• Mass Effect Megathread: DING DONG BANNU edition

Total Biscuit has the right of it. Zaeed was motivation to buy the game new and to give BW/EA the money they deserve for producing the game in general, rather than letting megalomaniac game store get all the profit. From Ashes is a cash grab to get people to give them extra money on top of what they will already get. They set a precedent with Zaeed and that's why people, including myself, are annoyed that From Ashes is in the absurdly overpriced and difficult to acquire N7 edition exclusively. There is not a chance in hell I am giving GAME £70 for Mass Effect 3. I despise GAME as a retailer because they're overcharging and useless. I wouldn't want to give shopto.net £70 for it either, but they're actually a good website so I'd consider it. They need to add it to new copies of the regular edition for free, and apologise to N7 collectors by giving them the first real post-release DLC for free.
They REALLY should do this. They've got some apologisin' to do for the bullshit and lies, and we won't take no (or silence) for an answer.

Anyone else hope we get to see more Spectres? All we've met in the games apart from Nihlus (not his fault, he was onscreen for about two minutes) have been awesome.

Pay more money for an inferior version? Golly gee, what a deal! *canned studio laughter*

The multiplayer is excellent and I'm not expecting a coherent narrative from a demo of all things. I like the "Hitler gets angry" videos, but this one just doesn't do it for me.

yeah um thats a prettty fucking stupid ass video bud
Pay more money for an inferior version? Golly gee, what a deal! *canned studio laughter*
It's because Microsoft and Sony charge you to release a game on their systems. Companies pass the charge on to the customer.
ME3 still isn't on my Origin list and the order details show "Order Status: Order Submitted", do I need to wait for something to process?
Hmm apparently some people think that gamers are just butt hurt at the day 1 DLC. Since when did this become acceptable?
video
Lost all credibility for me when they attacked the multiplayer. Sure it needs balancing, but it's still so much fun.
Hmm apparently some people think that gamers are just butt hurt at the day 1 DLC. Since when did this become acceptable?
Not saying it's acceptable but some people are massively overreacting. But it's okay, let them throw their toys out of the pram. I'm still going to enjoy it.
Hmm apparently some people think that gamers are just butt hurt at the day 1 DLC. Since when did this become acceptable?
It can be acceptable when DLC is developed by side studio which wants to get their share of profit right away within an agreement with game developer. Other then that - well, it became accaptable along the past two-three years. 'Game industry has evolved'. It may be shameful, but first game which had that stupid kind of stuff I played was BF:BC2, cut content already on your disc, but you have to pay to unlock it. Since then I've met this shit in almost every game, and no real complaints, or boycotts, or anything.
Hmm apparently some people think that gamers are just butt hurt at the day 1 DLC. Since when did this become acceptable?
Some gamers ARE just butt hurt over it, but I actually think they have a valid point this time around. Mass Effect 2 had Day-1 DLC, sure, but it was included if you bought a new copy of the game. Here, we've got a character whose very existence is one of the biggest revelations in the entire series and not only do they relegate him to an (allegedly) unimportant DLC role, but they force non-CE owners to purchase him on Day 1 if they want it. It's just sleazy.

I hit ~90 but I'm done with the demo, don't wanna get burned out before the actual release.
The demo's fun, but I've sort of stopped playing it after I realized the characters you level up won't be portable into your game (and thus finish the "multiplayer bonus" part early.)
No. It has not been relegated to a unimportant DLC role, it is still in the actual game, just not as a Squadmate.
To my understanding, this is entirely speculation; this was brought up yesterday as a theory that seems to have gained traction. If someone can provide a citation to the contrary, please do.
Mass Effect 3 Space Shot Update: The Eagles Are Flying BioWare's Mass Effect 3 space-promotion, where the company is sending early copies of the game up to space attached to a weather balloon, is happening this morning in San Francisco. G4 has a man on the ground at the first launch site, the great Miguel Concepcion, who reports the following interesting facts. -The first package sent to space, at a little after 7 AM PST, contains 10 copies of the game: Five for the 360 and five for the PS3. -The second launch went off a little after 9 AM. -The expected landing time for each is three or four hours from launch time. -The expected landing location for the first package is Santa Cruz, CA... but the package is at the mercy of winds and fate, so don't take that as anything but a prediction. The first package, the Normandy, has landed somewhere near HWY 1, Redwood State Park & Big Basin. As yet, no one has located the package.
http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/721069/mass-effect-3-space-shot-update-the-eagles-are-flying/ No PC copies? What's up with that?
Well, looks like they're all 360 and PS3 versions I suddenly don't care about this event.
No PC copies? What's up with that?
because all pc users are dirty pirates
