Prolly can get the best ending, not sure on the war rating.
Basically when you start out you have a 50% rating, each match in MP gets you probably 2-4% (On bronze) extra, and I THINK you need 100% to max it out, but then I don't know if you could go over the counter bar by doing everything, because I haven't got that high yet. Not really sure tbh, but MP increases the ratings.

Just fly around right clicking, if theres something in range a red marker will appear on it. No need to scan every planet going, "PLEASE LET THERE BE SOMETHING INTERESTING"
