It's impossible to miss minor spoils, like with Prothean (and I think saying that Prothean will be in ME3 for those who bought From Ashes is no longer a spoiler) or [sp]EDI having a body[/sp], but at least it's possible to miss major spoilers like endings, and thanks goodness for that.
I'm gonna be sceptical and say that the reason it was good in ME1 was because you didn't know, and when you do know it never lives up to expectations, whatever it is. So come up with a motive for the Reapers that is acceptable. The one they spewed out is garbage, so what wouldn't be disappointing?
I'd much rather have Reapers [sp]that are simply evil. That shitty circular logic they gave them is horribly planned and written and executed. Making the Reapers simply evil, doing evil things, for no reason other than to commit unspeakable acts of evil would have been WAAAAAAAAAAAAY better.[/sp]

But a better plot would be to have the main villain be "simply evil" and completely shallow?
Yes. Why do we need to know what the Reapers do anyway? Why do we need to attempt to understand them? All organics know is the Reapers want them dead. Why bother understanding what they do, why they do it, or how they do it if it won't matter?
Yes. Why do we need to know what the Reapers do anyway? Why do we need to attempt to understand them? All organics know is the Reapers want them dead. Everyone and Everything has motive.
Consider that BioWare tickled you with the motives of the Reapers several times through ME1 and ME2, but never actually explained anything because they either had nothing planned for the motive of the Reapers or they just wanted to give the player and organics the illusion that even if they tried to comprehend they couldn't. Sovereign always speaks so highly of itself and what it stands for. It always says that it's something that organics cannot understand, which is why even if you ask it doesn't tell you.

I'd much rather go through the entire series not knowing why the Reapers reap. They don't need a motive. They're just machines, and machines can be broken. For all we know the Reapers came up with that great idea to [sp]save organics from synthetics by killing organics every 50,000 years[/sp] from being broken.
All villains have to have a motive otherwise it's just lazy writing.
The Joker didn't have a motive. He was just batshit insane and everyone praises him for being the ~greatest villain ever~.
I'd never be satisfied with any enemy that's "Just EVIL". Everything does something for a reason - Even if they're just programmed to destroy, who built them? Where did they come from? WHY are they programmed to destroy?
The Joker didn't have a motive. He was just batshit insane and everyone praises him for being the ~greatest villain ever~.
The Joker wanted Batman to kill him. End of line.
Wow, I thought people were joking about this guy but I see now that he is an awful moderator.

END OF RINE.
Wow, he really actually adds "End of line" at the end :v:
I literally thought ''end of line'' was just a joke added by Stanry Roo.
Wow, he really actually adds "End of line" at the end :v:
Considering he answered the question, I get the feeling he does it more as a joke than anything else.
Considering he answered the question, I get the feeling he does it more as a joke than anything else.
The problem shouldn't exist for that user because a console player can play it without having a release date check blocking them. Any PC user who gets the game early won't be able to play it, whereas a console user will be able to play it.

Here I am, sitting with my ready to play, installed, updated, and all DLC updated/installed copy of the Digital Deluxe ME3.... :suicide:
Considering he answered the question, I get the feeling he does it more as a joke than anything else.
"Can I play it early?" "Officially released on Tuesday" He sidestepped the question like a professional politician.
You know, I actually cancelled my pre-order on Origin becuase I found it cheaper on a other place. I get a full refund the day after I contacted support but the game is still in my library, pre-loaded with the CD-Key sitting there waving in my face. Silly EA giving my free games.
"Can I play it early?" "Officially released on Tuesday" He sidestepped the question like a professional politician.
Is his favorite character Udina?
"Can I play it early?" "Officially released on Tuesday" He sidestepped the question like a professional politician.
No he didn't, he basically said it. It might be a tiny bit vague, but I thought it was pretty simple to understand, you can't play it unless it is released
After reading a few of the plot related spoilers, maybe we're all trolled by BioWare.... right? Right guys? They can't be that retarded :tinfoil:
Sometimes, I wish I could erase my memory of all the details about a game so I can play it fresh. Deus Ex, BioShock, Mass Effect, Half-Life and so on.
You'd also save a shitload of money. You'd only have to buy one game, and then play it over and over again getting amazed each time.
I feel like the team gave up half way and started taking discussions/theories on BSN and added it into the story, because all these things that have been leaked bring back that ''Did I read that before?'' vibe.
Despite whatever happens with ME3, I am in love with the soundtrack. :zoid:
I think I read this on /v/ or /vg/, not sure (first time visiting that board in search of some spoilers and opinions on them). One user had there pretty cool idea how the trilogy should have gone. I, too, realized after beating ME2 that this part of the story won't have much of an effect in the final game (you did learn more about some factions and lore but it looks at the moment most of your actions won't really matter). This guy proposed this scheme. Firts game, no major changes, in the second game you begin to unite the races and start building your fleet against the Reapers. Finally, in the third game you wrap up some loose ends and start war with the Old Machines.
lol, wouldn't it be easier for you to just stop reading the thread?
alrighty then
i am ready to abuse more women for the greater good of the galaxy
No he didn't, he basically said it. It might be a tiny bit vague, but I thought it was pretty simple to understand, you can't play it unless it is released
This only applies to PC players. You aren't blocked from playing the game on the Xbox or PlayStation.
My VPN says the game officially releases on Monday. End of rine.
