Just because the Reapers say their motives are incomprehensible doesn't mean they are. I knew from the start that the Reapers just underestimated our ability to understand. They're giant machine gods and think of us as insects.

Not to nitpick or anything, but is it just me or does that water look like absolute ass ? Unreal engine can do some pretty nice looking water, why does this look like crap.

Actually I think the water looked much better on the XBox demo I played, but it was a while ago. I think you may just have some sort of technical error.

What if the Reapers never actually made it back to the Galaxy, each part of the trilogy being attempts to keep them from coming back while fighting against Reaper threats (Collectors) with the final part of the trilogy being the battle with Sovereign?
Saren and Sovereign as the recurring villains in the ME series would've been interesting, to be honest, and would've made Sovereign's death and Saren's suicide that much more memorable.

I mean we take the Saren+Shepard relationship concept a /v/ or BSN guy posted a while ago and expand it, Saren goes from increasingly distant ally in ME1, to turncoat and manipulator in ME2, to outright villain in ME3. Sovereign goes from bogeyman in ME1, to nightmarish Eldritch Abomination in ME2, to "Oh god he's actually gonna do it" enemy in ME3.
Basically make Sovereign "Space Sauron." He's generally cunning and insidious but overbearingly powerful when he realizes he needs to do the work himself. It would make the whole Conduit plot and "race to the Citadel" all the more vital because we've been building up to this the entire game.
