Fuck. So classes are exclusive to certain races, and customization is right out.
Though if you can still use the weapons you want regardless of class I guess I might play it just to see what it's like.

Not sure if you're talking about MP or SP. In ME2 single-player I've modded my Shep to carry all weapons as well as my squad mates. That was one of the good things about ME1, your squad mates could carry more weapons.

It's odd though how only 10-15% of Mass Effect players play a Femshep, yet she accounts for a very wide percentage of both fan-art, and fan discussion (specifically in the area of seeing more of her.)

Because minorities usually create the biggest turmoil to create attention.
Now take your percentage one step further:
If 10-15% play femshep, only -- lets say 25% of them -- romance Garrus.
That's 2.5-3.75% of all players caring for a Garrus romance, seriously?
I forgot to save this video with a Bioware Dev who said the most fucked up fanart pops up when he searched how Garrus was received. I'm sure it was one of the 3d artists working on Turians.

There appears to be a correlation between people who would choose to play as femshep and those who take mass effect a little too seriously.

I take the game super srs, I just don't expect my opinion to be catered to or that everyone else should feel the same way. Entitlement and heavy investment are two vastly different things.

So I've heard the default ME3 choices have all Me2 characters dead except Garrus and Tali. And yet new players can get the best ending without playing previous games? Well, I guess that explains [i]everything[/i].

Yes, in a nutshell that's the whole deal. Most characters will be reduced to cameos. If it's accurate why did we had to hire the most skilled team in the galaxy if they take it from us again?
In this light the suicide mission seems dumb. Sure the concept was fun, but most people -- the core fans -- made sure everyone survives. Guess it would have been too much trouble to come up with any new meaningful dialogues.
