It takes me 3 seconds to melt a Brute or Harvester with the protean assault rifle, it takes 597439432749 years to kill a banshee
[editline]0[/editline]
and by the time you killed one, a second one walks up behind you and stabs you in the fucking stomach
my Widow eats banshees for breakfast
also what to do [sp] before attacking cerberus base[/sp]
Meh fuck it, time to kick their asses
Original ending in ME3 Beta:
[sp]The original motivation for the Reapers was that they were conquering galaxies because they tried to have a big enough, smart enough consciousness to find a way to stop the spread of the Dark Energy before it consumes the universe. They were running out of time, but they've realized that humanity is more genetically diverse than the other races and raced to synthesize them. The ending would have involved assimilating humanity, so the Reapers could have a chance to stop the energy or destroying them, in hope the whole galaxy will find a way to stop it with what little time they have. The general implication was that the Reapers were too arrogant to seek other ways than their own.
That's why there was so much of the "humans are special and more genetically diverse" in Mass Effect 2 and that's why there was foreshadowing about Dark Energy on Haestrom.[/sp]

Unrelated fanfic ending written a year ago:
[sp]"Doctor! Doctor Chakwas! I think he's waking up!"
Doctor Chakwas: You had us worried there, Shepard. How are you feeling?
Shepard: Minor throbbing; nothing serious. How long was I out?
Doctor Chakwas: About six years. Don't try to move; your muscles have atrophied from disuse. Do you want something to drink?
Shepard: Six years!? But... What happened to the Reapers?
Doctor Chakwas: Reapers? I'm not sure what you mean. Something happened down there on Eden Prime with the beacon, I think. I've been detecting some unusual brain activity--abnormal beta waves. I also noticed an increase in your rapid-eye-movement, signs typically associated with intense dreaming.
Shepard: But the Reapers... Death... Destruction... We have to stop them!
Doctor Chakwas: It sounds like it was quite a dream. You should try to relax. Are you... Oh. Custodian Anderson.
Custodian Anderson: How is he holding up, Doctor?
Doctor Chakwas: Well, all the readings look normal, but he seems to be suffering from mild dementia.
Custodian Anderson: I see. I'd like to speak to Shepard alone.
Doctor Chakwas: As you wish.
Shepard: Captain Anderson, what's going on?
Custodian Anderson: It's Custodian now. I was relieved of duty after punching Ambassador Udina in the face "unprovoked". The only work I could find was as a janitor at this hospital in the wards. It's a long story, Shepard. It's been years since Eden Prime.
Shepard: Eden Prime? What about the Reapers?
Custodian Anderson: I don't know anything about "Reapers", but it turned out that the colonists on Eden Prime were part of some violent cult that worshipped prothean beacons. They believed that the devastating seizures and delusions it caused were prophetic "visions". Even Gunnery Chief Williams bought in to it, joining your squad and lying to you to get the prothean artifact back. Damn "beacon-heads". Anyway, Saren had been doing reconnaissance for months, trying to infiltrate the cult. He had to kill Nihlus to maintain his cover. *sigh* Spectres.
Shepard: But the geth...
Custodian Anderson: You mean the synthetics on the colony? Alenko thought the same thing. Those weren't actually geth; they were just a newer model of maintenance robot that Saren re-programmed to defend him.
Shepard: But the Reapers... The Reapers... They're gonna liquify us and pump us into their veins... I'm the only hope for humanity...
Custodian Anderson: Are you feeling okay? Do you mind if I eat your lunch when it arrives?[/sp]

Both better than the current ending? You decide!

This end would have been fucking ridiculously stupidly horribly bad.
Fuck this bullshit, blow everyone that ends anything with this "LOL IT WAS ALL A DREAM" bullshit. Fuck who wrote that fanfic.
Seriously something like this would have been 10^10^100 times worse than what ME3 did.
That one just screams bad fanfic to be honest
Any idea if the ending affects New Game+? [sp]I went through two of the endings, first the controlling one and then the destroying one. I guess my New Game+ save (NewGamePlusSave.pcsav) would be pretty much the same regardless of the ending I chose?[/sp]
[sp]Why are my squadmates on the Normandy at the end anyway? Wasn't Joker preoccupied in space, battling with the fleet? When did he come fly back down and pick the remainder of my squad up? And why did my squad leave when there was fighting to be done? What the fuck.[/sp]
I made a new character because I couldn't find my ME2 save. Now I found my old save but I already have 12 hours played on the new Shepard. Is it worth it to start over with my old Shepard?

