Pretty sure you don't need MP to get the best endings after all, I've got like a 75% rating or something from MP but my green bar is nearly full (Like 95% done) and I still have shit loads of side quests to do and I haven't gotten too far in to the main quest.
You just need to do all the side quests the game gives you.

Your galactic readiness is at 50%. If you had it at 100% your War Assets would fill up that grey bar instead of only half.

Great, my 3 year old Razer DeathAdder is almost broken. Scroll wheel skips, one of the side buttons doesn't work and now the fucking left click is barely working....
