You can say what you want, but wf&s is a decent mod. It has good quality models and textures, balanced factions and interesting multiplayer. On top of that it has a fantastic singleplayer as well.
If you're talking about the mod, Ive never played that.. but the retail singleplayer is garbage.
Warband is a great roleplaying game, WF&S is a terribly boring attempted campaign (nerfed the roleplaying elements) that is easily beaten by better game titles. I guess from an MP standpoint though WF&S is solid. You can choose to use a matchlock or you can get yourself a claymore/zweihander and start skewering people, so its a nice range of choices... M&M is standard infantry/cav so there's really not going to be a lot of variety, but in and of itself that's part of the game.
No i just called it a mod because that's essentially what it is. A paid standalone mod if you will.
I prefer the wf&s singleplayer over warband singleplayer. You can actually follow the story of your nation and the mercenary camps are a brilliant idea. I hate going from town to town just to raise another army while i have plenty of cash to buy every soldier in the region.
I think the community made wf&s is now called The Deluge although i am not entirely sure. It's an interesting mod though. It has some really great features that are now also in napoleon wars. Stuff like boats, bracing, animated flags, well made cannons and more.
It's pretty impressive how the community improves m&b more than the devs.
Love mount and musket so much, this is literally every single one of my wishes for the game coming true.
ROCKET TROOP FIRE.
Those wings in WFaS were annoying as fuck.

NW models and textures look great, but it's completely ruined by how dark they made the game.
Hi Sami,
The announcement trailer doesn’t reflect at all on how the game actually looks. It was made about 3 months ago and since then we have improved the models, textures, maps and several other aspects of the DLC.
About the DLC being dark .. can you please take a look at the below videos and sneak peeks that I’ve linked you? I look forward to hearing from you, after all we can use all the suggestions we can get.
Also, you can form up to 5 ranks in the new Commander Battle mode.

This is great as i love the mod but there was a number of improvements i want such as
Lag optimisation 150-200+ was laggy
Better sounds - hand combat sounds got boring quick
Multiplayer squad controls- would be cool to have a system that keeps a squad together if you leave a radius for too long you should take damage.
A big problem I see with this mod is going to be the community M&M, has a good community at the moment because players owned warband have some experiance and have went out and looked for this mod.
M&M only works because of the good admins and organisation, making it any larger the game will not cope and will be flooded by noobs.

We have worked a lot on game performance and this shouldn’t be an issue anymore, please note that even in mm Russia most of the time people lagged because the administrators in charge of the server weren’t taking proper care of them. For instance, you can expect to run six 250 players servers on the same box without having problems.

We have already improved this, take a look at the Development diary videos I’ve linked in the above post.

The new Commander Battle mode offers a variety of controls.

We tackled this by implementing an informative tutorial in game. I’m currently also working on some things to help people get introduced to our community’s regimental system.

We will certainly be in need of new server administrators to help us out but this dosen't mean that administration and organisation will not be as good.

Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions and take away doubt.
I took a look at the screenshots and they do seem to be much brighter than the trailer is. The models do look fantasic and the features are quite exciting as well.
I am still worried about the formations though. You can form ranks in wf&s as well but that does nothing more that forming a blob of troops pretty much.
Looking at the trailer and the dev commentary it seems the ranks are not tight. This annoys me. It just doesn't look good and it stretches the line further than it should. 2 ranks spread like that are more likely to be over-run by cav instead of catching them.
I also wonder how commander battle is going to be different from normal battle with bots.
I think being in charge of a line shouldn't mean you have a bunch of bots following you. It would be pretty impressive if you made it so that you have to order your troops to move in formation.
An examples of such orders would be:
Wheel on centre
Wheel on left/ right
Forward slow/ fast pace
Halt
Counter march
Skirmish formation
To have those kinds of orders work it means you can't have your bots just follow you around like in native.
Hi sami,
Below please find some answers to your questions:

There’s an option to command your troops to stand closer if you wish, this way you will reduce the gaps in your line thus making it tighter. As I said before you can also command your troops to form 5 ranks which resembles a square, this way you will not be decimated by cavalry since your line isn’t spread too thin but you’re obviously more vulnerable to artillery and musket fire.

You can order your troops to hold fire, stand ground, form ranks, advance, charge, retreat, fire at your command, fire at will etc.
We are still looking into other commands that we can implement such as wheeling but sadly they will not be available at release.
Have a good day!
THIS COMES OUT SOON EEEEEEE

Are you in a regiment?
Can't wait for the big linebattles, the fact that musicians can play while they move sounds amazing for those events (among all the other things).
I was in the 7y, a regiment of the NEC, but my computer broke so I took a leave of absence. They did remove me from the steam group so I'm not exactly sure if they understand my computer is broken or not :v
Never been a fan of M&M, I've played cRPG for about 2 years now and I'm just a melee guy at heart, I liked playing M&M a bit because when I engaged into melee, it felt like I was fighting bots, slaughtering them by the hundreds all by myself, but then I'd always get shot down.
Little do I need to say, I also hate playing against archers or crossbowman because I'm not a fan of fighting with a shield since it bores me to have omni-block.
So will M&M be alive when this comes out? I want to try something like this but I won't be able to buy the expansion for a long while.
Hope it gets released to multiple online destribution points at once
Bought it on GameStop Now since the whole collection was 5 euro and on Steam it was 20 euro

Still works, not as effective though
I was in the 7y, a regiment of the NEC, but my computer broke so I took a leave of absence. They did remove me from the steam group so I'm not exactly sure if they understand my computer is broken or not :v
Hello fellow NEC I am 57e Axel I can tell them of your problems to chester
Servers are a little laggy right now. I roleplayed as Napoleon, except I sacrificed my horse many times to the blood Gods, the water Gods, and the bullet Gods for our team to win.
do people still do the 360 turn so they can exploit the speed bonus?
Can't tell you about other mods, but in Native and cRPG it just got worse, people are abusing animations 24/7 and they spin around like they're god damned circus fighters or just spazfeint so much that they break the engine and you can't do shit about their feinting anymore.
Never really played M and B multiplayer, Napoleon worth picking up?
Yes, its a lot more polished than warband.
Also I recommend playing the tutorial, its pretty entertaining.
