Capcom is also doing it with wrath of asura, several paid for DLCs to get the actual ending.
In terms of romance, man did Jack, Thane, Miranda and Tali get as little content compared to Liara, Garrus and the Virmire Survivour.
It's also pure bullshit I can't see Garrus and Tali make out or Gabby and Ken because I have kaiden alive instead of Ash.

You can still catch Garrus&Tali even with Kaiden alive, I walked in on them in my playthrough and I always kill Ashley.

As I recall, they stated on twitter that starchild may have been lying about the geth and EDI being wiped out.
There's a problem when they have to go and reveal plot points like that over twitter and not ingame.

There is going to be and extended cut DLC. But there are people still campaigning for a new ending, which I personally think is now pointless because Bioware has made their decision. If they want to make a difference they should work with Bioware, letting BW know what they would like to see in the extended cut.

I think the issue here is that the ending has multiple plot problems that simply can't be solved with anything less than a near-complete rewrite. If Bioware wants to keep their ending intact and simply expand on it...well, that's their choice. But what they need to understand is that, unless they pull pure magic out of their ass, it's not going to work. I wouldn't be surprised if it exacerbated the situation.
