I'm ok with not having the ME2 crew around only if they're legitimately off doing something, and not just sitting around doing nothing. [sp] From what I've read though, they're doing just that.[/sp]
"Reapers? Shepard, there's a lot of work to be done. Talk to you later."
"Reapers? Shepard, there's a lot of work to be done. Talk to you later."
I meant like, Wrex for example, off on tuchanka rolling out the krogan war machine to get ready for the reapers.

I can see Mordin and Legion doing this. I really don't see the dev team as stupid enough to just disregard everyone from ME2 with the exception of one mission

So about that geth/quarian thing [sp] From what little I've spoiled, I think I understand there to be some big show down between the geth and quarians. Can you pick which side to help? and if so, do the victors help you with the reapers later on?[/sp]
It's pretty much been confirmed the Me2 squads only coming back for a single mission each or so
Clarification: I don't see them as stupid enough to feature them in one mission, then have said character say their goodbyes or die and disappear from the game forever.

Picking a side might result in the extinction of the other, since siding with the Geth to "exterminate the Quarians" results in Tali actually killing herself.[/sp]
Clarification: I don't see them as stupid enough to feature them in one mission, then have said character say their goodbyes or die and disappear from the game forever.
I don't think that's how it's going to work. Chances are that they'll each have a mission that either focuses on them or a related issue, and everyone will have an appearance in the ending (assuming they survive). Legion might show up leading a geth fleet, Wrex might lead a ground assault, etc.
It doesn't help that Shepard's brain is apparently immortal and can survive falling through a planet's atmosphere.
I have a feeling it's because his brain/skull was protected by his helmet... maybe.
I have a feeling it's because his brain/skull was protected by his helmet... maybe.
We'll note that his helmet was fully intact when we recover it at the crash site and, barring the chunk Legion ripped off, his torso armor appeared to be intact as well.
[sp]But will the geth be my allies if I get rid of the quarians or will they still be enemies?[/sp]
[sp]The Geth side with you fully, as do the Quarians if you side with them. There's probably conditions you could meet to make both sides allied though.[/sp]
[sp]The Geth side with you fully, as do the Quarians if you side with them. There's probably conditions you could meet to make both sides allied though.[/sp]
Excellent. [sp] bye bye quarians, don't need you any more.[/sp]
What the fuck!? I was playing ME2 and I decided to do Jacob's loyalty quest. This was after the final mission (Somehow this fucker survived even though I tried to get him killed). At the end of it Miranda shows up in the call to TIM. Shes dead... She came back from a destroyed collector base for a call...
[sp]The Geth side with you fully, as do the Quarians if you side with them. There's probably conditions you could meet to make both sides allied though.[/sp]
[sp]There is text leaked to suggest that there is a way to get both to co-exist[/sp]
Excellent. [sp] bye bye qurians, don't need you any more.[/sp]
Don't be surprised if that decision fucks you over in some way. Myself, I'm taking all the help I can get, regardless of whether or not I like the group in question.
What the hell does any of that have to do with medical science in the ME universe? Just because you can travel across the universe at billions of MPH and do other crazy shit doesn't mean you can revive a burnt pile of ash and bone with all the memory's and personality intact. You can't just spend billions of dollars and do the impossible.
Shepard's body was obviously intact when they found him - just with some degree of vacuum damage, frostbite, and a lot of broken bones. During ME2's intro, Shepard was exposed to: -Shrapnel from the exploding Normandy. This is likely what caused his suit's air to fail in the first place. Non-life threatening due to the use of medi-gel, even if it did penetrate. -Partial vacuum, for the two minutes it took him to fall into the planet's atmosphere. This is probably what killed him (or her.) -Tons of heat from re-entry, depending on how fast the Normandy was moving when he fell out of it. By the end of ME1, most players were in possession of high-level armor, with shields capable of taking enormous amounts of damage. It's entirely possible that these shields, coupled with the armor's innate heat resistance, protected Shepard fully from this. -Physical damage from the landing. People have survived terminal-velocity falls with no personal protection at all - couple that with a thick atmosphere, shields, interfering surface winds and potentially low planet gravity, and you can more or less discount such injuries, though they obviously were responsible for bone breakage. At several points in ME1, your team is shown making low-altitude jumps onto planet surfaces, so military armor most likely uses mass-effect fields as "parachutes" to some degree. -Cell damage from freezing. Repairable with the use of nanobots, so long as the subject stays frozen. The brain's memory is mostly physical. As long as the brain wasn't turned to mush by any of the hazards listed above, it's entirely possible for a technologically advanced hospital to fully recreate Shepard. Whether or not it's the same consciousness is an entirely different (and inconsequential) matter.
I can make any stupid story decision I want
And look fabulous doing it.
it's okay as long as I have my army of pink krogan I can make any stupid story decision I want
Team FAAAAAAABULOUS!

I was JUST about to post that but I couldn't find it
Playing through Mass Effect 2 again in preperation! I'm going with an Adept this time, because soldier is just too straightforward. Rip and tear, rip and tear. I want to fling and smash! Paragon, because that's the only way to do a real playthrough. Keep everybody alive, make Liara the Shadowbroker (and then bang her), destroy the human reaper, save the Geth, etc, etc.

I thought they were stupidly lame, but now that I'm playing one, they're like invincible adepts with glowy armor and tech abilities and they still get 'throw,' which is basically the best skill in the series. couple it with Jacob's pull at the same time to send groups of enemies flying out of the map.
