100 mbit down Estonian master race. Imagine how fast the internet would be in mass effect, considering it would be in the entire galaxy. And imagine then ping you would get.
Cunt. I could order 100 mbit but I aint gonna pay more (even though it's cheap as shit).
Dammit! I only got to pork Tali in ME2, in ME3 I want to fuck the entire cast at once! Even the ones that died!

Look mom I'm at the first page.
Thought it was weird that there was no posts for an hour. Then i remembered Garrys new policy Anyway, I got my GPU back (It was the goddamn hdmi cable) so i finally got to try the Amalur demo. It was fun, Although not without some bugs, mostly audio and movement. Might get it later. And there is now 36 days left until release
13 days till demo :quagmire:
Awwww shit, can't wait to get my Shepard on.
Actually the Codex states pretty clearly otherwise because of relativistic concerns. Even with the relays communication isn't instantaneous unless the two sources are relatively close together, but the ME cutscenes completely ignore their own shit and stuff happens instantaneously, esp with Illusive Man, even the Quantum Entangled Comm is supposed to be bidirectional but only have one signal per instance, one way on or off. "science" The extranet is the ME version of the internet, and it functions like the internet right down to lag. The backstory clearly states that a lot of data is stored locally to ease traffic over relativistic differences.
cynical
Hardly. Some people simply see past the self entitlement and marketing hype and view the game as just that, a game. While combat and usability have steadily improved, the story has not, and in a couple of facets has completely lost focus compared to what the game was supposed to be about in the beginning. As one of the few BSNtard level players psyched FOR multiplayer mostly because of the guidance of Manveer, and some other ex-Raven folks, I have plenty to look forward to, but the story, even from an external view is bad in implementation and contains elements even cheerleaders at BSN can't ignore. Most of the squadmates people want to play on an ongoing basis with are removed from doing so, and their replacements range from extremely derivative to marketing derived to deviantart fetish pr0n. On top of that it's fairly clear they've written themselves into a corner, and the main villains are going to lose a shit ton of their menace to accommodate for it. So while all the elements and technical bedrock that frame the story seems to be in pretty good shape, the main reason the game exists in the first place is now put together with tape and glue and clothespins, and the vehicles supporting that reason have been limited or turned into caricatures of themselves. Good and bad abound, and people are simply commenting as they see it.

You can sorta say this about a lot of trilogies. The second act is usually a more personal story that plays more to characters than the overall plot. Kinda like how The Empire Strikes Back focused more on Luke's jedi knight training, Luke finding out Darth Vader is his father, Han and Leia's relationship, and Han's debt with Jabba getting him caught by Boba. All of these are more personal stories that don't really directly effect the series' story of "Blow up the death star, blow up the other death star, and kill the emperor", but without them the movies would be bland and uninteresting.

Seriously though, It seems unfair to judge the purpose of the middle part of a story without even knowing the entirety of the end part. If anything, I would say Mass Effect 2 was to set the stage for Cerberus' involvement, the fate of the Protheans (even though it had little impact), and showing how Reapers 'reproduce' (which may even be a clue to their overall goal). But it all comes back to waiting until Mass Effect 3 comes out to make proper judgements. I mean, come on.
and that's complete bullshit when basically all of those characters aren't around much in the finale
Are you saying that about Star Wars or Mass Effect? Because in both cases, everyone is back for the finale... Also, this:
Fancervix cameo does not necessarily equal "back for the finale"; and again, spending time, resources, and effort on new chars that are nowhere near as anticipated as returning ones is a clear run around of resources that could have been better spent on refining what was available.

Its Me3's problem. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm pissed about it too. But ME2's character driven stories would have mattered more if ME3 chose to give returning characters larger parts. I'm not saying the series is infallible, just that its not ME2 that's messing it up.
ME2 sets up the story for ME3. How is it not ME2's fault? If you set a game that allows you to kill of characters + the whole highlight of the game series was the power of choice, isn't that a bit of a problem?
ME2 sets up the story for ME3. How is it not ME2's fault?
I don't get the point you're making. ME2 sets up ME3, yes. But if ME3 fails to follow up on it well, you can't rightly blame ME2 for that.

I was looking for this exact image the other day! This feels especially true when you get to keep NONE of the badass team you spent the majority of ME2 building up.
DING DONG BANNU edition
If I had posted something like this a few months ago you motherfuckers would have crucified me, now it's the thread title. How times change.
But a lot of the characters in ME2 form major contacts in ME3, don't they? Like Mordin and the [sp]Krogan Princess[/sp]. I'm guessing that a lot of the squadmates and other characters from ME2 will be distributed throughout the galaxy in ME3 to act as contacts for parts of the story.

For the greater good.

Wait, why do the streets on the Citadel look like Paris?
Wait, why do the streets on the Citadel look like Paris?
Probably someone that used Paris as a base and then photoshopped stuff into it. Also i don't think Paris is in Near Earth orbit

Uhh, that's (major spoiler) [sp]kind of revealing the Citadel is moved to Earth near the end of the game.[/sp]
Wait, why do the streets on the Citadel look like Paris?
Photoshop? [editline]1st February 2012[/editline]
Uhh, that's (major spoiler) [sp]kind of revealing the Citadel is moved to Earth near the end of the game.[/sp]
[sp]That's too near, I think[/sp]
Wait, why do the streets on the Citadel look like Paris?
But it's moon? [editline]2nd February 2012[/editline] At least looks like it [editline]2nd February 2012[/editline] I mean, why else would Terra be there?
The Endings are literally: [sp]Dark Age Ending.[/sp] [sp]Illuminati Ending.[/sp] [sp]Helios Ending.[/sp] [editline]2nd February 2012[/editline]
Uhh, that's (major spoiler) [sp]kind of revealing the Citadel is moved to Earth near the end of the game.[/sp]
But it's too late to snip with two people quoting it, one of them being you. Still want me to snip?
