Personally I wouldn't be too sorry to see the vorcha bite the dust, since they come across as unapologetic dicks, but knowing those roach-people they'd probably survive regardless. Batarians would be a bit higher on the list, seeing as some of them aren't as bad, but many are still dicks. Bro-gans deserve to be liberated somewhat from the genophage, though they shouldn't be completely liberated; make the birth viability rate 1 in 100 as opposed to 1000. Quarians have travelled long enough and deserve their new beginning, hopefully coexisting peacefully with their ancestors' legacy at long last (Rannoch and the geth). I guess the council races could also be saved somewhat, though not as much; a humble rebirth would do them some good, and the asari would be MORE than capable of rebuilding their gene pool what with their unique breeding capabilities. The hanar, i'm hoping that they don't become crusaders in the new world after the Harvest, and the volus might come in handy to reestablish the galactic economy, plus the elcor could be saved just because I feel like it. I'd need to see what the raloi are all about before I build a consensus on them... Hmmm, well in that case the batarians seem even more like North Korea than I previously thought...
I can only trust the 'return of the krogan' to Wrex. If Wreav is in charge, I can't see much changing in their lifestyle to become better for the galaxy. But regardless, the krogan shall live. Now, the batarians, they're pretty much dead anyhow. I mean, they've lost their homeworld, a major colony, Omega, and plenty reside with the Blue Suns. They're in a deep hole that could soon become their grave. Vorcha can die in a fire along with the volus. The quarians were pricks to the geth but the geth haven't done much to remedy the situation either. Both deserve to live. Everyone else can live unconditionally. Also, the demo still comes out publicly on Monday, correct? You guys just got early access by doing some things?
So, I've played the demo and I guess I'll tell you guys what I thought. I'll be as non-specific and non-spoiler as possible, if anyone is irked, please tell me to Spoiler-Tag it. I was going to, but its a lot of text and I'm not talking about the plot. The Face Customization is as deep as it always was, but they've completely overhauled all the hairs, male and female, and all the face models. Your Shepard will probably look fairly different (in a good way). Because of the improvements. You are stuck with pre-set weapons in the demo, Earth has the M-6 pistol, Sur'Kesh has the M-6, the Mattock, That one standard shotgun, that one standard SMG, and thats about it. (I'm sorry, I don't remember their names). Grenades are very useful, and are also considered a power, you have to invest in it, though they're also an item, so to clarify, you invest in grenade skills, but you need grenades to actually throw. You get these from heat-sinks I believe. As Jean-Luc said, there is no customization of armor, weapons, and barely any dialogue choices, the current writing is pretty decent, and I noticed I could pick up a Pistol scope and some new greaves. Though I could not equip them as said. Gameplay is extremely fast-paced, much harder, though its not too bad. Weapons and such do a lot more damage, but it was a bit clunky because I'm not used to the 360 controller. You can dive and sprint all around, its very fun. Enemies react a lot to getting shot and it feels very organic. Music is pretty good, didn't hear a lot as my TV sucks shit with sound-balance, but it was good from what I could hear, sounds in general were also great, guns were very meaty and "gun" like, but also had a sci-fi sound to them, they were all a lot of fun to use. Pretty decent demo for only an hour or so long, doesn't tell you too much about the story or writing, but it seemed promising.
the demo for the pc comes out on the 14th right?
Also yes, Garrus and Liara only. Their Character seems intact, though Garrus seems a bit harsh on Wrex, no idea really what that is about. I also let Kaidan live and he is as cool as ever. [editline]11th February 2012[/editline]
the demo for the pc comes out on the 14th right?
Yes
Indeed, right on Valentine's Day because hey why not. I wonder if using that timeslot to release the demo has any sneaky hidden connotations as to the nature of BioWare fans?
God fucking damnit I put in the code and accidentally canceled the download and now it's gone. I hate my stupid face right now
Indeed, right on Valentine's Day because hey why not.
Its a good thing my lover and I are mass-effect nerds. :quagmire: Mediocre Horde mode here we come [editline]11th February 2012[/editline]
God fucking damnit I put in the code and accidentally canceled the download and now it's gone. Is there anywhere I can download ME2 without going through Origin?
Its a good thing my lover and I are mass-effect nerds. :quagmire: Mediocre Horde mode here we come
And here I am hearing that post in Tali's voice. Because mental stability is for hipsters.
