offered me a free ride to a place with loads of sweatin' going on. So far I've got 400 sweat in about an hour and a half... I'm trying to go as long as possible without depositing, hopefully making a small profit from the mining I plan to get in to, because that seems to be the most profitable so far. All the skill I get from sweating is really nice too. Fucking awesome. I just got paid 5 ped for 1,000 sweat by answering a quiz question right. New question: Is melee more profitable than rifles or handguns? It seems like it would be just because you don't have to pay for ammo.. Just decay costs. Jesus fuck, he gave me 2.5 ped for 57 sweat because I got the second question right. Quick googling FTW So far, total profits from 1057 sweat? 7.5 PED. that is an excellent start to this game if I do say so myself.

Hey Xavith, got any mining tips for someone trying to make his way in mining? I see you getting globals and shit. Are there any specific places that are good, or is it best to run around? All the stuff I've read says to just run around as there is no specific good spots.

I'm pretty much making at least enough to cover my decay and probe costs because I ran into a 3 ped score of Alicenies liquid. Been finding mostly crude oil and nexus though.

Cool, my mentor gave me sweat to sell. Made 12 PED from that which brings me back up to 102.

Mining is very much chance based, you can start out and get almost nothing in return, or you can strike immense amounts, I got pretty lucky in my returns. As for mining tips, I'm not really sure it really depends, I would suggest starting with enmatter though because 2 times as many probes means you'll get less return, but it will give you a more stable return. Alright, thanks for your tips. I've made a decent return with my materials mined so far cause I hit a big pocket of alicenies liquid. I also joined VOC, and got a mentor from VOC.. so things are going good now. I'm really liking this game alot, it's alot less tedious and more fun from my last playing of it, which was in 2006 or so.

Hey guys, I keep seeing people running around with artic parkas, or with an M4 rifle.. I heard you get it by doing "The Thing" quest. Is that difficult for a noob to do? Because I totally want that parka and rifle. P.S. Nice global you lucky bastards. I'm Elysium Kusanagi in game, just letting you know in case you see me in SOC chat or whatever.

hmm personally I haven't done many quests, I think most of the quests in the starter areas are quite doable.

Damn, I found a good mining field... I got ten hits in a row, then 8 hits in a row after a small no find period, made 10 ped profit on top of my probes. Shit is good today! And I found half an armor set on a Shinkiba, today is getting even better. Question, I'm quickly outgrowing my Opalo.. should I move to the breer M1A, or wait for a while and then jump to the breer M3 or something?

So I'm gonna try this out. Seems like a cool idea.

I like this game so far. It's pretty obvious that I'm gonna have to dump cash into it to get started, though.

if you play carefully you can go by around 10-20usd/month, though it'll be pretty slow

Sorry for the bump, but I knew this thread existed, so I did this instead of making a new one. Anyone been playing lately? I got back into this just now, and I'm just mining around a bit. Vehicles got much cheaper, a quad wing now is only 100 PED (compared to their 1000PED first, when this thread was popular). Sweat is a bitch to sell, either wait long to sell it for 2.2 or 2.5 PED, or sell it for just 1.8.
