anyone remember robocop 2?
I'd buy that for a dollar!
Robocop? Wasn't that the real-life documentary of law enforcement in the city of Detroit?
I hate the Thorian level in Mass Effect 1. Asari clones just make my body limp and Thorian Creepers destroy me.
I hate the Thorian level in Mass Effect 1. Asari clones just make my body limp and Thorian Creepers destroy me.
I used to get annoyed by the Asari Clones. Then I played Vanguard and gave them a taste of their own medicine.
I don't think she's really a public figure and I don't think her writing is any worse than bioware as a whole.
She is public enough for people to take notice of her and for her to respond. She could easily sit in her job and only be an observer of the community, but as long as she tries to put her thoughts forward and singles herself out, she will get backlash and criticism. Few places can you post stupid shit and expect everyone to love it. She is pretty bad, but she is not the root of all bad writing, you are right on that. Few other people noticeably put themselves out there though and it's easier to feel emotion to a person than a company. She is the embodiment of bad writing at Bioware just like Stanly Woo is the embodiment of their horrible community relations. She only makes it worse by crying victim when she is just a conduit, do you think Gabe is worried about everyone blaming him delays or Kotick personally sets up all the money grubbing?
You enter the system [sp]just in time to see the Migrant Fleet in the middle of a massive free-for-all against the Geth, complete with a Geth dreadnought smack dab in the middle of it (and it's lolhuge.) Picking a side might result in the extinction of the other, since siding with the Geth to "exterminate the Quarians" results in Tali actually killing herself.[/sp]
[sp]Well it would hardly be extinction if there was still one alive on your ship, she's just finishing the job. Honestly I don't give a shit about the Quarians. It's a no brainer choice in a dichotomy so it's just a matter of how achievable the super-awesome-mary-sue option is and if it has any downsides.[/sp]
How timely is EA when it comes to delivering physical copies of their games when they get released? I pre-ordered a physical copy of the collector's edition and I really want know if it will be on my doorstep on release day.
I used to get annoyed by the Asari Clones. Then I played Vanguard and gave them a taste of their own medicine.
vanguard was the best class in ME1, bar none. it's a shame shotguns are terrible and their abilities suck in ME2
vanguard was the best class in ME1, bar none. it's a shame shotguns are terrible and their abilities suck in ME2
I miss weapon abilities, carnage was fucking boss.
Does anyone know all the love interests for Mass Effect 3 or is it still (somewhat) a mystery?
Does anyone know all the love interests for Mass Effect 3 or is it still (somewhat) a mystery?
Romances from ME1 and ME2 are continued, with James Vega, Diane Allers, and the shuttle pilot as new romances. That's all the new ones, unless I'm mistaken.
Does anyone know all the love interests for Mass Effect 3 or is it still (somewhat) a mystery?
All romances from the previous carry over. Vega isn't a romance as far as I know. The Reporter and the dude why drives the shuttle are now romances. There might be more but I can't remember.
Playing through Mass Effect 2 again in preperation! I'm going with an Adept this time, because soldier is just too straightforward. Rip and tear, rip and tear. I want to fling and smash! Paragon, because that's the only way to do a real playthrough. Keep everybody alive, make Liara the Shadowbroker (and then bang her), destroy the human reaper, save the Geth, etc, etc.
Soldier is very dull compared to the other class's abilities.
M... Just finished ME3 preparing run, both ME and ME2 as chaotic mixed soldier Shepard male (can't convince myself to play femShep, she kinda looks second-thought to me). Ran out of names in my previous games, so just had to name him Martin. I'm now in question but I don't want to put enormous amount of time to run it again and find out - if I don't recruit Garrus in my team in ME, how's Archangel recruitment mission turn out in ME2? Edit: Oh god does it suck playing LotSB as soldier, just so fucking boring with no biotics and tech powers...
I would have called it something like "Everyone's a Critic edition" but that might just be because I don't get the title http://c7r.de/M413
The brain's memory is mostly physical. As long as the brain wasn't turned to mush by any of the hazards listed above, it's entirely possible for a technologically advanced hospital to fully recreate Shepard. Whether or not it's the same consciousness is an entirely different (and inconsequential) matter.
Indeed; whether or not Shepard's original mind is the one in his new cyborg head is irrelevant. What matters is that he is still under the influence of an extradimensional entity of unknowable power, and in that respect our hands are still on his leash, or more appropriately, still pulling his strings.
Soldier is very dull compared to the other class's abilities.
Seems so; Soldier is mostly Shooty McBang-bang, whereas Sentinel has their protective Tech Armour, Vanguard charges into battle with "I WILL DESTROY YOU!" up in this grill, Adept is Telekinetic Jedi Wizard sans the Lightsaber (admit it, Liara hacking up dudes with a Lightsaber would be so cool), Infiltrator is such a gentlemanly murderiser, and Engineer's the super tech-guy/wrench wench.
Romances from ME1 and ME2 are continued, with James Vega, Diane Allers, and the shuttle pilot as new romances. That's all the new ones, unless I'm mistaken.
the leaked script pointed to a girl named samantha traynor as another romance option but a lot of people on /v/ have been saying that she was cut here is a link that contains the romance dialogue for her http://dana-duchovny.livejournal.com/216933.html

[thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16768161/Guess%20who%20left%20-_-.png[/thumb] dat ass all asses. [editline]24th February 2012[/editline]
Umm... the Me3 squad has been confirmed. -Tali Zorah (GRRR) -Garrus Vakarian -Virmire Survivor -Liara T'soni -James Vega -[sp]South African Protheans[/sp] Personally, I think Vega's bullshit. He seems like a roided up Gears style guy, that they're trying to pass as my new Krogan. ALSO... why have the entire ME1 team and then abandon Wrex? Seriously? Don't give me the "oh he can die" excuse, cause so can Garrus and Tali. And to busy with the Krogans? Bitch, we got reapers to deal with! Haul ass, Wrex.
You forgot one, and boy is it an oy vey even more than the now-not-dead space dude. [editline]24th February 2012[/editline]
We'll note that his helmet was fully intact when we recover it at the crash site and, barring the chunk Legion ripped off, his torso armor appeared to be intact as well.
It's still ridiculous even in the ME universe. He would have burnt completely up and been smashed unusably flat in the thin ass atmosphere. Pretty much that whole scenario was the beginning of the end to where we are now. "We have to kill Shep to reset his/her stats and owe cerberus" If someone had the common sense to say at that meeting "No, that's completely fucking stupid" we might be in a much better spot now. If they just HAD to use it, it should have been a cliffhanger ending, with it turning out that Shep didn't get blowed up after all.
One thing I never got about mass effect. Why would the ultimate sentient space ship need arms? The fuck?
Considering they shoot beams of death from those arms I'd imagine the flexibility would come in handy (they're still terribly vulnerably from above) [editline]24th February 2012[/editline]
Well, if I find I'm unable to save both [sp]I'm definitely taking out the Quarians, those fuckers just won't admit their mistake. No remorse.[/sp]
I haven't played the SP Demo yet, should I? I'm scared it'll spoil me or something and just want to leave it to the full game.
There's hardly any major spoilers, everything you see in it has already been covered in articles about the game
It's still ridiculous even in the ME universe. He would have burnt completely up and been smashed unusably flat in the thin ass atmosphere. Pretty much that whole scenario was the beginning of the end to where we are now.
I think I addressed that fairly well. Also, I checked out the planet itself; .85 ATM for atmospheric pressure, and .85 earth's gravity - meaning less re-entry heat, but otherwise similar terminal velocity to Earth.
Shepard's body was obviously intact when they found him - just with some degree of vacuum damage, frostbite, and a lot of broken bones. During ME2's intro, Shepard was exposed to: -Shrapnel from the exploding Normandy. This is likely what caused his suit's air to fail in the first place. Non-life threatening due to the use of medi-gel, even if it did penetrate. -Partial vacuum, for the two minutes it took him to fall into the planet's atmosphere. This is probably what killed him (or her.) -Tons of heat from re-entry, depending on how fast the Normandy was moving when he fell out of it. By the end of ME1, most players were in possession of high-level armor, with shields capable of taking enormous amounts of damage. It's entirely possible that these shields, coupled with the armor's innate heat resistance, protected Shepard fully from this. -Physical damage from the landing. People have survived terminal-velocity falls with no personal protection at all - couple that with a thick atmosphere, shields, interfering surface winds and potentially low planet gravity, and you can more or less discount such injuries, though they obviously were responsible for bone breakage. At several points in ME1, your team is shown making low-altitude jumps onto planet surfaces, so military armor most likely uses mass-effect fields as "parachutes" to some degree. -Cell damage from freezing. Repairable with the use of nanobots, so long as the subject stays frozen. The brain's memory is mostly physical. As long as the brain wasn't turned to mush by any of the hazards listed above, it's entirely possible for a technologically advanced hospital to fully recreate Shepard. Whether or not it's the same consciousness is an entirely different (and inconsequential) matter.

It's still ridiculous even in the ME universe. He would have burnt completely up and been smashed unusably flat in the thin ass atmosphere.
No, not really. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xE71aKXjss0]Remember the dude that parachuted down from the edge of Earth's atmosphere? Dude fell down, reaching almost the speed of sound, and yet somehow he was not burnt up and smashed flat. Saying he had no parachute is moot because lots of people have survived terminal velocity falls before. " reaching a maximum speed of 614 miles per hour (988 km/h)" Also Atmospheric pressure for Alchera is 0.82 times that of earth, and Gravity is 0.85 times that of earth, so slower fall speed but less wind resistance ultimately balances itself out.
There's hardly any major spoilers, everything you see in it has already been covered in articles about the game
Despite being a gamer and a major fan of games like Mass Effect, I have never in my entire life read any articles about any game ever, only the announcements of said games and their release date. So, I'm totally in the dark on most things on ME3 save for the multiplayer that I played in the Demo and general things like day 1 DLC I guess.

You can avoid the spoiler ones well enough.
Buy the game and not the DLC. Enjoy game, and show them that we like your game but hate this DLC shit. We can basically pick and choose here.
Buy the game and not the DLC. Enjoy game, and show them that we like your game but hate this DLC shit. We can basically pick and choose here.
Its sad because this DLC shit will further encourage pirating. I hate how EA turned this game into a money cow.
This thread has ~300 new posts every morning i wake up, and each day i read all posts. Anyway, just finished ME2 again, fast walkthrough. I looked my save files and noticed, that [sp]Kirrahe died on Virmire[/sp] :< Because of this i had to run the game again, did it on easy (MY GOD) with all side quests... Now i dont know what to do these 2 weeks. Will continue to read this thread till release.
I hope those mass effect space copies get caught in the jetstream
