The games are really good no matter what age really.
I was born in 96, and I like almost all of the fallout games. :smug:
INB4 You are too young to like games that i like.
:bravo:
I love sprite games like Starcraft, but both the first Fallouts seem too uninteresting to me. I guess I don't really like turn-based action games.
You might like as long as you can get past the graphics. Personally I enjoy old games more because of the graphics, it reminds me of when games were more focused around story and game play instead of who can look the nicest, not that good graphics are bad though.
I wish there was a HD graphics mod, I mean the sprites it has aren't bad but they're showing age.
But the gameplay is pretty fun so that's a plus.

Fallout Tactics is Real-Time
i was born in 87
and BACK IN MY DAYS, GAMES WEREN'T SO GREAT!
i was wondering though, is it possible to get rid of the "time limit" on fallout 1/2?
if i remember right, you have like 150 days or something to complete the game
Fallout 2 has an engine glitch, the total time to complete the game is like 20 years or something until the years reset.
I was born in '94 and I like the entire series.
Yes it was a good buy.
There's a difference between old graphics and bad graphics. Fallout is old, but doesn't look bad to me.
Also yes, if you have a decent attention span. And were born before 1994.
I was born in 93, yet that game was incredibly boring, simply because the only turn-based games I like are grand strategy games...
If i'm fighting bad guys or whatever, I want to be in constant danger by having bullets/arrows/lasers/etc... flying past me and having to decide what to do on the spot, its just like playing ice hockey by having turns, its probably the most boring thing in the world... BECAUSE NOTHING HAPPENS
However, the story was great and so on
its just the gameplay for me
In conclusion of my badly written post, not all people who play games can just be grouped into simple categories like that
I love Fallout 3 but didn't find the first two interesting when I tried them. I think I might have another try with them though.
I love the old Fallouts also.
Whoops, too young to like them.
Great game, but the combat system is pretty damn bad. Even worse than bethesda's system.
Why are you even asking this? Run, don't walk, and get a copy NOW!
If you can tolerate the god awful combat system that involves missing 99 percent of the time while a giant ant is right infront of you
yes its a good game, great plot, and quests.
You only miss because your stats suck. Put shit in the right places, you will never miss.
Also, get FO2 instead. It is the best in the series.

He bought a copy before asking FP.
I don't see why people find Fallout 1 and 2's 2D graphics "shitty". Compared to 3D games of the day, the bitmap sprites had a hell a lot of detail and either they were hand-made frame by frame or a rendered hi-poly 3D model. Those graphics kids must also hate games like Starcraft and Diablo since according to them sprites suck balls.
This. I'm tired of people using "shitty graphics" when they're talking about old games. Also the Fallout games are amazing. Play them.
Id like to play the Fallout 1 and 2 sometime, and i agree, why do people bitch about the graphics? i really don't mid bad graphics on older games, hell, I just played through the origional Doom last week just to remember the old times :)
In my opinion, if a game was good for it's time, then it's good forever.
It's an awesome game. Once you figure it out, you'll spend several days non-stop playing it. I was born in 1995 and I love it.
Combat is shit, story is great
[editline]07:47PM[/editline]
if you care that much about graphics kill yourself now.
I love the interactions with the NPC's in the orginal fallout(s.) Excllent story although the combat system (as mentioned) is difficult and frustrating but tolerable.
Get the Complete Fallout Edition (exclude Fallout 3 + DLC.)
Fallout will always be great. But, for 14 bucks? I'm not so sure.
Fallout 2s most recent restoration pack was just released, and of cause I had to replay the entire thing. Damn game drained most of my holidays. Such a time-passer.

its 6 bucks on Gog.com
For me Fallout 1 & 2 are the best fucking games that ever existed
Almost, Dungeon Keeper is slightly better. :eng101:

It's free in the majority of the world because it's abandonware.

Fallout 1 and 2 are not Abandonware.
Exactly. If it's still sold somewhere, it's not abandonware.
I'm thinking of getting the fallout 1 and 2 pack on steam , just not sure if I would like it.
I'm finding that the controls are hard as fuck, And why is there no tutorial sequince?
I'm finding that the controls are hard as fuck, And why is there no tutorial sequince?
Because the game was designed for people who had basic understanding of video games.

The interface really isn't that hard to grasp, but you can always press F1 for a list of hotkeys.
