Principles aside, it's just another client. Some people have a lot of issue with it, and some have no issue at all. Much like people with Steam. That being said if you've used Steam for awhile Origin is going to seem dated and unnecessary, count on that regardless of any issues you do/do not have with the client itself.
Also, EA support is god awful. So there is that too.

It's not a very heavy feature client like Steam, but it's really light and easy to use for something that is still in beta.

The principle is the issue. EA just wants everything. All of it. They should stick the company on basketballs wives and get it over with, honestly.
Just noticed the ME3 main menu (the demo at least) quietly plays the Vigil theme if you stay on it long enough. It's faint, but you can distinctly hear it between all the other sounds that's going on.

Pretty sure that was debunked a few weeks ago.
One thing I like about origin is that you don't have to play with the overlay constantly on. I went through DA:O this past week by just double clicking the application in the game folder. Didn't even start up Origin.

I went from optimism to "ruined forever" but now, with the demo and the recent videos coming out, it's back to knowing I'll probably love the game.
If you completely ignore the overall story, it's great.
I just want the fucking game to come out already so I can see for myself if the game is worth it in the end. This thread is such a roller coaster, one page were ejaculating to the new videos and screenshots, and then on another page, where more tid bits of information gets released, everyone is like "WHY BIOWARE WHY!?" .

i couldn't finish mass effect 2. i think i finished the first.
i just can't play it because there's absolutely no gun porn action camera angles in the game, and the weapon selection sucks shit. also i couldn't be shitted about anything that was really going on. then all of a sudden i heard a mooo i mistook for a hum, took it out of my ps3 and i have not played it since.
the combat just lacks any oomph it's almost like hellgate london's combat. i couldn't find any motivation for playing it.

You can say a lot about Bioware or Mass-Effect, but I highly doubt they'd completely gut the most important feature of Mass-Effect.

That's quite logical for them to do that. ME and ME2 has got people's attention to the series, an awful lot of people will buy ME3 - so why bother? Less work on the game - same amount of money. Even better as you don't have to pay for voice acting as much, so more money saved.

Because they know a lot is riding on ME3, think about it. Bioware and Mass-Effect is EA's Biggest thing, and this is obviously their biggest investment so far, atleast for Bioware. I highly doubt they'd fuck it all up.
Who knows though, I'm just having a little faith, We'll see on the 6th.

Anyway, this is how you unlock the game early on Origin (For those who haven't done it before)
1. Download FlyVPN
2. Get the Free trial username and password from here: [url]http://www.flyvpn.com/freetrial[/url]
3. Log in to Origin under your NORMAL IP. This is important.
4. When Origin is loaded up go to your VPN and connect, pick the Asia tab at the top and pick Hong Kong
5. Click play on Mass Effect 3, it'll do the date and time check
6. When it's activated disconnect from the VPN
7. Exit Origin and turn it back on again
8. Enjoy the game before nearly everyone else.
Players from the USA should be activating the game 16 hours before others, and people from the UK/Europe will be getting it 4 days before hand.[/QUOTE]
