I.. am just so confused as to why they would write such a monumentally dissapointing ending to an epic trilogy that has been called "The Most Important Science Fiction universe of our generation. Can you even imagine the backlash when the game is released? Bioware won't live this shit down.
The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that this is Bioware taking a risk. It's a risk that's going to backfire heavily though.
And this all could have been avoided had there been a single "happy" ending.
Not even the most hardcore fanboys will defend that.
You'd be surprised.
Calm down. [sp]I'm pretty sure the Catalyst is just taking the form of a little kid to talk to Shepard (if he's actually the kid I'll be pissed). And the last part is from the epilogue, and the grandfather and kid are descendants of the crew of the Normandy crashed on the uncharted planet. The grandpa is telling the kid the story of Shepard or something. At least thats what I hope it is.[/sp] Still a shitty ending but it wasn't all just a bedtime story as far as I can tell.
I really, really, really hope that's what's happening. I really do. That's still a pile of dogshit, but that's like, a diamond dog shit compared to what was suggested on previous pages.
"It was all a bedtime story"
Not even the most hardcore fanboys will defend that.
Imagine the rage if the ending of HL2 was a black screen followed by an alarm clock, it was all just a bad dream and Gordon is just an average person.
no, I like that they went into a total different direction that nobody expected
hate all you wantttt
Oh god, that horrible ending, its just. Wow.
You'd be surprised.
If this ending turns out to be true there will be people on BSN defending it.

Woah woah woah. [sp]The epilogue is NOT saying that the story never happened. The grandfather is giving a historical re-telling of Shepard's story to his grandson.[/sp]
Ow, what is this, burning I feel?

They promised a range, they should have given a range, and as for the rest, I tried to warn you. *shrug*

Bullshit, you're trying to be contrary.

In a way, that sort of implies that the [sp]Normandy survivors do prosper long enough to have a few generations, right?
That's still incredibly fucking shit supreme ending right there but there's a light, right?[/sp]

[sp]I watched the videos files and this sounds like the most correct thing, no sound though, so I can't confirm it.[/sp]
if the endings are as bad as everyone is saying i'm glad i stopped caring about video game stories years ago otherwise i might be dissapointed
I'm just mad that all of the endings are pretty much the same.

Well, we've known this for a while, actually. [sp]The crew on the Normandy actually does survive. We just don't directly see the fate of the characters we know and love[/sp]

You and Bioware both.
Got this off of BSN, the Guide book lists these as endings.
Spoilers, obviously you dumb shit

[sp]Except for Tali and Garrus, being dextro they probably had to resort to eating each other[/sp]
Okay be honest guys did anyone know legion had a galaxy of fantasy account? Apparently he's a level 612 ardat-yakshi.
Ending plotholes!
I'm stealing from BSN now. I want to rage and I feel they'll rage with me.
[sp]if the kid is the Guardian/Catalyst thing who was in charge of the citadel... and is a reaper...What the christ was Sovereign trying to do in the first one? :v[/sp]

I'm veeeeeeeerrrry interested in finding out what ending #7 is.
You and Bioware both.
tbh is bioware stopped caring maybe the game wouldn't be as bad as everyone is saying
it seems like they care but just can't write very well
I'm just so sad. It's like my heart's been torn out and shat on and then taken advantage of.

I know that feel so well.
I'm really worried too. My brother and I used to discuss the Mass Effect plots at length, and dissect every little thing and analyse every little moment and compare em.
I don't want to have a talk about how the series ends. He'll be crushed more than I am.

As we all are. I pray it's one that's not a total sack o' shit, but you know... chances aren't looking good.

They should have made the 7th ending available through new game + OR through importing all the way from ME1
I will be a little annoyed if I have to play the game twice to get a satisfactory ending though.
some of you guys take games way too seriously
They should have made the 7th ending available through new game + OR through importing all the way from ME1
Yeah...
That'd be nice.
OH well, I'll do a NG+ anyway, and hopefully get an ending that can give me some closure.

Yes. Yes I do.
I love this damn series.
some of you guys take games way too seriously
I think we have a right to be mad when something we love ends retardedly
Guys.... is it really true? Plot spoilers here.
[sp]The entire ME storyline is actually a thing told by some grandpa to Shepards grandson? :smithicide:[/sp]

For all the strange/disappointing things about the ending...I'm surprised this is one of them. Can anyone explain to me what's bad about that?
