It should be interesting to note the differences between a "numerous casualties" Shepard and "Kaidan/Ashley" Shepard. I just need to make up my damn mind on who to kill and who to keep alive for said playthrough. Is it possible to kill all but two or three squadmates? :v: Starting to wonder just how much I'll miss out on in ME3 without Kasumi or Overlord too..
[QUOTE=One;34827498][url]http://masseffect.com/space[/url] Try and catch some early Mass Effect 3[/QUOTE] Time to catch a flight to san francisco
[QUOTE=Arachnidus;34825983]Look, they've made some arguably bad decisions business wise and some plot elements are contrived, but Mass Effect is almost universally praised for its writing. Though, I can't tell if the theme of daddy issues in ME2 was coincidental or intentional.[/QUOTE] After you play 3, remember this you made this post.
[QUOTE=Sardonus;34825169]Saren killing himself was such a great moment. Right after he did it, I thought "Noo.... YOU JUST STARTED TO SEEM DECENT."[/QUOTE] I was like "Aw fuck yeah. I knew you weren't a bad guy." and then I was sad. I wish I lived in a time like this.. though war wouldn't be glorious and there wouldn't be any redos.. man. I hate people who like war. 'I should have saved Ash..' or something. Also, how is it that all the humans in the game aren't funny at all.. seriously. In the future do we evolve to lose our sense of humor? [editline]23rd February 2012[/editline] [QUOTE=Delta616;34825801]Something tells me that kid doesn't exist, and was just a figment of Shepherd's imagination.[/QUOTE] Mass Effect isn't like that. [editline]23rd February 2012[/editline] [QUOTE=Lambeth;34828443]Time to catch a flight to san francisco[/QUOTE] Really? Are you?
[QUOTE=27X;34828900]After you play 3, remember this you made this post.[/QUOTE] So he can reflect on how right he was? [editline]23rd February 2012[/editline] [QUOTE=Errorproxy;34828921] Also, how is it that all the humans in the game aren't funny at all.. seriously. In the future do we evolve to lose our sense of humor? [/QUOTE] What sense of humour?
[QUOTE=Errorproxy;34828921] Mass Effect isn't like that. [/QUOTE] Yeah, you can't say that for a fact. :P
[QUOTE=jechtman;34798595]Hope is now restored, thanks guys.[/QUOTE] [img]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/31693224/Mass%20Effect/yus.PNG[/img] Grand total of $15 cheaper from using the Aus version of the website, can't wait to take Earth back.
[QUOTE=Delta616;34829011]Yeah, you can't say that for a fact. :P[/QUOTE] It's not very figurative. You can analyze it like literature with literary devices. But that kid was real. See we can say kid's death is a symbol of the innocence of humans in this alien society dying or something. But I'm sure the kid's there.
400 new posts since this afternoon. Mother of god...
News on Mordin, hope it's true. If someone knows otherwise correct me. [sp]Depending on what happened in the loyalty mission, he can either survive or die during the krogan princess mission. Now I just need to figure out what option would keep him alive. I'm guessing keeping the cure data would aid in his survival but I'm not sure.[/sp]

The additional research would prove useful I'd imagine.
[QUOTE=Scientastic;34829230]News on Mordin, hope it's true. If someone knows otherwise correct me. [/QUOTE] speaking of mordin i was watching this video ( contains some spoilers) and at 2:00 mordin's voice sounded a lot more like Michael beattie than mark meer's impression [url]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixk9ORP-U28[/url]

WHOA. MOTHERFUCKERS. I missed the fucking fun. ... I hate GMT +3.

Contacted late to record dialogue B. Fucking with us :v: Also, the fact that Mordin is [sp]commenting on the Prothean must mean he's around later in the game.. unless that dialogue was lifted from the krogan princess mission. I am remaining hopeful.[/sp]
[QUOTE=27X;34828900]After you play 3, remember this you made this post.[/QUOTE] why the fuck do you post in this thread if you hate the game so much are you a masochist? or are you so full of yourself that you feel the need to push your opinion onto everyone else?

Completely incorrect, but nice. Writing and gameplay elements are completely separate from each other. One of them is awesome, one of them is not. Speaking of opinions, maybe you should do some research before opening your mouth; cause the cool thing about opinions is if you back them up with data and evidence, they're much easier to defend or push forward, as you say.

I've noticed that Bioware has gone down a dark road. First they kill a little boy in the Demo (whether or not he's real, the imagery is still there), and then they killed (or implied the murder of) a little girl in new trailer. I mean what are they trying to prove here? Personally I don't care, I'm all for being able to kill children in Skyrim. Is this their way of telling people "if it's okay to watch it happen, then why isn't it okay to be the one doing it"? Either that or they really want this final game to be dramatic to the core.
[QUOTE=Errorproxy;34829557]Wow, that's expensive. Where is that?[/QUOTE] That's in AUD, which equates to about $106 USD. If I brought it in NZ (where I live) it would cost $150 NZD/$116 AUD/$124 USD. Yeah, fuck our prices.

Honestly, I'm surprised no one has done anything about it yet.

Honestly, I'm surprised no one has done anything about it yet.[/QUOTE] Some say it's shipping the games that ranks it up, others say it's the retailers setting the prices and maybe because we have a higher minimum wage than other countries. I rarely buy physical copies of games because of this since I can buy cheap CD-Keys for my average gamer PC, but for some things I love having a collectors edition of stuff.

They said before anything was even released that this iteration would be the darkest and the funniest.

[url]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/31693224/Mass%20Effect/wip.PNG[/url] I feel like I need to redo everything, especially the proportions of the Carnifex and his face (supposed to look like Sheploo... lol). Continue with this anyway? It's part of a comic strip btw. Maybe I should've used IMG tags...
[QUOTE=Pennywise;34829385]Mass Effect 2 had a special cutscene activate if you took Legion on your mission to recruit Tali, which was simply impossible for several different reasons, so you may not want to bank too hard on things like that.[/QUOTE] That's slightly easier to explain; after Mordin, all squadmates could be recruited in any order. It wasn't until pretty late in the game that the game was given some more structure with the core missions. EDIT: Nvm.
[QUOTE]backing up your opinion[/QUOTE] There's plenty already to back up what I've said, and all of it is publicly available, else I wouldn't have bothered to come to the conclusion in the first place. Being blunt != hatred. I can waste four paragraphs spitting out flowery shit-diction about the "issues in describing an dynamic narrative in our era of commoditized gaming" and the "foibles of producing a consistently entertaining yarn in heavily populated genre based on past examples, which certainly needs to make or exceed customer expectations in order to bring a thrilling conclusion to the trilogy, a proper send off for fans and developers alike". or... I can just say [quote] aside from the interpersonal dialog, the writing and plot devices in Mass Effect 3 are hee haw fucking awful, luckily the game play is spot on except for the one button does everything crap they refused to abandon. [/quote] One of those gets the point directly across, doesn't it. I'll leave you to figure out which one.
there's a difference between 'being blunt' and going out of your way to bash something for what it's worth i agree the writing in mass effect sucks, i just don't go out of my way to shove my opinion in people's faces
