I just checked out the multiplayer for this and I've noticed it has a huge amount of player, so I'm thinking either this game is hugely more popular than I though, or they're all bots. Could anyone explain this?
I don't even know if there even are bots at all, just wondering.

In multiplayer you can have up to 300 vs 300 bots but i think those are not counted as players in the server list. Could be wrong though
A Napoleonic Wars game where everyone plays as individual soldiers and uses line battle tactics?

There are only 3 or 4 main servers that people play on hence the large amount of players in each server.

I just checked and there are about 5 servers with >100 players and about 20 or so with >40

One of my favorite things in mount and musket was to play as any of the cavalry classes with instruments and just play while riding in front of incoming enemies.

Or maybe they wanted to make the MP as good as possible, instead of doing "only" decent campaign and "just" a decent muiltiplayer mode? Spoilers - wf&s mp is just warband with firearms and silly hats. Napoleonic DLC has rockets, cannons, linebattles, barricades, ranks, flags, and don't forget - hilarious pipes

This DLC isn't going to run away, just try out Warband and see if you like the gameplay. Then imagine it with muskets - or just try out the Mount and Musket mod, if it's still supported
Had an excellent few hours in a few impromptu goons vs reddit siege rounds. The maps are so much better than in MM and I can't wait to try out a line battle on some of them.
Buying this when it goes on sale. It looks like so much fun.

Fuck that, there was this amazing guy who walked through tons of people bayoneting and shooting at each other playing the bagpipes but someone decided to shoot him instead of someone else that's actually a threat :v:
Almost like this one match where it was 1 guy vs 4 and there was 2 guys off to the side with one playing the drums and 1 playing the flute and that 1 guy decided to just forget about the guys dtrying to kill him and chased after them to stab them :v:

I believe so, if not there will be eventually as the lust for the battle mode dies out. The playerbase is at an all time high, there are several battle and conquest servers with ~200 players, which is unprecedented. Duel servers will become very popular once the novelty wears off.

It had about 20-30 people, but they gradually all left as it got late.
I just got the bundle on the steam sale, which would be best to install. Warband or With Fire and Sword. Or get this Mount and Musket mod I hear about? I'm very new to this game ;_;
Currently have With Fire and Sword installed and loving the online. But I really like the look of that line infantry combat.
Fuck me I saw that Mount and Blade Collection which includes the DLC but didn't bite it. I was still concerned about the quality of the DLC compared to the mod. With everyone saying that it's an improvement (especially now that we can have sideburns!). I played it a year ago for a few months but stopped waiting for new updates. I am eager to jump back into the game now.
But then Steam fixed the damn catalogue. I missed playing the battle of the band.
