It'd be easier and better to just be in the same regiment, no need to create a completely new one
also I can't imagine a linebattle with 5 soldiers only, duh
Sadly, even if I nolife this game to hell and back, I still have no reg. I just can't see myself playing in a bad, boring reg that doesn't matter, and good regs require stuff like complete lack of life (I am not that far with my addiction [yet]), and a mic.
also here's gokiller thinking about the true meaning of his existence

So are bayonets toned down a bit? I guess the upward thrust might give groups an advantage over single attackers, tired of having like 10 people wiped out by a single guy with a bayonet :[

shiet, can dragoons reload on horseback too now? that'd be nice.

I think yes, since they can choose to spawn with short rifles. Worse accuracy, but faster reload speed.

The voice acting is top notch.. I daresay its somewhat immersive to hear people shouting things from houses in the distance now.

Yeah, especially the beginning of the last round on the livestream - all these french screams and chatter and stuff, very immersive
Damn, I'd love to lay my dirty and unworthy hands on this game already
Not going to buy it if its over 9.99 though. (well, maybe a bit over) I'll be pissed if this is 19.99 or something. Already getting gouged by every other game company, would be nice to get a fair deal for once.
9.99 would be a definite buy, 19.99, i'll wait for a sale
i'm excited as fuck for this though
it will probably be around 10-15.

Think about them this way - on a horse, you have a relatively short-ranged sabre, while every infantry unit can easily block your attack and most of them are equipped with fucking polearms

I'll ask my regiment leader if he will accept you dudes. We get in all the line battles and we're pretty slutty since we're the Something Awful regiment. Goons come and go as they wish, you gotta attend the pre-battle training if you're new though.

Also I really like infantry models in game, they just look gorgeous
[img_thumb]http://h9.abload.de/img/mb633z9l6l.jpg[/img_thumb]
But these pants... I don't like them, they look odd as heck. And since every unit shares the same pants mesh (I think), it should be easy to remodel them.

Pffffffffff, just because we're fairly new to the linebattles doesn't mean we aren't as important. We usually always lead the guerilla line that comes in from behind and fucks everyones shit up. :smug:

Some of our guys are terribly terrible at melee though.

Also, important - are these regiments from Europe, or America?
SAdraGoons are from both. We fight in all the linebattles. Dunno about NEC.
Isn't Mount&Musket simillar to Fire & Sword?
Isn't Mount&Musket simillar to Fire & Sword?
Nope. It was made before Fire and Sword, it's multiplayer only, and is mainly based around musket+bayonet fighting. With Fire and Sword only has firearms without anything pointy attached. Also the With Fire and Sword stuff happens during the Deluge (1647-1649), while Mount and Musket - Napoleonic wars (1799-1815). Plus Mount and Musket is a full multiplayer experience, while With Fire and Sword is mainly SP.
[editline]1st April 2012[/editline]
Mount and Musket has linebattles, 250 men servers, big community, loads of community events, and good quality
With fire and Sword has a huge map with unique content (winged hussars with ten kilometres long lances, mmm), your usual native battles but with some firearms, it's not really popular, almost forgotten and the quality is questionable

Thanks for the great answer, it was really helpfull
I just downloaded M&M yesterday and I played it til 2am. I'd love to join a regiment.

You can say what you want, but wf&s is a decent mod. It has good quality models and textures, balanced factions and interesting multiplayer. On top of that it has a fantastic singleplayer as well. Both multi and singleplayer have features new to warband.
NW models and textures look great, but it's completely ruined by how dark they made the game.
SAdraGoons are from both. We fight in all the linebattles. Dunno about NEC.
NEC is america, but we have a couple europeans and a couple aussies
NEC is also not a single regiment, it's a coalition of regiments
SAdraGoons are from both. We fight in all the linebattles. Dunno about NEC.
Funny about that, since NEC stands for Northern European Coalition we are comprised of mostly Americans. We have our own line battle server on Tuesday, and Fridays.
Damn Ninja.
Total around i think maybe 60-70 people. Thats just my guess. but i do know we have more then 50.

last time i checked it was north east coalition but I might be wrong

They are dark? You should check them again, they look pretty bright to me.
And no, wFaS has pretty low quality when it comes to models and textures. Singleplayer's quality can be compared to Warbands, but I think it's a little worse - the whole map is flat and has no landmarks, for example. Or weird dialogue. And the main problem - it is a mod sold as a full game. If you can choose between wFaS and Warband, you better go with warband.
When it comes to new features, I really liked the idea behind Captain mode. But I think that Napoleonic DLC is going to use this gamemode way better - linebattles n stuff
Also thank you guys, now I don't know which regiment to choose, so I'm going to stay regiment-less
Its North European Coalition
What i don't like about Napoleonic wars is that its a dlc, so that people have to buy warband and NW to play it. I mean im trying to get my friend to buy Warband, but now NW? Also whats the point when it looks like a upgraded MM with a few new things. I mean i love the rockets and new flag animations ( no more cardboard).
I'll Most likely buy it, but thats just my two cents
I finally got an army of 90 people then some motherfucker took it all away from me how the fuck do you win at this game!
Any definite release date yet?

Run from every bigger army. No loss is too much unless it's around 80%. Grow an army and get armor. Take over castles, giving you more power over the region. Repeat that until all of Calradia is your custom (or a kingdom you sided with) kingdom's.

Better but still shitty. If you can't form a proper 3 rank line then it's nothing more than a normal warband battle.
It looks really dark in the trailer. Exactly like m&m. But looking at the pictures i guess it also has to do with the map they are on.
