I'm not talking about how good they look, i'm talking about how they play. As in the levels aren't all that intuitive to navigate. I'm all for nonlinearity, but this was more "There's 1 linear route, but it's really hard to figure what the fuck it is unless you look at the map" http://guides.gamepressure.com/masseffect/gfx/word/73895046.jpg Not to mention how small the maps were; you had tiny areas before getting to a loading screen.
I still fail to see the problem you're pointing out here and you are using one map for talking about nonlinearity vs linearity. The citadel was very large and non linear as another example. If you never used rapid transit you could get lost as new player. A lot of people complained on youtube and elsewhere about this.
If the game would be less linear these dumbasses couldn't even find the way out of the Normandy. If the game would be more linear normal people would say it's on rails.
Since when is unintuitive and hard to navigate a bad thing? It means you have to use your brain and memorize the level. New games like Dead Space 2 and Skyrim have spells and technology build into lore that show you what path you need to go to finish your main quest. Why? I dare to have the audacity that most regulars in this thread, including you, are smart enough to this without a gimmicky tool the developers give us.
The level maps are good for this.
Please come on, it's a game from 2007 and the other one is from 2010. Three years of brain-juice and improvements sure meant a lot. The whole engine was recycled and they fixed the crooked texture loading, but it's still the Unreal Engine 3 with minor but important changes.
That's as fair as comparing Half-Life 1 with #2.
ITT: Newer games look better than old ones.
Mass Effect 1 gameplay sucked even for 2007 standards.
Do pre-order codes such as Collectors Armour and Weapons pack for ME2 still work?
Mass Effect 1 gameplay sucked even for 2007 standards.
And Gears of War 3 and Bulletstorm have awesome gameplay? I get it. Sad these two games are no fun for me to play twice or even more. ME1 sure was horribly exploitable once you get Spectre Master Gear. And to be honest Mass Effect 2 was a good mix out of fun to play and not being dumbed down story wise. Hope ME3 will truly be the balanced game it claims to be. I'm fairly certain if we look past sexbots and fanservice it will be fun.
Jack concept art.
Here's a piece of fanart for some comparison. This is what the artist's idea of a more 'mature' Jack is.
[thumb]http://th05.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/f/2012/032/b/3/b3a2088b605ffd1f73ea400653cd5dba-d4ode7s.jpg[/thumb]
[sp]Not only that but the leaked dialogue doesn't reflect a lot of maturity coming from Jack. She still has a nasty edge to her character (that reads almost exactly like her character acted in ME2), and the romance dialogue doesn't seem anymore 'warm'. I suppose her being a teacher is supposed to convey that she is more mature in nature, but i'm not sure that is the appropriate tool to get the job done. People who romanced Jack are expecting her to open up to Shepard, as her romance scene implied she did/would. If that script is any indicator, they're not going to get their wish.[/sp]
Is Shepard Mexican or something in that art?
[editline]4th February 2012[/editline]
Personally, I'd like to a prequel to the Mass Effect universe. Maybe detailing someone who stopped an early plot of the Reapers that would've already had them in complete control of galaxy by the time Shepard did his notable act.
Or you play Saren and find Sovereign
Only thing I hated (and loved) in ME1 was Mako. On this mission where you had to go down the hill in 40 seconds it was bouncing. From everything. Even the surface.
But then again I loved slipping by things I was not supposed to slip by to with Mako and destroying everything. :v:
Is Shepard Mexican or something in that art?
I have no idea, it looked like Sheploo with longer hair. For whatever reason.
The colouration of his leg armour makes it almost look like he's wearing khaki shorts with a black leather belt

Ah yes "LMAO Pics", the thread in FT allegedly containing original, funny content.
We have dismissed that claim.
I have just re-finished Mass Effect. For some reason it takes me to the main menu after credits.

There's no free roam after the ending in ME1 like there is in ME2.

I know,but i don't have the savegame with my Anderson\Udina choise.I think i'll just live without it.

This whole LMAO pics theory proves just how fragile your mental state is
I know,but i don't have the savegame with my Anderson\Udina choise.I think i'll just live without it.
That's a glitch in ME1, if you import your save to ME2, after you escaped from the station when miranda will see if you're mind works, she asks whether you chose anderson or udina and who is the council depends on who you choose during the converisation.
I have just re-finished Mass Effect. For some reason it takes me to the main menu after credits.
I thought many games do that?
I looked through my friends youtube channel and saw some ME2 videos he made.

...what the fuck was he smoking.
Call him out on it then. Whatever he had, "PUFF PUFF GIVE".
For those of you who haven't seen it yet, ME3's achievement list has just been uploaded. The 50 achievements (and their corresponding short descriptions) are pretty vague and nonspecific, but do read at your own risk if you're touchy about spoilers.
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/mass-effect-3/achievements/
Biggest takeaway that I got from the list was that the MP achievements can all be completed in SP. Seems like Bioware has been true to their word when they said MP was 'completely optional'!
Some places with cinematic third person, but other than that all FPS.
Dialogue, fighting, running around etc.
Dialogue, I think, would need to stick to cinematic third person. Fighting and any other combat elements, first person. Maybe even some cutscenes.
I read on some russian site about ME3 spoilers..
[sp]There is a possibility of Virmire Survivor's death by Eva Core, who we chasing on Mars. And it's gonna be in demo. BioWare won't let us change it in demo, but it's possible in full game.[/sp]
Oh lol.

I don't think Tali is an immune system at all; she's a quarian and they are anything BUT immune systems. (I know it's a misspell, i'm just having some fun)

"Finish the game on Insanity without changing difficulty after leaving Earth."
So what, we can change it while on Earth?
I like it. It's well drawn and not overly "waifu-ey"

except she's drinking a cup of coco or something through her helmet, which would probably kill her due to germ exposure.

You could always change difficulty any time in mass effect games, i'm guessing the earth is kind of like a tutorial.

Oh, that's no problem, The germs are filtered by...uh...Mass Effect Fields, Yeah that
