It was announced 2 years ago that Legendary pictures got the rights for it, but as of now it has mostly been hush hush, i'd still in pre-production I think.

There was one about the First Contact War being made, but I haven't heard any news on it for a while. There's also a fan film with Mark Meer in it that's either out now or will be very soon.
Plus a lot of other short fan films with quite high production values. They normally turn out slightly silly or crappy, but that's just me.

The first contact war claim was dismissed, here's a QA what was posted on legendary pictures website back in august or so.

That's what Mass Effect 3 says, thus already retconned to no end, and they made the [sp]Protheans look like collectors, which is mind boggling bullshit. The visions show creatures with face tentacles. So do the statues on Ilos. Mac Walters must know it because he was always 2nd in Command of the writing team, working with the mastermind Drew Karpyshyn. Collectors are not Protheans anymore, just to a tiny fraction. Mordin says the changes were dramatically big. They share nothing in common but a few DNA fragments.[/sp]

I have to say from the demo that me3 is Jennifer Hale's best performance so far. She still lacks in emotion though.

They didn't even bother removing these sounds from the demo.
It's absurd, it's in the demo even the models and sounds, but it's cut from the full version! You have to buy it, yet it is locked in the free demo.

I did the same with ME2, but then I decided to give the DLCs a shot and they're actually quite good (only the plot ones though, the cosmetic ones can go fuck themselves) but they aren't worth THAT much, they seem like left overs, just like "Oh, we didn't add that, what about a DLC?" and /or "Oh gee they will 100% sure buy this shit! Add it asap!" so I'm not buying any of them in ME3 since ME3 supposedly finishes the story.
