I know a lot of things could be said about the campaign so far, but I really think they've done a spectacular job with Shepard this time around. His reactions, renegade or paragon, to the Reaper invasion are just how I imagined. Stressed out and pissed off with the Alliance for barely listening for the past 3 years, and the whole scene in the beginning where [sp]the Reapers finally touch down and are glassing Vancouver, with Shepard just looking at it like all his nightmares just came to life[/sp] was incredible.
I am a little annoyed by a few things, though. Namely, how the hell does the Alliance or anybody lose track of the Reapers? There's probably some tech jargon or something they can pull out of their asses, but I'd like to think that, considering it's been awhile since Arrival (probably a few weeks or months), that the Alliance would be willing to monitor the entire area of space around the Bahak system/area around the Alpha Relay. Considering FTL travel in a stellar cluster is do able within a reasonable amount of time (Mass Effect 2 would have taken years otherwise, instead of the implied months), I can't see why they couldn't just move a few reconnaissance ships into the area and track the Reapers. They constantly exclaim in the beginning about the massive signature the Legion is giving off, so I'd imagine they'd be capable of following and keeping tabs on the Reaper fleet. All the Alliance personnel, Shepard included, seem so surprised to hear that the Reapers are finally hitting the Local Cluster. Like they never saw it coming, which is ridiculous considering that they've been in the galaxy since Arrival. Technically speaking, the Invasion already started. It was just a matter of when they would make their first strike.
