Ha, as did I!
Call me insanely boring, but my first ever playthrough was a Vanderloo Soldier.
I've grown attached to him, and he's carried through ever since. Everyone always says I'm incredibly boring for doing that, but I just pretend that in ads and stuff, they're using my character.
Makes it better.
My first char was an Adept. Fun times then.
It's probably just because I like all the technology and like quarians, I can see how some would see her annoying though. To be honest I'd rather have Jacob than Vega in ME3.
Thing about Tali is, I love her character. Her development from ME1 to 2 is just great, with her less-than-pronounced growth from an eager and independent Quarian woman, new to the galaxy, to a battle hardened bitch with a heart of gold. It's why I always feel bad about not romancing her, because I just can't see myself (and, after all, Shepard is supposed to be a reflection of us, the players) being with an alien that may very well die from contact with another lifeform. Besides, the whole "we have no idea what she looks like" thing is a bit of a turn off.
And ME2 kinda seduces Chuck fans with Miranda, so I didn't really have a say in who my Shep would bang anyway. My 15 year old hormones decided for me.

I actually am stuck now
I've become attached to Miranda. But I don't wanna piss of the Shadow Broker.
Can you imagine being the Shadow Broker's ex? She'd blog all my secrets.

I usually never restrict myself to 2 people on my squad at a time, especially if I know what kind of enemy i'll be fighting.
If not then I usually just go Tali/Garrus because they are good counter-parts and overall perform pretty well against everything.

oh, if Garrus is a gay option in ME3 I am literally fucking him ASAP
I don't care if there are calibrations
I'll have Kaidan break the news to Liara
but I have been waiting 2 games to get inside his thorny ass.
Dammit I just want my ultimate bro force of Garrus, Wrex and Legion back together.

Yeah. Same.
What the hell does any of that have to do with medical science in the ME universe?
Just because you can travel across the universe at billions of MPH and do other crazy shit doesn't mean you can revive a burnt pile of ash and bone with all the memory's and personality intact.
You can't just spend billions of dollars and do the impossible.
Ah, but you can! See, there's a lot of pseudoscientific elements in ME that can explain Shepard's survival. You just have to use a bit of imagination. Of course, that can also work the other way, and you can just use your workaround of "s/he never really died", and that's fine, because that's the beauty of ME, the canon is how you want it to be. Only the general series of events is set, how they unfurl is up to the player.
In my mind, Shepard's suit locked down during reentry to Alchera (not unlike MJOLNIR armor does in Halo), which kept his body relatively intact. Cerberus was, with a lot of tissue cloning, a ridiculous amount of cybernetics (perhaps Reaper tech?) and more money than any human being can envision, able to reconstruct him/her. However, such an effort takes quite some time. You can't just slap him/her back together, the body has to adjust to the fact that it's now being supported by tons of new tissue and machinery. Two years of surgeries, genetic augmentation, and implantation, all carefully orchestrated by Miranda to preserve Shepard's brain as much as possible, and you wind up with...well, Shepard.
I wanted to romance Liara but.. I dunno, something never clicked between me and her. I think the fact that I don't know what Tali looks like and that there isn't much "physical" love makes the connection between Shepard and Tali strong.
Also through my first ME2 play through I went after Kelley (this was before I played ME1). Miranda is hot and all but I can't stand her.
Also, am I the only one who dislikes Jack? I mean as a renegade I can see how she's cool but I'm just not a huge fan of her overall.
The second installment of most trilogies is typically darker and grittier.
gotta put your characters through their darkest times so that their triumph in the third installment is greater

I really can't see Garrus being gay or bi. Besides I wouldn't want to fuck my bro.

I always felt that Liara was kind of drunk 24/7
and that sexing her was like taking advantage of a drunk girl
Commander Shepard. Hero. Soldier. Rapist.

Heh, after ME2 came out, my friend and I spent days discussing the game and what we did, and what implications it would have for ME3. When I mentioned that my Shep had screwed both Ashley and Miranda, my best friend of 5 years began to think that it was not a coincidence I made my Shepard get it on with two human centrists.
To this day, he maintains that stance.

Incredibly badass Krogan warlord who's been around for ages, seen insane shit, killed insane shit, helped kill Saren, (And for most of us, was probably by our side the whole time). And now he's king of the Krogans. Look at him. He looks hardcore. I don't wanna piss him off.

Or some bland roided up CoD protagonist reject who's completely new to the squad, and hasn't done shit for Shepard.

anyway I've been searching for a gif of Shepard(Male) and Garrus cuddling through mods

Everyone's gay for Garrus. He's just that amazing.
Speaking of romances, this came from Jessica Merizan's AMA
The team spent a lot of time and love into the romance aspect of the game to make it a real and important connection. They've done great romances for previous games (like Neverwinter Nights and its expansions like Hordes of the Underdark for example) so they knew what they were doing coming into ME. There was definitely a lot of thought that went into romancing aliens as the team wasn't sure how people would react to the idea. When they saw that people felt even MORE connected to the alien races, they implemented more romances in ME2. I can't wait for you to see what they have in store for ME3!!!
I wonder just how many love interests there will be in ME3, and how the current relationships will be resolved..

No.
To be honest, I was kind of hoping you could romance Dr. Chokwas in Mass Effect 2.

And, thanks to Bioware's reusing of model assets, Chakwas has the body of a supermodel. :q:

I hope they plan on letting us continue romances this time around. I could understand the leap in ME2 (though, Liara lovers were spared), though Ashley's reaction still annoys me (good gods woman he's been dead for two fucking years, what did you expect him to do, send you a postcard?). I guess, by extension, that would include Kaidan.
I'm just hoping that, if you romanced someone in ME2, you can continue it in 3. I'd rather have my Shepard live happily with Miranda. [sp]Sterile though she may be, though, considering the levels of fan service, it's entirely possible that can be overwritten.[/sp]

the email Shepard gets from his Mummy asking if he's alive

The toast is one of my favorite moments from ME2. Two characters, after experiencing hellish trauma, just pour Brandy and reminisce about better days.
I wish they would just not add any new characters.
I want to fight alongside my old friends.
I'm ok with not having the ME2 crew around only if they're legitimately off doing something, and not just sitting around doing nothing.
[sp] From what I've read though, they're doing just that.[/sp]
