• Mass Effect Megathread: DING DONG BANNU edition

What I currently feel about Mass Effect 3 is that they've been clearly putting effort into some parts, while others just tend to be a bit of a hit and miss. Sometimes I'm GOTY level impressed, but sometimes I just say to myself "man, this could have been A LOT better." Oh yeah, and one thing I really, really wanted to see in ME3 is a Perfect ending with a STALKER: Call of Pripyat-ish outro that rolled along with the credits, telling what happened to each or most of the characters Shepard met during his journeys.
What. The. FUCK. [sp]I completed both missions on Rannoch before starting the mission to destroy the Reaper Base. I had Tali -and- Legion's loyalty in Mass Effect 2. My Reputation score is -above- the third mark. But after I destroy the Reaper and they give me the ultimatum to either "Let the Geth Die" or "Upload the Code" I DON'T have any other fucking options! Am I missing something? Do I have to choose one and THEN choose something else? Or am I fucked? I did EXACTLY what was necessary to ensure I had 5 out of 5 'points' so what the HELL is going on?[/sp]
Wow [sp]I found out that I lost Jack and the guy from Project Overlord by not getting in time to save the Grisson Academy.[/sp] >:(
You absolute bastard. [sp]Jack made me feel FEELINGS.[/sp]
So yeah this is early spoilers so dont be afraid. [sp] I was so fucking happy Grunt lived, I saw him come out and I was like you smug mother fucker. I thought he died. [/sp]
Mass Effect 2 loyalty STILL counts apparently. He dies if not loyal. Same goes for [sp]Kasumi[/sp] and a few others. [sp]Jacob[/sp] too maybe.
[sp]Let Legion upload, then at the second dialogue choose the Paragon/Renegade response.[/sp]
[sp]I just did that and it didn't give me a fucking choice. Tali told the fleet to fall back and Gerrel being the stupid motherfucker he is belayed her order. She asked Shepard not to do it, and it gave me a choice to either stop the upload or continue it. I continued it, thinking that it would give me another chance and it did not. The Quarians and Tali died. What the fuck is wrong with this god damn game? I did everything necessary to ensure that BOTH would survive.[/sp] Is there a save editor for ME3 yet? I'm not going to fuck with this. I'm modifying my renegade score so I can see if that helps.
Mass Effect 2 loyalty STILL counts apparently. He dies if not loyal.
Oh shit. My last playthrough i managed to save everyone with not everyone loyal, a bit of a Suicidal suicide mission run for shits and giggles. I'm not reading any spoilers so is it a big problem or a minor problem?

But later (spoilers) [sp]you meet Jacob at a Cerberus Facility, and Dr. Archer is there, and if you talk to him, he literally goes off with a pistol, and when the dialouge ends, you can hear him shoot himself. Pretty grim, although I never liked Archer, miss David though.[/sp]

It was above the third bar. AFAIK that's all you needed.[/sp] I'm so fucking pissed about this. Han Gerrel knows I'll kick his ass. I punched that stupid bitch in the stomach when he tried to backsass me about what happened after he [sp]attacked the Geth Dreadnought with me still inside[/sp]

I've been avoiding this thread for spoiler reasons but god damn every shoulderpad in this game looks terrible can't wait for some coalesced.ini style mods. I just want to ditch the pads entirely, it's not like I'm constantly tackling people.
Quick cover that up! is not [sp]!
... All of the spoilers in that post are tagged appropriately. It isn't a spoiler to let everyone know renegades get the chance to punch that bitch in the stomach. It's a long time coming, Gerrel is too arrogant. Did you do the Geth Flyer mission and the Admiral Koris one? Did you save Tali from being exiled and keep her loyalty when she wants to bitch slap Legion?[/sp]
[sp] 1- I rewrote the Geth in ME2. Now I can see that was a fucking mistake. If I use an editor to change that to them being destroyed in my ME2 save, will that automatically carry over to ME3 or would I have to import it again? 2- I did both missions on Rannoch first. I saved Admiral Koris over his men and I successfully disabled the Geth Flyer base 3- Tali was not exiled and was loyal 4- When Tali and Legion fought, I wasn't able to use a paragon/renegade check RIGHT THEN to solve the issue. I sided with Tali, and then IMMEDIATELY talked to Legion and told him I 'lied' to Tali. They were both loyal at the end of ME2[/sp]
Is Origin really nesecery for Mass Effect 3 if I'm not going to play the multiplayer?
Can you romance Ashley in ME3? What are the possible romance options?

shit, I don't remember if I proved tali's innocence in ME2 on this save all I know is that they were both loyal

You just must complete both side missions on Rannoch, but if you destroyed Heretics, you may not do those side missions and still get the option to make peace with geth and quarians.[/sp]
It's irritating how Vega starts all his lines with "Hey Commander" or something, so even if he's about to say something about the previous mission I accidentally skip it because I just figure it's one of those lines the squaddies say when they have no more unique stuff to talk about
Any way to make the clothing/armor textures not be horrible? Some config mod or an early texture pack?
[sp] If I use an editor to change that to them being destroyed in my ME2 save, will that automatically carry over to ME3 or would I have to import it again? [/sp]
hmm, would this work?
You'd have to import again for the changes to register

Part of Mass Effect is making decisions and living with them, for good or ill.

Bleh. I just finished the game and now I see what everyone was so upset about. I don't think I should say anything, since everything I could say about it has already been stated several times. However, the game as a whole is pretty fucking sweet. If the ending didn't make me feel like nothing I ever did mattered, I'd be a lot happier with it. But still, most of the story is really entertaining and emotional, the characters are still who I remember them to be, and the combat is really enjoyable. I see myself starting my second playthrough very soon.
