for people who play with no hud it would be nice to have some audio or effects to indicate when we're thirsty or very near death or something, you know? like something to make your guy say UNGHH at 1/4 health and the like gasping when you get the dehydration indicator Just those details, I haven't really noticed that they're in game by default, could be wrong though
Theres that piss annoying heartbeat sound
ok made sure it worked since i had someone doubt my power as a model porter....
Does anybody else think it was a dick move to use shit from Broken Steel, Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta
Theres that piss annoying heartbeat sound
FUCK that sound, at least other games understand they should only annoy you with it in small doses, I don't want it blaring in my ears while I'm hunting for stimpaks. [editline]7th November 2010[/editline]
Does anybody else think it was a dick move to use shit from Broken Steel, Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta
I think it's a good decision rather than pussyfooting around the DLCs like they're some sacred piece of shit that shouldn't be disturbed.
Got the thread title changed, rate Lithifold hearts when you see him.
if i recorded myself saying IM THIRSTY and etc and learned how to script it to coincide with the related features would you guys use it?
for people who play with no hud it would be nice to have some audio or effects to indicate when we're thirsty or very near death or something, you know?
We get weird sound effects when a chem wears off or we get addicted, which we honestly don't need, but noting for food/water/sleep/radiation. The Darnified/Pipware UIs do add meters for those in the pip-boy's stats screen, though.
if i recorded myself saying IM THIRSTY and etc and learned how to script it to coincide with the related features would you guys use it?
Take a look in the drug mod. There are scripts that give of a slow heart beat when you are close to OD. Then try to find the scrip in NV that sets off the HUD message and replace the line with the heartbeat one or voice. You recording some sounds would be great though.
if i recorded myself saying IM THIRSTY and etc and learned how to script it to coincide with the related features would you guys use it?
As long as you don't have an annoying as fuck squeaky voice, sure. And remove that fucking heartbeat sound.
theres already meters for them in the pip boy though, but we shouldn't have to use a pipboy or even a hud to know those things
I've uploaded a new version of my radio mod, I've made them randomly switch, and also doubled the number of songs from 20 to 40. Couldn't be assed to add the greetings today though. Oh yeah, and for whoever used the previous version, you'll be pleased to know that I remembered a value I could edit so that the songs aren't as obnoxiously loud.
I think it's a good decision rather than pussyfooting around the DLCs like they're some sacred piece of shit that shouldn't be disturbed.
I understand they were short on time and it really doesn't matter that much but it seems to me like they cut corners at every goddamn opportunity (but I guess that makes it more like fallout 1 and 2 hurr)
ill try out your mod gmonk.. i swear if this is a virus im gonna cry

Have you seen how much better quality it is than FO3? I think you can excuse them for reusing a few assets. [editline]7th November 2010[/editline]
ill try out your mod gmonk.. i swear if this is a virus im gonna cry
I find your lack of faith disturbing.
Valve reuses lots of assets but no one complains
Valve reuses lots of assets but no one complains
god damn they've been reusing the same metal_hit sound for 10 years now! ~GabeN is fat and lazy where is ep3~
Valve reuses lots of assets but no one complains
bcuz mg valve are the best devs ever they would never try to rip off their fans they never make bad games omg i would fcuk gaben i bought the polycount back because valve deserves all of thee money they can get omg portal 2 goty 2011
Have you seen the amount of quests and voice work in the game? Have you seen how much better quality it is than FO3? I think you can excuse them for reusing a few assets.
A lot of the stuff is mod quality (ironsights, hardcore, reputation, disguises, etc), shitloads of bugs and huge imbalances (mw2-style "one knife wound beats fifty 5.56 bullets") make the game seem over ambitious to me, it's pretending to try too hard but not actually trying enough
I love how after Arcade's mission, I went from no Power Armor to way too much Power Armor. I'm too encumbered to get anywhere. If I just drop something random like weapons or apparel in the Wasteland, will it eventually despawn, and if so, how long do I have? Also, I [sp]killed Mr. House[/sp], which isn't anything new to you guys. I felt a bit guilty after I read the little note I got afterwards, and thought "Oh shit, I fucked everything up" when I realized that he wrote it for himself. He made sense, but was an asshole about it and everyone else.
Valve reuses lots of assets but no one complains
Mostly because the stuff they are recycling is of okay quality, while New Vegas seems to rehash a lot of models and textures that really could have needed some fixing.
Mostly because the stuff they are recycling is of okay quality, while New Vegas seems to rehash a lot of models and textures that really could have needed some fixing.
you were mad because you didnt look for a help screen lol... "omg how do i close this screen out!!"
There's the high roller.
you were mad because you didnt look for a help screen lol...
games nowadays tend to explain the controls as you play. and every action (pip-boy, lockpicking, cards, looting) has you pressing a key on the keyboard in order to cancel/exit them. you would expect terminals to work the same way but nooo that's some very shitty design but whatever the game is still fun
Is Unarmed any good? And if it is, what other Tag skills should I get with it? And what about my SPECIAL skills? How should I distribute those?
So, More Perks is pretty awesome, aside from the poor english/icons on some of them. Scavenging energy ammo from ash/goo piles, teaching myself power armor, fuck yeah.
Is Unarmed any good? And if it is, what other Tag skills should I get with it? And what about my SPECIAL skills? How should I distribute those?
Barter and Speech are really helpful in this game and a high luck can get you lots of money on casinos
Unarmed is awesome, but melee is better. Also, bare fists do nothing even with 100 skill, you NEED weapons like powerfists or spiked knuckles. [editline]6th November 2010[/editline] Oh and put points into END and STR, never worry about charging into battle.
There's the high roller.
Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.
Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.
Retribution!
