you mean you pirated the game.
tsk tsk tsk
wtf. 5000-6000 Total or Effective is the minimum for the absolute best?
I have shitty internet and I can't play the multiplayer WHAT THE FUCK. I THOUGHT IT WAS FUCKING POSSIBLE WITHOUT GODDAMN MP
I skipped the MP and a basic playtrough granted me ~2200 points :l
I skipped the MP and a basic playtrough granted me ~2200 points :l
Pretty much this. The only way to raise the readiness percent is to play multiplayer I believe.

I have a 15kbps (note that that is bits) connection.
I have about 3500 effective resources right now. Do I seriously need 5000-6000.
From what I hear I am almost at the point of no return. I have done EVERYthing.
The endings really did make everything you did feel pointless.
[sp]I was really hoping for some montage of all the people's lives you changed, and the consequences of your actions, like the end of Stalker: CoP. Instead, the ends change the galaxy so much that almost everything you've done seems pointless, especially if you got for that wacky synthesis thing.[/sp]

Apparently 4000 points is doable in singleplayer.

But what is required for the best ending?
bioware says it's possible to do only singleplayer and get the best ending.
Just reposting

Not sure if DLC counts toward the readiness.
Oh, didn't see edit.

6000 is your War assets
Readiness is a % based on how much you played the multiplayer Coop. Woohoo.
The max I got is 3500 on a SP playthrough.
Also, I love how they even GIVE YOU A TEXT BOX AT THE ENDING TELLING YOU THERE WILL BE DLC.

[sp]DLC where you control the reapers? I'd love that. Cept that wouldn't work of course based on player ending.[/sp]
[sp]DLC where you control the reapers? I'd love that. Cept that wouldn't work of course based on player ending.[/sp]
The only DLC they could make is either bonus characters and bonus missions before the endings. You can't place any DLC after those horrible endings. If you've seen it, you exactly know why.
[sp]Also, I'm sure you would love to wait 5000 years until you reach the closest solar system, seeing there's no mass relay anymore[/sp]
Or if we're lucky, they put a DLC ala Broken Steel (Fallout 3) where the endings never did really happen and you get to wage war against all Reaper forces until you can have your happy forever after.

I would like that.

Do you mean the [sp]time capsule scene?[/sp]
IIRC you can really rekindle the relationship once she asks you to meet her on the Citadel.

[sp]I dunno, Reapers have really fast FTL. They reached the galaxy in about six months, and they were placed outside it.[/sp]
guys i have one question, what happened if in ME2 in suicide mission everyone die?

It was said long ago that if you had that ending, you couldn't import it to ME3 anyway.
Also, I found this very useful link if you want to see how to get ALL the endings.
http://www.ign.com/wikis/mass-effect-3/Endings
Basically, your effective assets matters into what ending you can get, aka too low and well you're in deep shit and too high you get a somewhat good ending.
If you want the real best amazing ending : Newgame+ with a lot of Effective assets. (You need to get some Readiness if you want to get that ending)
So yeah, basically YOU HAVE TO PLAY MP if you want to get the best endings. On SP 100% playthrough, you can get the somewhat good endings.
wait the multiplayer has an effect on the single player? thats fucking stupid + gay
multiplayer games suck i want all story

As I mentioned earlier, the Prima Guide (according to Reddit) makes mention of a secret ending after you play the second time around, everyone thought that information was outdated as a ton of people on the BioWare forums have supposedly done some NG+ games with no secret ending in sight, interestingly enough, the article you've linked makes mention of the ending aswell.
Apparently a group of people have datamined the game's files and determined that there is no 'secret ending', which is confusing, why are all these mildly official sources saying there is?

Just play your part in singleplayer and Youtube the rest when people finish. :)
Unfortunately I guess you'd have to go through newgame+ if you're really into it then.
[sp] Legion's death was special to me, "Creator Zorah do I have a soul?". Fuck when I finish the game I'm restarting to try maxing everything [/sp]

Gotta love a quicksave feature or a manual save feature where the game permits you to save every never.
[sp]How the fuck do I save both the Quarians and the Geth? I don't want Geth to pay for what the Quarians did, and I don't want to doom the Quarians. FUCK.[/sp]
[sp]So, I've thought about it, and Control's the best possible outcome. The main problem with these endings are that the ME Relays get destroyed, right?
Well if you're in control of the Reapers, you can just say "build some more o them mofos" and they'll do it. Then everyone can be super-happy and not stranded in space.
Even if they, for whatever reason, can't just build some more Relays, the Reapers were still able to reach the universe within half a year or so. That's a really long distance done in about a tenth the time it would normally take to reach it.
So there /is/ one ending that doesn't suck balls. But only one.[/sp]
