As long as its presented well that could be the ending and I would not give a shit. I don't care if it turns out its all a dream and Shepard wakes up in an insane asylum screaming the reapers are coming. I care about the journey that got me there not the end result. I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't care how it ends. That's why I was fine with spoilers, because sure, if you know how it ends, that's all fine and dandy but you don't know how you got there etc and that's really just as big a mystery if not bigger

Endings are just as important as the journey too it, especially for us who care about the story. It's the last part off the game and should be something awesome to really top it all of in a boom. Have you ever head of "Saving the best for last"? The ultimatum should be the ending leaving you walking away amazed. It should be going uphill the entire journey, the best part shouldn't be in the middle, only the excellent parts should be there.
Endings are important for some of us, but no the game shouldn't be "ruined forever" by the ending but it shouldn't be "meh, it was decent" it should be "It's AWESOME!"
It almost sounds like they just slacked-off with the ending since the knew nobody would see until they finished the game anyway at which point they have already paid for the game.
It also sounds like some people don't care at all and are willing to put pretty much everything bad about the game away for some reason and then defend it from those complaining about these parts, why?

the previous endings to the previous games were cliche, especially in ME1, i mean shepard even made a ridiculous pose as dramatic music played in the background in the blue shiny void of space
