ARRANGEMENT.
It's going to put any goldSRC mod to shame. Not out YET, but it will be soon, and it's going to rock.
Featuring physics, attempts at dynamic stencil shadows, vastly improved AI, ragdolls, bumpmaps, and tons (TONS) of extra elements, this mod has so much to live up with. It'll make Paranoia look like child's play.

Just look at that. Can you believe it's goldsrc? I still can't.

Jesus whats with the camera? It gives me a headache and why do all that shit? The GoldSRC's magic is at being old, theres a reason the Source engine exists.I also can't imagine how horribly buggy this mod will be.

Seems alright to me.
They did the same thing in the PS2 Half-Life.

I remember seeing that a while ago. It was amazing when I first saw it, now it looks vastly improved.
Damn.
Also what was that mod that used to VAC you? It was Paranoia wasn't it?
Shame Todesangst 3 was cancelled.
You MUST play Life's End!

What about it?
Brain Bread.
I played some one-map mod thing where you went through an ordinary office and shit seriously started going mad.
What was going on DEFINED the word MINDFUCK.
Holes would tear up from the walls and heads would shoot out, chairs would be spinning and desks would be elevating. Scientist jumping around like snarks on the ground and then exploding into metal gibs.
I would love you if you could find that mod for us all. I seriously would...
They Hunger is a classic everyone should play. EVERYONE. It's just too awesome of the mod, overall. It feels almost as if Valve made it. Hell, even better. Now, true - some of the things might feel off and the directions may be confusing (at the end, especially) - but after all, the mod has a number of very memorable locations, great puzzles, interesting action pieces, awesome plot, and challenging difficulty that usually doesn't get too hard or too easy. Although, I would say that medkits are rather rare, and seeing one brings out happy emotions out of you.
And there is barely any music in the mod as well, which can be considered a good thing. There isn't an artificial feelings given to you. You are the one to feel the depression of understanding that the wave of zombification travels faster than you. You are the one to feel the happiness at the sight of the military attack, and the crashing blows of them thinking you are one of the zombies - and worse, seeing THEM becoming zombies as they get overwhelmed.
It's just so awesome.

I really want to disagree with you.
The biggest thing that really, really, REALLY made me grow to dislike it were the puzzles. There were few, sure, but the ones that you had to do were just tedious as all get out. Maybe it's because I played it when I was a lot younger and maybe I have to give it another run through.
But, yeah, definitely, for the time it came out (and how quickly the series came out) it was something to brag about.
I agree with this guy: play it.
I really don't see any of the puzzles to be tough. The main problem was identification if what the hell to do next (and that only set in later).
But yea. PLAY IT.
Natural Selection is one of the best mods i ever played, ashame i can't run anything using the source engine :frown:

GldSrc :eng101:
Also, I don't play it because my old PC had that annoying crash on using special alien ability (for one of the rare few species that are worth playing) and the FUCKING DEVOUR ATTACK.
Seriously, it's like looking at goatse for 20 seconds, when finally, your teammates kill the fucker... and another one pops out and eats you!
Half-Life 2.
My favourites are: Azure Sheep, Point of View, Redemption, Poke 646 and Life's End.

The map had a name with something along the lines;
Aufice Complecks, or "Office Complex" spelled in a really weird way.
I'll try to look for it, but I don't think it'll be easy.
What?
"an idea or concept that shakes one's previously held beliefs or assumptions about the nature of reality."
Shit I just realised :ohdear:
I completed Life's End today after it got mentioned in this thread, and I'm left underwhelmed.
It was certainly a decent mod, but nothing outstanding in my opinion. It seemed that every good idea it had was over with too quickly. (well, except one plunge into some retro sci-fi - that was cool)
I also felt like there should have been multiple endings, but I guess that's just the fate of the character.
Yeah, the name is life´s end, what did you expect? To live?
I've just installed Poke646 I'll give you guys some feedback once I've played through it.
Yeah, the name is life´s end, what did you expect? To live?
I didn't want to ruin anything but your inherent lack of vision is forcing me.
[sp]No shit, he's going to die, but the end very much made out as though there could be 2 endings, heaven and hell. Unfortunately, there is not, and the whole idea of instadeath by aliens after all that just doesn't make for a good end to begin with.[/sp]
The Specialists is the best mod ever. No arguments.

Yeah, that was realy wierd. But it was a fun mod though.

There's a sequel in production, so I guess you live.
No, you go to hell in the end.
So why did I use spoiler tags again?
