Every squadmate and ship member surviving the Suicide Mission will boost your galactic readiness by [sp]25[/sp] points. Judging that some plot relevant goals can bring up to [sp]15000[/sp] points it still seems low. If they die they get replaced nonetheless.
Many choices have no influence on how the game progresses.

I find it hilarious that squadmembers are 25 points each if they survived.
And the Collector Base decisions have a difference of 10 points. So squadmates surviving are more important than the ultimate decision in ME2.