Doesn't starting with a new character in ME3 assume pretty much all of your friends died in ME2? I wouldn't like playing with that.
guys guys guys
4000 war assets is required for the best ending. 5000 is needed for you to get the best ending while [sp]not shooting IM when he is about to shoot anderson[/sp]
I wish you could walk around and talk to people after you beat the game, like in me2. Everyone celebrating, just having a good time, having stuff to say. Maybe in some dlc?
To be honest I really enjoyed the whole game, up until the end. Getting a bad ending like this kinda ruins my whole experience.

At least the soundtrack is still top notch

Great track
That part at the beginning with the voices sounds like DA:O music.
Actually, there are a couple tracks which sound like DA:O/DA2 music.
[sp]Went through all the three endings with 5000+ Effective Military Strength and I think I liked the synthesis one the most. The controlling one was also nice, but the synthesis felt more original. Now to browse the last 100 pages of this thread to see what others have been discussing...[/sp]
[ranting]
Just finished it, that was by far the worse ending i could have imagined for the mass effect.
[sp]Shep should have survived, in fact, the perfect ending would be something like
IM shoots himself
bruised and broken you sit next to dying anderson
watch as the Crucible fires killing the reapers AND DOING NOTHING ELSE!
destroying the relays was the dumbist fucking idea and who ever thought that was a good ending to this seires needs to be fired
destroying the relays just means that galatic supply lines are now broken and EVERY SINGLE ALIEN SHIP that went to help might as well be listed under K.I.A. there is no way for any of them to go back home, hell. they can't even tell other planets if the whole mission was a succses, the migraint fleet can now never see it's homeworld, every turian ship is now stuck in the sol system and now the citidal is now floating above earth, even earth wouldn't be able to help everyone and with sevral trilion tons of molten metal poaring down onto the planets surface it's not exactly good for housing refugees
AND WHY THE HELL WAS JOKER EVEN FLYING AWAY!
they really messed up what could have been fantastic very dissapointed in the ending [/sp]
almost everything else! however was damn near perfection in my eyes
[end of rant]
Biggest disapointment in gaming history.
Biggest disapointment in gaming history.
You're seriously exaggerating. The game is incredibly fun.
A failed ending doesn't make it the biggest disappointment.

Well, i meant the ending. The game itself is great.
i'm just glad everyone agrees it was an awful ending
is bioware saying anything about it? like, SORRY?

Saw something where Bioware is aware of the outrage, and they might talk about it once all the thoughts are gathered on it.
Maybe

I really doubt anything like that would happen. Best they could do, and that would be mutually beneficial, is just release some DLC with "good" ending.
[editline]0[/editline]
Anyone else notice how the romance scenes have been going downhill from ME1? The first had straight on hot alien sex, second one was pg13 clothed kissing, this one was just a [sp]"screen fade out", showing nothing[/sp].
[sp]Tali and Garrus[/sp]
That was going to happen and I just knew it would

I rarely buy DLC, and I'll say that if they release a good end DLC, I'll buy it.

Be advised, Cerberus research into Reaper technology has enabled them to equip certain combat personnel with quantum locked armour. As with the Mass Relays, these quantum locked troopers are impervious to all harm up to and including a direct hit from the Cobra missile launcher. Should you encounter one of these troopers, discontinue operations and fall back to a safe distance while Alliance Navy drops an asteroid on the combat zone.

[sp]At least with Liara there was some ME1-like stuff before the fade out.[/sp]
Saw something about a ME3 producer stating something along the lines of 'if only the fans knew what was coming ahead'.
Might be just more bull**** to keep the fans sticking around though, who knows.
