Didn't the government get hounded by so many people requesting that information, PWND, that by law they had to release a statement. Which was "THEY DON'T EXIST YOU DUMBFUCKS"
Not their words, mine

Count me down as someone who was going to get the Digital Deluxe but decided to pass. I'll watch the DLC on Youtube. ME3 looks great but I don't want to support such awful business practices. CoD map packs are less egregious then cutting out major story elements of a singleplayer RPG.
It's not very figurative.
You can analyze it like literature with literary devices.
But that kid was real.
See we can say kid's death is a symbol of the innocence of humans in this alien society dying or something. But I'm sure the kid's there.
Symbolism in ME3, a game pretty much about space battles like Star Trek and stop the evil aliens from succeeding in their invasion.
Lmao sure.
We all know the kid was written in there because Bioware thought it would be a neat gimmick to add to the 'IMPACT' their little B-movie style space drama has. There's no actual literary symbolism or signifigance/thought put into it beyond that. Just like how there are explosions that happen everywhere in the first mission - awe factor and trying to dazzle the player with eye candy.
How about you wait until people have the game and can prove whether or not the [sp]prothean[/sp] is in the game as a story element with or without the DLC and only is recruitable with the DLC and then when you have that information start flipping the fuck out or calming the fuck down depending on the outcome of said events.
until then let's just agree to put it to the side...
All this Day-1 DLC shit should go into Mass Debate [sp]see what I did there?[/sp]
Got my mass effect art book in the post this morning. It's pretty damn good.
I bought the Collector Edition of Mass Effect that came with Bring down the sky and a second disk with really cool stuff like:
-The game's soundtrack.
-Every trailer released for the game.
-Documentaries detailing Mass Effect's creation, marketing and Bring Down the Sky
-Exclusive Mass Effect theme and Gamer pictures for your profile
But my personal favorite feature is the art library, with hundreds of pictures, each narrated by the artist who drew them and his thoughts on it, it was just so God damn interesting listening to the artists and seeing what the game would have looked like.

I have to point this out again, because yesterday it kinda vanished in the turmoil. How dare they to have the audacity lying to us so blatantly? "From Ashes" was deliberately cut from the game, it wasn't made by a different team when the game was finished. NO! It was already in the leak, not the mission itself, but the whole [sp]Prothean[/sp] squadmate banter, dialogues and tiny backstory and it's south-african voice which is in the AFC-sound-files since the November leak and became recently accessible due to releases of updated extraction tools. They didn't even bother removing these sounds from the demo.
Uhh, he said the "From Ashes" content was made after. for all we know the [sp]Prothean[/sp] may still show up in the full game as a Temp Squaddie (hence the banter) and the DLC just makes him a full one and adds an extra mission taking place on Eden Prime.

The fact that the site links to both EA and Bioware speaks volumes.

I'm gonna chase down the balloons on Saturday in NYC. Set my longboard up with some flywheels and for cruising, get ready to chase it and hope it doesn't land in the Hudson/East River or, may the gods have mercy, the Bronx.

So I just preordered the standard edition on Origin, any idea how long it takes to get it on my game list? I got the order confirmation email and I'm in the UK if it matters.

When I preordered the DDE yesterday it showed up immediately.
Try restarting Origin.
Funny thing is with all the bitching people are doing over ME3, most of them will still buy the game and enjoy it.
Anyone who doesn't will be missing out on what is still going to be an awesome game even if you don't buy any of the DLC.
I was in a gold difficulty match with a level 7 soldier who did nothing but try to melee the enemy. It was getting annoying getting him up every ten seconds. Then the first atlas showed up and he tried to melee that as well. It was fun to watch.
God I fucking hate this. I remember back when ME 1 was a full game and it was fucking awesome, now would you look at this shit, day one DLC is a fucking joke.
I think that's a little sensationalist right there. While I definitely agree that Bioware/EA is handling the From Ashes DLC EXTREMELY poorly, you're still getting a complete game. Mass Effect 1 was a complete game, Mass Effect 2 was twice the length of ME1 and it's a complete game (and it had Day-1 DLC), and Mass Effect 3 looks to be a complete game as well.
Now, if Bioware has any sense whatsoever, they'll do an about face and make the From Ashes DLC free to anyone who buys the game new, like they did with the Cerberus Network.

They could have avoided a lot of shit just by doing this.
