I don't understand the hype behind this series. I just tried the demo and I quit after 15 minutes. The game lost my attention right from the beginning with the over-used "everything is in chaos" opener. I loathe that shit, it was cool when it was done with Halo:CE, but that was 11 years ago. Whenever I start up a game and I get this cliche from the start, I can make a pretty reasonable assumption that the rest of the game won't keep me interested either because the people behind it couldn't think of anything more original than the most overused opener. The only recent exception to this imo was "Human Revolution", beginning still sucked but at least the rest of the game was still good. So should I still give this game another go?
Um... Of course it sounds like shit and a cliche when you haven't played the first two games in a story-based series.

Edit: Oh god quadruple ninja.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm okay with these endings. [sp]You have stopped the cycle that had been repeating itself for hundreds of thousands of years, and no one could even resist that. What did you expect? Just punch them all to death? Of course the Galaxy is in ruins and every way of communication is broken, species scattered among the stars and planets[/sp].
Ermm everything is in chaos because the galaxy is being reaped. Treat Mass Effect as one whole story, ME1 and 2 weren't in chaos but this is the ending and it is now for good reason.
But if you do that you notice ME2 was entirely pointless and out of place. You could practically cut it from the story and it would take 15 minutes just to edit it out. Shepard saves the citadel and is called back to earth to prepare it's defenses but bureaucracy is holding things up. The reapers show up earlier than expected with indoctrinated members of a terrorist cell called Cerberus you met in the first game, and you have to alert the council which has also been trying to prepare for the reapers and rally planets to your cause. -That would make the council seem not functionally retarded. -It would actually make the illusive man seem fucking illusive.

ME1 showed you thinks, said "hey this is Wrex, he's a Krogan, here's the genophage" ME2 goes and makes you deal with it on a personal level.
GOD FUCKING DAMNIT! Bioware may have lied to us again. Apparently the pre-load textures are the same as the demos. http://beefjack.com/news/mass-effect-3-pre-load-started-graphical-options-identical-to-demos/

It's completely irrelevant, yes I understand shit is going down. This happens in almost every game, but I'm talking about the beginning specifically. It's completely over used, I'm tired of having to run through corridor environments with scripted explosions and destruction to convey to me that "Shit's going down". Halo did this 11 years ago, Halo 2 did this, Doom 3 did this, Deus Ex HR did this, the list goes on. It's a completely un-creative way to convey that everything is in chaos. Absolutely 0 originality behind ME3's opener. Why should I play this game?
For those who don't know what I'm talking about https://twitter.com/#!/masseffect/statuses/170206103521595392 Goddamnit mah automerge.
Why are the Reapers so stupid? Why didn't they use the Collectors to prevent galactic civilization from discovering the prothean beacon on Eden Prime? Instead they relied on some stupid turian named Saren to do the bidding of Sovereign and that ended up putting a huge pin in their plans. Why are they choosing to cut off society after they show up to kill everything? By using the Collectors they could disable all of the relays before they show up which would ensure that galactic civilization will not be prepared for the oncoming invasion. This next one always rustles my jimmies. Why didn't the Reapers make every relay and Alpha relay? If I were a Reaper I'd totally do that. I'd give myself as much of a tactical advantage as possible. The Reapers are just stupid robots.

http://beefjack.com/news/mass-effect-3-pre-load-started-graphical-options-identical-to-demos/
But it says only about graphical options. Nothing about textures there.

In ME1 he tells you that his species is dying. By ME3 there is practically a cure under every doormat.
But it says only about graphical options. Nothing about textures there.
How can you enable High textures if there is no option?
No it doesn't. In ME1 he tells you that his species is dying. Well here it is, You heard about the Krogan world and the Genophage? Here it is" [editline]3rd March 2012[/editline]
It's completely irrelevant, yes I understand shit is going down. What the fuck do you expect when the story says "earth gets attacked" that nothing happens and we all frolic around?

It means that two previous parts explain all the stuff, why it happened. It's not an 'opener' in normal sense.

You are alone in this most inappropriate opinion sir
How can you enable High textures if there is no option?
It will probably just be on by default, no? GOD DAMN IT STOP POSTING EVERY TWO FUCKING SECONDS PEOPLE
I don't even understand the logic, why are you complaining that there is scripted cut-scenes or scripted events? What the hell do you want, the game to just either do nothing or pull some dynamic shit out its ass? (As if 360 hardware can do that)
It will probably just be on by default, no? GOD DAMN IT STOP POSTING EVERY TWO FUCKING SECONDS PEOPLE
But there is no "texture resolution" option. What about for the people whose computer can't run them well?
But there is no "texture resolution" option. What about for the people whose computer can't run them well?
If you can run ME2 you can run ME3. ME2 also ran better than ME1 due to several optimization. I can verify by the fact I struggled to run ME1 on my old Rig, ME2 ran like silk.

Now we have to save Earth as it is practically the center of the galaxy in this game"
But there is no "texture resolution" option. What about for the people whose computer can't run them well?
change the .ini?
change the .ini?
Or how about they just include the option. I shouldn't have to go into the .ini. Not including an option in the graphics menu leads me to believe there will be only one quality for textures.
Or how about they just include the option. Not including an option in the graphics menu leads me to believe there will be only one set of textures.
In Me1 you could change the resolution ingame. And still .ini file allowed you to change the resolution of the textures to higher values. So no, it doesn't tell us anything specifically.
[sp]I just heard what the Catalyst sounds like. It's the kid from the beginning but with some deep voice echoing. Ugh it reeks of ham and cheese.[/sp]
The Bioware forums are in total meltdown over the endings. It's worse than anything that ever happened over DA2. I mean youtube is already full of them. It's not like you would still have to play the game to understand them.
can someone behind spoiler text give a cliff notes reason why everyone is so negative about the endings?
[sp]I just heard what the Catalyst sounds like. It's the kid from the beginning but with some deep voice echoing. Ugh it reeks of cheese and ham.[/sp]
just when I thought the ending couldn't get worse
I'm looking foreward to some hot Reaper vs. Thresher Maw action. Also, why the ever-living fuck would you dumbasses watch the fucking endings before you played it? What the hell is the point? It eliminates any sense of dramatic buildup.
To determine whether or not it's worth it to support a dying video game developer.
To determine whether or not it's worth it to support a dying video game developer.
You can you know just download it instead of supporting the game dev and still have fun (User was banned for this post ("Warez, strike two" - Orkel))
