Well it IS the journey that matters
True, but a good journey needs a satisfying end. Lord of the Rings, The Dark Tower, Star Wars, all have great journeys with good and satisfying endings. Mass Effect should be able to deliver the same. If the end of a story falls flat, everything else feels pointless and a waste of time. As great as a journey may be, the destination must also bear satisfaction or relevance to the viewer/reader/participant. Will Mass Effect 3 deliver such an ending in the grand scheme of things? I cannot say.
Well it IS the journey that matters
The ending is what caps the story. It's like a tower, the journey starts well, the bottom, provides a solid base for the rest of the story to use. Then it fleshes out, the story is expanded, solidifying it.
And then you have a giant cock cresting your tower, and it just pisses on everything up to that point.

The journey is all well and good, but why embark on a journey with a shitty destination?
It's amazing to have been a witness to this thread's stages of coming to terms with Bioware and ME3. Months back you were all (and rightfully so) praying for a great conclusion to Shepard's trilogy, a worthy ending to the games you've come to love over a long period of time. Now you're saying shit ends are alright as long as Garrus says some funny shit in the game?
Well, let's be honest with ourselves here. This is Bioware we're talking about. What aspects of the Mass Effect series are NOT cliche in some way or another?
not cliched but troperiffic
Oh, 500 posts? I wonder what happened... Oh my fucking god
Really bioware, Really? This is disappointing, I honestly thought that maybe their writing would get better by the third game. Dunno why I did now that I think about it :/

I'm not even mad about the ending anymore. Whats the point? Constantly being mad and bitching about it isn't going to miraculously change it (at least not until Bioware sells the better ending for $15), and its just going to ruin the rest of the game for you. I'm going to try and enjoy the game for what it is. I'll only be mad if the writing throughout the entire game is bad.

I think its more we're just trying to accept what the game is. The endings might not make everyone happy. But everything else I am sure will be good.
One bad thing doesn't negate anything else that was good.
I really want that soundtrack right now!
I agree with most of that, except for the fact that Wrex is 'violent'. He rarely seems to resort to any serious form of violence throughout the trilogy - he knows that as a Krogan the mere threat of violence is enough to get his way. I mean think about the things he says if he's with you on Noveria; he pretty much threatens to eat almost everyone there at some point or another, and that's the end of his input in the situation.
The Wrex-Aria thing has been a known quantity for years. And Wrex doesn't threaten until threatened. If you lack the strength to back up your threat, yeah, he'll probably fuck you up.

So I just finished ME2.
That was awesome.
But everything else I am sure will be good.
Why are you so sure of this?
I get that you guys really want the game to be good, and would like to believe it will be until the very last second, but how can you say this with a straight face (metaphorically speaking). What has Bioware/EA done to give you this sort of confidence in them?
Made the first two games?
Plus, the demo was fun (singleplayer that is, can't speak for multiplayer as I don't have xbox live right now), and the trailers are all looking spectacular.
Made the first two games?
Still think Bioware is the same company it was before EA took the reigns.
That answers my question.

EA has published every game since the first Mass Effect.
good game pat bioware on the back
bad game send EA death threats

Stop being such an elitist dickhead, aight? You've been like this the whole thread.
People just want to enjoy the game and you're like "NO YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ENJOY THIS BECAUSE THEY RUINED THE SERIES FOREVER ETC. ETC."
the only way mass effect 3 could disappoint me was if it farted in my face instead of being a game.
but chances are it's a game so i won't be disappointed.

I don't care about EA nor Bioware. I don't like most of Bioware nor EA's games. I'm simply confidinate in Mass-Effect because I doubt they'd fuck it up, espiscally with it being their most prized investment, for both of EA and Bioware.
The story might disappoint, the ending might piss me off, but the gameplay is great, the music is great, the sounds are great, and the multi-player is great.
Even if I can't enjoy the story (which who knows? Maybe its good?), I can enjoy everything else ME3 has to offer. I can't just negate any good in this game because a few things irk me. In the end I'm just being a bit optimistic that the final game won't be awful.

There, used my Paragon save as a base and made it the options I did before for you, just change the face to whatever.
I don't think I'll be able to replay both games, nor does the Editor seem sufficient not to fuck up my savegame, so now I'm wondering, if I start a save from scratch, will I miss out on things?

And they waded in to defend Bioware from Fox during the ''sexbox scandal''.
I haven't read the spoilers, is the ending really that bad?
Like worst ending ever made kind of bad?

After watching it I can say: yes.
It's bloody horrible.
