Will Legion be available as a squadmate in ME3 or is it not known yet?

Legion [sp]will die during the events of ME3. You upload his free will codes to cure the heretic virus. Isn't it silly? It's a machine, what happened to backups?[/sp] I'm sorry to tell you this.
Will Wrex come back and be my bro again? Or am I going to get paired up with Grunt (I do admit I prefer his look over the regular krogan.)? Or are they not going to be in my squad?
Hey, let's take legion with us to floatilla. What's the worst that could happen ?

woops
To be honest it's pretty stupid they allowed Legion onboard at all, Tali or not. I liked the extra dialogue etc but it just didn't make sense.
Probably not much, I can't see the DLC decisions affecting much at all.
Arrival.

I dunno if Commander Shepard gave me an ultimatum like that, especially with the renegade option, I'd let him do whatever the fuck he wanted.
You don't fuck with Commander Shepard. That fucker has, by that point, killed a Thresher Maw and a Geth COLOSSUS on foot. A squad of Quarian marines? Won't even break a sweat.
I remember reading somewhere that even if you didn't buy the DLCs in ME3, it is assumed that you've completed them. So all events in DLC happens regardless.
So yeah, they're important.
Y'know, I've seen this argument come up many times before with the "Mass Effect 2 is worthless!" and my response is usually the same every time. People really need to STOP looking at ME2 for its relevance to the overall story arc of the Reaper threat, and instead look at its relevance to the characters and to the large subplots such as the Quarian/Geth conflict and the Genophage project, both of which were MASSIVELY expanded in Mass Effect 2.
I know this is late, but I had to respond to this. Mass Effect 2's plot was pretty thin, but it was pretty good when you realize the focus is on building a team. What's the point in building up all these characters just for them to get 1-2 short appearances and 1 mission in ME3? A few of those missions were important (like legion, mordin, and tali's loyalty missions), but that's just a few out of many. Aside from generic sidequests, the game consists of 6 "main story" missions, 7 recruitment missions, and 12 loyalty missions. About three quarters of the game is based on this team. You helped your team deal with their problems...just for them to do their own thing in ME3? I agree some could have important roles, but some of them don't join you against all reason.
One mistake many people seem to make is if a character has something important to do at one time, it means they can't be a squadmate period. Legion? He has to deal with the geth/quarian conflict! Mordin? He's got to deal with the genophage! People don't seem to realize these conflicts will have to be resolved at some point, and then why don't they join you after? Even further, the justification goes out the window when you realize how some of the shepard's actual team have incredibly important responsibilities. Why do people expect Legion, a geth of all things, to be physically present with other geth to lead them, and yet [sp]Tali is an admiral and she joins your squad just for the fun of it [/sp] ?
I just have a bad feeling this thread , shortly after ME3's release, will have a bunch of posts asking "Is my favorite character on the squad?", and quite a large number of the responses will have to be "We have some bad news for you..."
Interesting how even that short snippet of text reveals more of Shepard's personality than the entirety of the first two games (save for LotSB).
I always liked shepard because he's a bit dumb, but sometimes shines with diplomacy etc
Arrival.
It had one decision, which doesn't seem to affect the outcome either way.

LotSB had no decisions, Overlord is pretty much the only one that might be important.
Didn't care for Tali in ME1. On my first playthrough it was interesting to talk to her to find about about the Quarians though. But in ME2 god damn she was annoying. I just stopped talking to her after a while because every time I tried to talk with her she always steered the conversation towards wanting to bang me. God damnit Tali, no means no for the third time!
[sp]Definitely going to side with the Geth, unless the option to save both presents itself at the same time.[/sp]

The only Quarian I like is Kalreegar and I think it's a shame how they got Adam Baldwin to voice a frail alien that dies as soon as it takes off its mask.

As I recall [sp] choosing whether or not to alert the Batarians during the escape had some effect in ME3[/sp]
Though I can't say how or to what end, as I try not to read spoilers.

[sp]So you're going to murder a species because one of them had romantic tendencies towards her captain?[/sp]
Also I don't see how she was in the 'i want your dick' territory for the whole game. It was only like, just before the suicide mission that she even somewhat hinted at unf unf.
She was doing it for the whole game for me.
[sp]And yes, pretty much. I am Commander Shepard, I will destroy the Quarians so they stop coming on to me[/sp]
On my main play through, I was 100% paragon, except I didn't save the destiny ascension and I think I did save the collector base.

I think bioware added all the ridiculous dialogue that didn't make sense, to mock people who "cheated".
Or can you actually leave Tali's loyalty mission until the very end? It's been a while since I last played ME2.

Yeah, you can.
Then I'll definitely do that for my renegade shep when I get around to doing it.

Recycle bin. :v:
I never understood how someone can let their desktop fill up like that, I never have more then a row.
[sp]I don't want EITHER the Quarians or the Geth to be wiped out. I hope to god there's a "Save both" option and, if renegade, it's got some hilarious thing like Shepard blowing up one each of a Geth and Quarian ship with the Normandy and pretty much going "GOD DAMN YOU GUYS SHUT UP FUCK. LOOK. REAPERS. YOUR PETTY CONFLICT STOP IT NOW" or something. Like when he shouted down the Admiralty Board.
Though in both of my playthroughs I did and plan to fully support peace between the Geth and Quarians.[/sp]

[sp]I was under the impression that, if you handle it "perfectly," Tali, Legion and their respective races CAN survive Mass Effect 3. But it's hard to achieve.[/sp]

[sp]Yes you can make it so there is peace between Quarians/Geth, but apparently Legion dies no matter what you do.[/sp]
