Well yeah, but I'd imagine Vanderloo has a bit of an accent. Not that that'd kill it for me, I think it'd be pretty cool, just that it might make things a slightly odd.

Problem is that while Mark Vanderloo obviously looks the part, he's a model, not an actor.
Vanderloo would be a shit actor and compressing a 20 hour game into an hour and half movie will be as shitty as it sounds.

I agree. When they try to transfer the protagonist of any videogame into live action, it never looks quite right. Skryim, had this problem, Halo 3: ODST had this problem...
