dosbox
dosbox
IIRC you don't need dosbox to run it on XP. I got it working on XP alone a few months ago, don't remember if I did anything specific to make it work.
Man i want to play Fallout 2 anyone has some tuts on how to play it on a modern Pc?
Install it. taadaa
Fallout 2 worked fine on Vista for me but now I have 64 bit Windows 7 and all the colours are fucked up (mainly pink and purple).
Fallout 2 worked fine on Vista for me but now I have 64 bit Windows 7 and all the colours are fucked up (mainly pink and purple).
Is there any fix for that so i can enjoy Fallout 2?
Is there any fix for that so i can enjoy Fallout 2?
Aside from installing an old OS (you could dual boot I suppose) I don't think so, unless there is an emulator or something.
Aside from installing an old OS (you could dual boot I suppose) I don't think so, unless there is an emulator or something.
Well, there is Compatibility Mode. You think that'll work?
Nope i tried it doesn't even if you use 16 bit colors.
Well, there is Compatibility Mode. You think that'll work?
Nah, it doesn't.
Install the high res patch, that fixed it for me.
For those trying to get Fallout 2 to work... Install this; Killap's Fallout 2 Restoration Pack. Includes a complete bugfix of all issues in the game (of which there are, frankly, tonnes). Includes the hi-resolution pack, which fixes all compatibility issues. Adds in a bunch of cut and fixed content. All quests can now be completed, and all endings are obtainable. I seem to plug this every few versions of the thread, but honestly, I see it as essential - vanilla Fallout 2 is painfully unfinished.
After reaching level 8 only based on playing side quests.. I've fallen in love with Melee. I've sold all my guns and ammo and I'm keeping the nice Melee weapons I find. So far I only have a Nightkins sword, the baseball bat with nails and spiked knuckle dusters. It's so satisfying punching peoples heads and limbs off in one might blow from V.A.T.S. Any tips for an all-melee character? What perks should I think about and where can I find some good melee weapons? And perhaps strategies for winning more long-winded battles in the game?
Download all sorts of crafting mods. Just a general tip, though one brings back the Deathclaw Gauntlet along with the Mantis Gauntlet.

But here's the kicker, this perk requires an unarmed skill of 70 even though it also affects melee weapons. This mod fixes problems like these.
some mods/images with mods enrage me. found this while looking at FO3 re-animated mod. (furry) :argh:

oh god isn't that a character from the star fox on the Gamecube?

download that, make a bunch of npcs with that playermodel, equip a flamer and burn all of them
oh god isn't that a character from the star fox on the Gamecube?
Krystal, the poster... thing for the feminine side of the furry fandom. The masculine side has Tails.
download that, make a bunch of npcs with that playermodel, equip a flamer and burn all of them
Ironically, I agree to this.

Probably because the weapons wobble so hard I can't shoot the guy who just put three clips in my midrift. I mainly use a fully repaired pair of Spiked Knuckles. I was a pretty low-level character when I took on Vulpes Inculta and his band. I won somehow. (Probably because several guys got cornered and beaten to death.)
They did kinda fuck over guns in NV but there's not a lot that survived a few shots from the Gobi Campaign Rifle, especially when it crited so much. Plus it's easy as shit to take out an entire camp when you just snipe them from a ridge.
I edited my gobi campaign rifle so it's got a 3-shot cartridge and does more damage than the default sniper rifle it's not a useless collector's item anymore
Except that it has a x5 crit modifier and with a bit of luck, can give crits most of the time. It's seriously a one hit one kill weapon for me.