This isn't completely true. (Major fucking spoilers- why I know them is beyond me...) [sp]From the dialogue you can gather that Legion has a chance of dying if you side with the quarians and choose to obliterate the geth (both Tali and Legion can survive if you come to a neutral conclusion- most likely via paragon/renegade persuasion). Also from the dialogue, you can gather that Miranda can die if certain decisions are made (which are not specified) or can survive (there's two sets of dialogue involving Oriana, Miranda, and Shepard- one where Miranda says her final words to Oriana and another about the success of their mission. The Virmire survivor has, like, three chances to die (confronting Udina, gathering the prothean, and confronting Kai Leng in the monastery). It's a small mistake but whatever- there could even be more. Kelly can die, albeit off screen (Not sure if it's regardless of decisions or not). Wrex has a chance to die as well. He and Shepard can get into another argument about what's 'right for the krogan' if you side with the salarians (Don't take that one too much to heart, though, I'm not a hundred percent sure). Thane's death is a little ambiguous in the script. So far, I have only heard of him dying for running after FemShep and succumbing to his disease. Otherwise, there is a moment where he is shot and his death is not mentioned and then another moment where he is in a clinic recovering. [/sp] At least that's what I gathered from the script. It's still unknown as to what will make it in the full game and how exactly events will play out. Not sure if the picture is outdated, but I just thought I'd point that out. On another note, spoiler brothers, am I the only one who is okay with [sp]Mordin's death mainly because it's a suitable death for his character...[/sp]
[sp]I'm pretty sure Mordin can survive. If Wreav is in charge of the Krogan, you can convince him the krogan aren't worth saving. He'll fake his death to work on the crucible. I'd have to say I'd be okay with Mordin's role in the game if he didn't have the biggest role out of the entire Me2 squad. Two mission cameo appearance, generic character accomplishes the same thing if he's dead...and he has the biggest part? Pretty much all those characters get screwed one way or another.[/sp]
Is there anywhere I can download ME2 without going through Origin?
CD version and Steam version. Otherwise welcum 2 Orign! [editline]11th February 2012[/editline]
And here I am hearing that post in Tali's voice.
Try reentering the code or try looking for the ME3 gamepage and look for it.
Tells me code is taken and it's not on the game page. Guess I'll have to wait a few more days. :suicide:
CD version and Steam version. Otherwise welcum 2 Orign!
It's fantastic because I have the CD version (although disc#1 is at home) and Steam refuses to recognize the CD-key to exist, luckily Origin does however.
It's fantastic because I have the CD version (although disc#1 is at home) and Steam refuses to recognize the CD-key to exist, luckily Origin does however.
Yeah, only other thing is Origin or just install from CD (which you can't) [editline]11th February 2012[/editline]
Tells me code is taken and it's not on the game page. On the subject of Origin, should I get an Origin account now or later when I actually decide to get a copy of ME3 before launch? Also what's the average price for the game?
On the subject of Origin, should I get an Origin account now or later when I actually decide to get a copy of ME3 before launch? Its basically EA's Steam
God fucking damnit I put in the code and accidentally canceled the download and now it's gone. I hate my stupid face right now
Go to options (or profile, I don't remember which) on your x-box and find "Download History" you can re-download it there.
If you want I'll try the facebook code gen for you. But It might not even work cause it will be considered "redeemed" by you already
Nah it's cool. I'll just watch a video of it or something. Thanks though!
So, from what I've read, ME3 will be fun to play whether the characterization and story sucks or not. Which is good, because I'm pretty convinced that'll be the worst part of the game whether it turns out to be good or not.
You may also be able to go to the Demo's page on the X-Box or X-Box live website (if it has one yet) and re-download it.
Go to options (or profile, I don't remember which) on your x-box and find "Download History" you can re-download it there.
Already tried that too. It just went poof. Fuckin weird.

If I wanted purely improved combat, I'd play coop.
Raizo go to xbox.com go to your profile left hand side under your avatar select "Account" go to Purchase History Mass effect 3 demo should be there It is there for me, if you started downloading it should be on the list.
The demo was pretty good. Some things I liked, other things I didn't. Still pretty excited, but cautiously so.
I'm just hoping the final game is more refined than this demo, obviously it will be (I'd assume) but still. [editline]11th February 2012[/editline]
Characters and story were the things I was looking forward to the most. I dare not ask what happened and just say thank you :v:
Okay well it reappeared. I dare not ask what happened and just say thank you :v:
Glad to hear it worked out

I really want to play the demo, but I don't have Facebook. Is there any other way to get it?
I really want to play the demo, but I don't have Facebook. Is there any other way to get it?
Just make a facebook or two and keep trying, thats what I did. [editline]11th February 2012[/editline]
How much is that in British pounds? I'm trying to find the best deal and I wanna know how much to pay.
Lemme see, around 31 pounds (50USD) to 38 pounds (60USD) just did a quick google convert, might not be right.
