James Vega makes me keep thinking his going to do a 360 spin and act like Brucie from GTA IV. "Commander, check out these guns, babes dig this shit I'm hyped bro"
What class are you playing as?
Soldier. I was a Soldier in ME1 and I'm carrying him through to Me3. He's a Vanderloo shepard hurr I'm so original Actually though, I was a lazy fuck when playing Mass Effect 1, after dicking around in the character creator I couldn't forge anything decent so I rolled Vanderloo.
Wow, just learned the fun of using the save editor to bring companions on missions they technically can't go on. For example, bringing Tali on the quest where you get Mordin and such. Amazed that BioWare bothered recording dialogue for when those companions go even though they can't.
Well, the original game was designed to be a bit more open-ended. You were supposed to be able to recruit any team member after Freedom's Progress. With the Xbox 360 requiring 2 discs, they had to make the game a bit more linear, hence why the dossiers are divided into two parts.
so is ME3 even worth it
so is ME3 even worth it
The ending is a shitstorm in all possible definitions of the word the gameplay will probably be fantastic There'll be great characters and funny moments A cool open ended story, fun missions You'll get your money's worth, I'm sure of it but the ending will make you homicidal
Not to mention the MP is addictive as fuck.

I really don't. I would've been so excited for this game but... I'm excited for the gameplay, and everything leading up to it... but goddamnit Bioware that ending is shit.
so is ME3 even worth it
Do you like MP? Do you like the combat in general?

I've beaten the game twice on insanity (I'm crazy like that), once as infiltrator once as engineer, it actually wasn't that bad when you figured out which powers and weapons were the most effective for the situation. Also NG+ helps out a fuck ton.
A cool open ended story
Yeah, sure.

My standard team is Garrus/Miranda, because that covers most of my bases. Soldier was more fun in ME1. Back to shitstorm talk: I'm really interested to see what Bioware will have to say about the ending. I want to hear their justifications and whatnot.
Do you like MP? Do you like the combat in general?
The bulk of the story looks to be pretty decent, and the dialogue is still top-notch. The endings just put a damper on things, and that's being charitable.
What I REALLY want to know, is whether or not this ending was planned from the very beginning or just something that the new writers added.
I've read most of the leaks and at this point I don't really care about the ending anymore, I already have the digital deluxe preordered and I'm going to try to enjoy the game for what it is. Also after hearing more of the leaked dialogue I'm starting to really like Fridge Largemeat and [sp]Brothean[/sp]

I'm trying, but I feel the whole experience will be spoiled. I don't think I really care anymore about the journey, or the epic struggle Shepard will go through when I know it's going to end up the way it will. Also, I remember many threads ago, someone said "I bet Me3 will end in a way where no one will be happy." You were right.
What I REALLY want to know, is whether or not this ending was planned from the very beginning or just something that the new writers added.
Hudson planned these endings since before 3. And no, I won't tell you how I know.

As long as the gameplay's fun, the dialogue is interesting, and the missions are memorable then I won't care about the endings, to be honest. Complaining about the game's story won't make it better, just have fun with what you can and leave after it's over. Hit it and quit it, essentially.

But I'd be a liar if I said that. These endings really do crush me. [editline]2nd March 2012[/editline]
Hudson planned these endings since before 3.
The bulk of the story looks to be pretty decent, and the dialogue is still top-notch. The endings just put a damper on things, and that's being charitable.
The intersquadmate dialog is pretty good, the combat stuff is ok. Some of the contextual stuff is gold. The twist and expository dialog and writing is pretty bad, and so is most of the binary occurrence dialog. Plot and thematic writing, no comment.
I wish I could agree. But I'd be a liar if I said that. These endings really do crush me.
You could say the same about the ending of Return of the King, where it's like 3 chapters of epilogue with minor sub-conflicts along the way, ending on a 4-5 page chapter that's essentially what should've happened 4 chapters ago.
I expect more cleavage in Mass effect 3.
They have a reporter just for you.

I'm so glad they're giving us the choice to change the colour of the lights on the armor now. You can make some pretty slick color combinations now that you don't have to stay with the default blue lights from ME2. I was experimenting with different colours awhile back, and I thought this combinations looked pretty sick. Shame it's a pain in the ass to customize lights in multiplayer because of the small chance of getting a character card for the class you want from several crates. I hope they tweaked this for the full game. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/qZZvO.jpg[/thumb]
...Just saw the gay sex scene That was awfully done.
So many writers can't seem to grasp the concept of "good endings" video games are the worst for this
the endings are fine to me I always wanted grimdark
the endings are fine to me I always wanted grimdark
Hooray for you, excuse us while the other 90% of the fanbase fills the globe with anger-vomit.
Hooray for you, excuse us while the other 90% of the fanbase fills the globe with anger-vomit.
surely there could have been more variety, but don't tell me you expected WE SAVED THE WORLD, SHEPARD BANG THESE 30 ASARI
surely there could have been more variety, but don't tell me you expected WE SAVED THE WORLD, SHEPARD BANG THESE 30 ASARI
I never expected that. Like, 3 asari, maybe.
surely there could have been more variety, but don't tell me you expected WE SAVED THE WORLD, SHEPARD BANG THESE 30 ASARI
I was not, and would be kinda angry if that was an ending, I was just hoping for more than [sp]there being more than one ending where every character you've gotten to know over the game or last two die, along with Shepard[/sp] I would prefer a more "There have been a ton of deaths, earth is fucked, so is Palaven, Thessia, Sur kesh, and everywhere else, but atleast we're doing better off than [sp]the people in the ending the devs originally planned for us[/sp]
