Just beat the game, the endings are as bad as I thought they would be. Regardless of 'context', I get no closure to anything i've done in any of the games, or to anything that happened in the entire galaxy really. Anyone get the New Game+ ending yet? I've been away from the thread for awhile.
And then we learn that her picture is just a photoshopped human face. Great originality, Bioware.
What, really? Oh wow. To think they'd done something special or atleast put some effort into a something like this for the character with the largest[sp]and wierdest[/sp] fanbase.

So, uh... is it just me or would anyone else like to see an update that doesn't make Banshees almost godlike?
So, uh... is it just me or would anyone else like to see an update that doesn't make Banshees almost godlike?
Oh, no problem with Banshees. I'd rather have an update that doesn't make all your actions pointless.
-snipperoo-
-snipperoo-
About sad parts, because above user snipped : Well, some sad parts really meant something : [sp]Mordin's death scene was great, Thane as well[/sp] Others are rather pointless and they're trying way too hard to make you feel sad : [sp]Like Kal'Reegar dying by e-mail, or other characters that you just met and then die in the same mission. The Quarian Engineer on Rannoch, hello, tell my family I saw the homeworld EURK and boom dead. Etc etc etc. [/sp]
God damn you I was trying to snip that! It was buried by posts and I figured screw it. Aside that, I think i'm just going to forget the ending for now, looking back on ME1 and ME2 to where I enjoyed the series most.
So, uh... is it just me or would anyone else like to see an update that doesn't make Banshees almost godlike?
I guess thats why they appear only here and there. I find it funny how they're 3 times harder to beat than a harvester, which looks so much more threatening.
God damn you I was trying to snip that! It was buried by posts and I figured screw it.
I guess I'll snip it then :v:
Did you know that if Drew Karpyshyn haven't left, we would actually have different ending, with much more sense? Right now Bioware can only redeem with that dlc about continuing after the game ends. (If it's free that is) With closure, and epilogues and black jacks and hookers
Well, some sad parts really meant something : [sp]Mordin's death scene was great, Thane as well[/sp]
[sp]Mordin's[/sp] death was probably the most powerful moment in the game, for me. On a side note, [sp]The whole Geth thing seemed kind of (extremely) contrived to me. They completely lose what made them unique. In ME2, the Geth were a mysterious, all-understanding civilization that were building a massive Dyson sphere so they could live as one being - but in ME3, they're basically like "Nope, sorry, we like feelings. Screw that."[/sp]

The dark energy would've been far more interesting, but even then, it doesn't really explain Sovereign's hostility in ME1
Yeah, I've read that elsewhere. The dark energy would've been far more interesting, but even then, it doesn't really explain Sovereign's hostility in ME1
It doesn't need to be. The Reapers view themselves as vastly superior to organics and anyone that gets in the way of stopping the dark energy is a threat.
To be honest, I prefer the [sp] reapers trying to stop technological singularity more than reapers drying to stop the spread of dark energy [/sp]
Yeah, the modified plotline does make more sense. It's also a much more poignant main issue. They still totally fumbled the ending, though.
[sp]Did anyone else feel like theres something missing, where at the final push towards the beam(on earth) they say that several Sovereign class reapers and Harbringer himself are coming to Earth, and then nothing special happens. A reaper just drops in front of you and starts shooting you. If that was Harbringer they could have at least made him say a voice line or two to Shepard. It would have really added to the overall feel of desperation.[/sp]
To be honest, I prefer the [sp] reapers trying to stop technological singularity more than reapers drying to stop the spread of dark energy [/sp]
But this makes me so angry. [sp] Seriously, Reapers are going to wipe all civilization every 50 000 years to prevent that? How is that any permanent solution? How is it the best solution? The reapers are exactly their own threat, to begin with. Whoever created them was probably destroyed in the process. Or they were made when their creators needed help, then they destroyed their own creators? The ending as it is is a complete Deus Ex machina to the core. A god (the Catalyst) would've the entire power to decide what deserves to lives and to die, and at what speed. Plus, they are forcing species to evolve by showing them their tech so they can kill them faster? The fuck does this achieve? [/sp]
Yeah, I've read that elsewhere. The dark energy would've been far more interesting, but even then, it doesn't really explain Sovereign's hostility in ME1
Maybe the race Sovereign was built from was just a race of assholes. Like something similar to the Vorcha. That would also explain why they left his ass behind. "Uh, yeah, you're the, uh, vanguard for our return! Very important! Just... Just wait here for a few thousand years. We'll be back."

"Uh, yeah, you're the, uh, vanguard for our return! Just... Just wait here for a few thousand years."
Sovereign was bullied, so he felt the need to bully organic lifeforms. Genius!
Brilliant... So I decide this morning, I want to play a bit of Mass effect 2. Turns out that my xbox has died over the week and has got 3 red lights! And to make it worse, I went into game yesterday to purchase Mass Effect 3 (I had £27 of instore credit) Only to find that Game and EA have had a dispute and They aren't stocking any of their games for a month! I Feel so deprived!
Ending spoilers: [sp]Really Bioware? How did you manage to mess that up so badly? No closure, nothing Shepard did mattered AT ALL. Thanks for letting me create a peace between turians and krogans and geth and quarians and have that become irrelevant. It feel so wrong, not like Mass Effect at all.[/sp]
A little off-topic, but did anyone else like the dream sequences? I like how [sp] as they progressed through time, more of the shadowy figures appeared, representing the people killed by the reapers. It was interesting to say the least.[/sp]
We're going to see a big dip in the quality of writing now that Karpyshyn is gone.

This kid's just spinning his ship model around and laughing? What's so funny? He should be making goddamn swooshing sounds like a normal child.

I wish the whole game was as emotional and deep in meaning like those scenes.
I like how whenever it's Liara or Tali everyone seems to just know you had sex or take a hint currently or in past. Dammit even Javik knows
