My copy came today. Should I finish ME 2 with my ME 1 imported character (I've just finished the Horizon level with this character in ME2) or should I just go straight into ME3?

Finish ME2 since a lot of the quests are related. Not to mention it makes the game feel more atmospheric since a lot of details about the past are mentioned.

Its not needed but it makes ME3 better simply by having all the stuff you've done actually get mentioned or benefit in the war assets. Its even more worth it if you had ME2 and/or ME1 DLCs.
This is my first time playing ME. I played it around for half an hour, is this a "cover shooter" or will there be more to it soon?

Finished the first story mission after getting control of the Normandy. Not really seeing an downside to the lesser dialogue choices. Barely noticeable to me.
Shame about the Multiplayer unlocks still. I've played adept exclusively, I keep unlocking Shotguns and have 2 Asari Vanguard cards.
Considering I want an Asari Adept and Pistols/SMG's or even Avenger upgrades, it's not really awesome at all.
Been playing this for two hours so far, I think I can safely say BioWare/EA completely destroyed the franchise
everything in this game feels terribly rushed, animation errors everywhere, dialogue offers absolutely no choice (just the same thing worded differently), cutscene direction is absolutely chaotic, etc
ME1 was good, ME2 was ME1 polished and streamlined, ME3 is... ugh, just no
this is one of my biggest disappointments to date

I'm only disappointed at the ending. Up until the last 10 minutes or so, I genuinely thought Mass Effect 3 might have been the best game in the series.
