Help?
Try updating your graphics card drivers.
i won this game on a swedish gamingsite
You mean you have the full version?
I loved the other three
[editline]03:36PM[/editline]
And So I'll love this
Try updating your graphics card drivers.
:ughh:
It has nothing to do with the damn drivers, I was able to figure out what to click to start the game or whatever and everything looked fine, there just isn't any text so I can't do shit.
So you've tried making sure your drivers are up to date and it still hasn't worked? Or are you just too lazy to update?
The drivers I'm using were released two months ago, they're fine, and what the fuck do graphics card drivers have to do with missing text? It's text for fucks sake, it's not some fancy graphical feature like HDR.

Good luck getting it to work without upating.
Installing the newest drivers didn't work.
:dogout:
Thanks for trying.
Well the problem is in your guys computers and NOT in the demo, so stop whining

If someone is trying to help you, try shit even if it doesn't make sense. Unless it is horridly retarded. Like delete system 32. And don't be a douchebag.

Sorry bro.
So anyone has bought the game and played it yet?
Wow, this game looks a LOT like Black & White.
Bought it on steam and so far the game doesn't disappoint.
[editline]11:32PM[/editline]
though it is too easy, I play on hard and it isn't too tough. For a while though I almost screwed myself over.
+Looks like a great game!
-No proper installer for the demo. A 2gb zip file? seriously?
-3 installs per system DRM.
-Steam pricing lol
This game looks interesting and all but i think i won't buy it until the price dropped and/or they remove the DRM (which screws over paying customers instead of pirates).
Also they should put the demo on Steam instead of just dumping it in a zip file so it can get corrupted and not unpack at all. These ain't the 90ies internet anymore.
(Secretly still wants this game)
You mean you have the full version?
a little late answer but yes
I just bought the collectors edition, im sure the DRM will disapear
I don't like some aspects of the game. The city construction doesn't feel free enough, and the chain-resource gathering just becomes a chore.
Let me tell everyone here the story of the entire series.
All the games before this one suffered from a few basic problems:
1. In a game about trade and trying to corner markets the AI would rarely buy things from you and just as rarely put their own items on the market. This made it feel like you were playing without any competition and you were better off just doing every single resource yourself.
2. Combat has always been simply terrible. I know it's a game about trade and that is fine, but there's always bugs with it. Why is it so hard to make a simple infantry guy that shoots? I remember the last version playing multiplayer and after spending hours building and making a small army I invade and my opponent builds trees on top of my guys, getting them stuck forever. That's the kind of problem that is present because the developers must have never even played that long into a match to see it. Building on top of enemies has pretty much been a "no no" since the very first RTS's.
3. In previous games there was always an easy way to build vast quantities of one thing and use the sales to power absolutely everything else (tools especially).
4. Multiplayer games could be longer than The Guild (16+ hours). There's saves so I give them leniency, but I'm still going to knock them because there wasn't even any threat of losing until the very last hours. There should always be some danger.
Now this new Anno game fixes so many of the problems I just mentioned. The AI is generally better. You can be attacked and you can lose comparatively early in this one (half hour). The resources are so varied and spread out that there is not one victory resource and with so many resources you are actually better off trading in most situations. The main improvement I like is that it appears that there are many viable strategies this time out. Spending your honor/resources/time on the orient or corsair factions is expensive enough that not everyone can do it, giving you a much more unique trading situation. On smaller maps or maps with rarer resources this is even more true. The potential for different strategies just multiplied itself by ten times in this new version. Add in the new buyable items and there's even more fun options.
And here's where it all fall apart. In a game so heavily dependent on trading it is deplorable that they did not include a multiplayer option at all. The presence of an "online" type button in the main menu serves only to taunt you with it's shitiness. The previous Anno's were only tolerable playing with friends since the market would tend to work itself out a lot better with human players. Now that they finally fix all the gripes with the previous games they leave us unable to actually play with friends. I had great hopes that I would finally get to play a relatively short, challenging, multiplayer game, but that hope is totally gone.
As for the developers, make up your god damn minds. You don't make The first anno multiplayer, than the second singleplayer, the third multiplayer, and then the next singleplayer only. I know the pattern looks prettier that way, but all this screwing with our expectations is awful.
I just got the game and I have to say, it's awesome. You'll never get bored. There is ALWAYS something to do and optimize.
Let's say you just decided to build new houses More people-> less food-> more food farms
No you don't have enough space!
That means you have to colonize a new island. But that needs wood and tools and ships... and so on!
It's pretty damn addictive.
I bought the game and it worked for the first 5 hours, then I got a bug that said "Graphic Error, please restart." And now I can't get past the intro clips to get to the game.
Besides this, the game was fun, but I'm not sure it is worth $50 and me being pissed the all of the next day.
I decided to buy it, and i'm loving it!
I've got a continuous game running for about 3 nights so far and i'm still not done building.
The only thing that keeps bothering me are the corsairs raping my ships and having to pay 'safety money' to the corsair guy and other cpu players. I swear i'll kill them once i get an army running.
I played the game quite alot too but i keep ending up restarting because im not satisfied with results and try to do a perfect start, hasnt worked out so far lolz
This isn't bad. It's well optimised, and seems to have a lot to do. It's tedious moving your ship around to get resources you need on different islands, but maybe I'm doing it wrong. Gonna try multiplayer later with a friend.
