Or one the looks like Garrus. You put the disc in and then it red rings and says," Could it wait a bit Shepard? I'm in the middle of some calibrations."

For me, it's more like:
ME1 = Star Wars: A New Hope
ME2 = Lord of the Rings: Two Towers
ME3 = Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (I can dream, can't I?)
My choice for ME1 could probably be better, but my brain isn't working at full capacity right now.

I'd say ME1 is more like The Matrix than A New Hope to be honest. I mean the revelation in each of them is equally as Earth-shattering to the characters within it. Neo finds out his entire world is fake and that humanity is almost wiped out, barely getting by in a post-apocalyptic future, and Shepard learns about the Reapers and their reapings. Both The Matrix and ME1 set up amazing universes to be explored, and the sequels to each may prove to be disappointing by comparison.

You know what? That's dead-on. I would never have thought of it that way.
I stand by my choice for ME2 though.
Or ME2 could be related to Dead Man's Chest. Introduce a new big baddy, bring back some characters from the original that people liked, prance about for a bit ultimately achieving very little but setting everything up for the finale.
[editline]9th February 2012[/editline]
Also, I meant that kind of negatively. I heartily disliked Dead Man's Chest. Pirates of the Caribbean only needed one movie.
ME2 = Lord of the Rings: Two Towersw.
The Two Towers is the best of the trilogy. The change in scenery, the introduction of new characters and environments, the heavy themes of WW1 really being addressed, and if we're talking about the films, the soundtrack. I wouldn't compare it to the generic second installment of the trilogy.
I didn't hate Mass Effect 2, far from it, I actually enjoyed it. But it was much more predictable and 'Hollywood' than the first game.
It's like Knights of The Old Republic and Knights of The Old Republic II
(Except Bioware made both of them)

Well, the original KotOR felt more "Hollywood" than the second.
